With the best girl in the background? Solid. Chie is the girl you take home to Mom. Risette is that girl you met at the club and leave their apartment 5am in the morning.

Maybe try playing Persona 3? 4 was a very bright/colorful story. But past entries in the series are pretty dark. And based on certain things we've seen, I think this game will return to that formula.

Why not wait for the Japanese release before deciding? Certainly there are many different tastes across the pond, but at least then you'd be able to tell in broad strokes whether the game sucks or not.

I agree with this somewhat more than the others saying that it won't suck. After all, Square had a pretty good track record before FFXIII. (FFXIII isn't awful, just not as good as it should have been from my perspective.)

Now imagine how EU people feel...

If they dare region lock this game there will be riots.

I think historically Persona games have come to EU with a much smaller time difference with America than most Atlus games, like a month. That being said I remember waiting about 3 months for Golden

I don't think this has been posted here but one the website one of the chains is broken. So 5 characters? or does it mean something else?

Maybe one of them is Sho?

Shos red hair keeps making me think he is going to be in P5 somehow. Not to mention P4U
It seems like he was a guest in the velvet room

Is it as fun as p4? I really enjoyed the characters and loved the extra curricular stuff and the dungeon crawling was actually surprisingly fun as well.

Also am I able to play p3 on Vita?

Persona 3 Portable (the PSP version) is playable on Vita.

And most of P4's mechanics are inherited from P3.

Nope, 6 months later for Persona 3 and P3:FES, 9 months later for P3P, and 3 months later for Persona 4.

I'd recommend getting P3P.

Its visual novel styled and you don't have the animations in it, but the combat is straight from P4 since you can give your party members individual commands. P3 Vanilla and Fes don't have that feature.

Also you should know that there is more than one type of physical damage in 3. It was simplified in 4.

It depends. It definitely doesn't feel as lively (I mean the combat) as P4G is but it did come before hand so less polish is to be expected. It's still a great game that you should definitely experience; the story is completely different, and it still has a great cast of characters.

And yes, you can play P3 on your Vita, but only the PSP port Persona 3 Portable. It's worth it to point out that P3P is not to Persona 3 what Golden is to Persona 4. It had to cut down on things such as animated cutscenes, exploration and the bonuses FES had but added new things like the Persona 4 combat system and a female main character route.

That said, I still prefer P3P to P3FES. It's less of a chore to play if you're used to later games in the series.

Compared to P4 it's a downgrade, gameplay wise. The story is better. P3P (PSP/Vita) allows you to play as Female MC but you navigate through places with a cursor instead of actually controlling your character.

I mean, I dunno. I think it's fun. But it's a lot more serious. The story is really dark, and the level progression is a bit more tedious (there isn't separate dungeons, it's like a 200 floor tower that you slowly progress throughout the game). It has its lighter moments, but it's few and far between what Persona 4 had.

I'm not trying to scare you off. It's just, if you've only played P4, then you might want to check out at least P3, just in case P5 ends up being similar. Don't want you going into P5 thinking it will be like P4 in terms of tone/style. And yeah P3 does have social links and activities. But I personally like Persona 4's better.

To be fair, we really know NOTHING about P5. I'm wondering if the social link/activity stuff will be more fleshed out and more complex this time around. If the game being on a new engine will really open things up. While I'm 99% sure this game is going to be more serious/dark, I have no idea how the other stuff will play out.

It could also refer to website updates. Seeing how this guy is supposedly the protagonist, you'd expect the chain in the middle to be broken if it represented the characters.

I know you're joking about fictional characters, but that attitude / behavior is really gross, manipulative, and predatory... And not really funny.

Gameplay wise, P4 wins by default. P3 had better story and characters. I preferred the dungeons and soundtrack in 3 too.

Yukiko is canon. Fuck you dissenters.

I would say, Yukiko and Rise are both canon (at least, by default the writing leans more towards them). I know there is no actual canon. But having played the game 3 times, I've always felt that the writing favored these two with Yu more then the others.

Well if I don't have a PS4 by the time this releases, I'll definitely pick one up.

Still, was hoping for a Vita release as I like playing these games on portable. Instant on/off makes a big difference in how much I play.
