Super Smash Bros. for 3DS & Wii U Thread 14: Snake... had a hard life

To be completely truthful, there's one thing that's been a letdown about this new Smash Bros. I'm cool with the roster, I'm cool with the assist trophies, the stages we're getting are all pretty good, the customization looks neat, the soundtrack seems fantastic, but...

There's no N64 stages. Melee stages and Brawl stages are good. But man I miss Dreamland 64 and that abstract looking level with the shifting platform floating above Peach's Castle. Here's hoping the Wii U version has some deeper throwbacks to the series' first entry.

I would assume they would be remade at this point, rather than simply ported over. That would be a bit jarring visually.

Kirby at 9. Another character I never really use unless I'm going for only trying to drag people to self destructs with me. Will say though. The lack of Ike is disturbing. I know he's gotta be up on this list though.

Kirby is definitely in my top 5 Nintendo characters ever. Kirby's awesome, and his games are all at least great, always packed with content, have incredible music and level design, and lots of fun. Plus he's like an unstoppable overpowered entity of destruction and chaos packed in a cute pink round package.

I'll never stop loving Kirby. He'll definitely be one of the vets I play first as soon as I get SSB4.

I miss Hyrule Castle, Saffron City and Metal Cavern in particular. It's nice to have them in Project M, but SSB4 does feel incomplete without at least one or two 64 stages. Though I guess they would look horribly out of place if directly ported, and remodeling pre-existing stages would be a drain on resources that'd be unacceptable in a game where no amount of development time would be able to result in something absolutely complete.

I guess DLC is the only chance those stages have, especially if Sakurai is more of a supervisor than a director for the additional content.

Noooooooooo! Kirby at #9??? I'm seriously questioning your tastes, SmashGAF! He should be top 5 yo!

Cutest video game character ever. And the most awesome! #KirbyMain4Lyfe :p

Kirby being 9th really surprised me but I'm pleased tho. I had someone from this thread that actually rage quit against my kirby in project m. I wouldn't say who. YOU KNOW WHO YOU ARE!

First day on GAF as well, came here first.

*high five*

On topic: has it been mentioned how many times Robin can use each spell/sword before it expires? And it of course is for every life not every match right?
Yeah!

*high five*

To answer your question, I don't believe it has been mentioned yet and I certainly would imagine that it is per stock rather than per match. Have a great time here too pal.

I think Kirby absorbing people's powers was the first and biggest thing that ever resonated with me back when I first played Smash 64. I thought it was just the coolest idea ever, and I'd get pretty obsessed with eating people and taking their power over anything else in the match, haha.

I never realized how gelatinous Kirby is.

Bio
Kirby is, fittingly, the protagonist of the Kirby series. He made his first appearance in Kirby's Dream Land for the Game Boy as a placeholder, created by Masahiro Sakurai, for the game's early development; since then, he has starred in over 20 games, ranging from basic platformers to pinball and even racing games. Kirby is famous for his ability to inhale objects and creatures and obtain their attributes, as well as his ability to float with puffed cheeks. He uses these abilities to rescue various lands, such as his home world of Dream Land, from evil forces and antagonists, such as Dark Matter or Nightmare. These adventures often cross with his infamous rivals, King Dedede and Meta Knight. In virtually all his appearances, Kirby is depicted as a cheerful, innocent, food loving, yet fearless being, always bold and brave.

Go Kirby!

First character I can live with being above Diddy Kong+-Pikachu+Mr. G&W. One of my favorite characters in the series

Welcome to the club you two :3

As far as Robin goes, it was specified (I think in a famitsu article?) that the uses for your spells recharge over time (and the piece actually mentioned the regen is quite fast). If you die, then you will respawn with them fully restocked as well.
Nobody has mentioned exact numbers yet though so we don't know how many uses you get.

Gah. I know we'll never see Metal Cavern, but I'm really hoping Smash U delivers on the stages and adds it alongside a bunch of other 64 stages.

Also Fountain of Dreams, because it's one of the best stages in the series, and you know you want to see it in HD.

I'm not really bothered by the lack of voice because he was only voiced in 1 game as far as I can remember (MM8). Like you said, it's much better that they nailed every Megaman-esque sound effects, from when he falls to the ground, when he dies/falls off, his charged buster sound, to the Robot Master attacks.

He also had his voice in both Mega Man arcade games as well as Marvel vs. Capcom 1 and 2, but yeah, if they're going strictly for this NES incarnation, it makes sense that he's sans voice.

HELL YEAH KIRBY! My Brawl main! Honestly he should have been #1 because he's the best Nintendo character ever, but it's okay, I forgive all of you who didn't vote for him. Begrudgingly, though, and only because it's what Kirby would do.

And thanks for using my quote, Oric!

So my friend showed me that you can actually hear Shulk say "I'm really feeling it" as one of his taunts in one of the leaked videos. It's really faint, but you can hear it.
