There is actually an uptick in characters being a mix (American/Japanese) in anime/manga, and it's seen as exotic (see Nisekoi). I don't think they would be opposed to a mixed nationality. But lol I still get your point.

Yes I played Persona 4, you're right that character didn't have facial hair, which was a bit weird considering he's supposed to be 17? 18?

But the face was less feminine, features were less sharp and the hair wasn't as big. I could tell straight away

Anyway I still think this will be a girl, but most other people think it's a guy. I guess we'll just have to wait until the game is closer to see

That Persona 3 picture isn't by Soejima, so doesn't really count for anything.
 
Can't wait to see the updated demon models in this now its finally on PS3/PS4.

I don't know where you live, but most people I know shave off facial hair. There are people with facial hair, but not as many as you are making it out to be.

Mmm to be completely honest I never saw them as Japanese specifically, but I definitely know what you mean. Somehow I think of Teddy though - he was blond and blue eyes which is the 'stereotype' for foreigners in Japan.

Actually, would it even be possible with the PS4/Vita connection to do something similar to the gamepad (so stream different images to the Vita than what is displayed on TV)?

Anyway, I think I'd be cool if the option was there (especially if the smartphone of MC gets a role in the gameplay), it'd make sens. But well, considering even Nintendo aren't doing things like these anymore on the WiiU...

Blargh. Can't wait to buy this game at least three times.

Since this is the first modern gen Persona, I hope they don't see the need to re-release the game in full. With Persona 3 and 4 it was understandable considering they were PS2 games, made before DLC add-ons were a thing.

Yeah, the designs are usually more telling but it wouldn't be strange as there are anime characters that have more gender neutral designs. I'll stick with this character being a guy. We'll just have to see.

Psh. Might be a lame word to use, but it doesn't negate what I'm trying to say. I personally don't love the characters design. I think Both P4 & P3 had more appealing looks for what they were going for. I'm still reserving judgement until I see this guys personality (as that will largely drive how likable this guy is). But all we have for now, is the design of the character to talk about.

So much of the talk is around the fact that the guy is pretty, and how people want to see him get wall banged by another dude. I would like to avoid that Yaoi/Free influence if at all possible. :P

Lol are you actually serious? Have you ever watched an anime before. Hell I would say its rare to see college students with facial hair in anime, and a ton more rare to see high schoolers.

I'd actually be quite happy if you could either choose between a male and female like in P4P or if it's a girl. I really enjoyed P4P for that fact :)

Yeah, I actually liked that it wasn't just a character swap either. Playing Fem MC actually changed game quite a bit (in terms of the dialogue and how scenes played out).
