PlayStation Network Thread (Vita/PS3/PS4) | September 2014

Q: Did anyone here find clarification on what they were doing with PSP UMD games for Vita owners?

It sounds like you can transfer the game to a Vita if you own the UMD, but what about games that aren't on PSN like Crisis Core? I'm wondering if Sony is gonna being more PSP games to Vita.

[Still hella odd that some PSP games on PSN won't run on Vita, like Daxter] :(

Just got back from that thread. It gave me chills. I was surprised how many kept saying it has no games. I can understand if they don't like the games, but saying it has no games is a bit much.

Ya, them saying "It haz no gamez!" is downright wrong :l. I mean, we got 150+ games coming next year and beyond (not even counting all the great stuff that was announced at Pre-TGS show; Ys and God Eater 2: Rage Burst :D!).

I understand these people want games like Uncharted, Killzone and the like on Vita.....but they aren't coming :l. They GOT those games day one, but the Vita didn't sell.....leaving development of those types of games not reasonable and to expensive.

Either way, the Vita is a platform that has something for everyone across native Vita software, indie games, PSP/PS1 Classics and PS Mobile/Mini's, so people should find something they like on Vita at this point :l.

What region are you in? Because I got Daxter last year on for my Vita on my NA account (it is even in the Vita store) and it runs great :l. Maybe there was an issue with the game instal? That happened to me one time for a PSN game and refused to instal for the longest time until Sony gave me a new code for the game and it started to run again.

Senran Kagura: Bon Appetit is getting a retail release in Japan on November 27 for 4,320 yen, this week’s Famitsu reveals.

Additionally, a combo pack including Senran Kagura: Shinovi Versus will also be released for 7,020 yen.
XSEED pls

Seems that the store is fully (or mostly) updated, but Don't Starve isn't popping as 0.00 dollars when I check out the game. I recall the developers said that the PS4 version is cross-buy with Vita, even though it was on PS+, so it is odd that that the Vita version isn't in my download list or something.

Any answer to this will be nice :D.

It was only for Japan, and only for certain games. Not sure if they still have it going.

So, ah, are these threads now the official meet-up place for VitaGAF?

That's how I treat it. We're too dispersed to hold a Vita talk anywhere else for long.

I'm in NA. Well check this out, just snapped this now:

Top left corner is Daxter. See how it only says PSP?

Now look and the bottom right corner. Lost Frontier is PSP/Vita and Collection is Vita.

I'm still waiting for my Vita in the mail so I haven't tried downloading it or anything, I'm just going on what PSN is telling me, and it appears here that Daxter isn't a Vita-compatable game, just a PSP game.

Hotline Miami and Olliolli had cross buy issues on PS4 but they were fixed very quickly! Give it time it should become free soon!

Okay. I used to come into these threads to check out new PSN releases, but it seems like bizarro land in here with all the Vita talk.

No offense intended. Carry on.

Where the friggin sales at? Why does it take so long to put up an article about those?

The only sale I find that is worth anything is Midnight Club 3: Dub Edition for PSP at 5 bucks :l. Everything else is PS Mini games that are only okay, Danganronpa 1 losing its sale from last week (it is now back at 40 bucks) and thats it on the Vita side :l.

...That is very odd; it was on the Vita store last year when I got it :l. Just typed in 'Daxter' on the Vita PSN Store and popped up with the Jak Collection and Lost Fronter. I can assure you that the game runs and is buy-able on Vita, so don't worry :D.

If it helps, the game is only 8 bucks on PSN (good deal considering the game has a good amount of content).

The thing with the poor way the PSN store is done is everything has to be updated manually. That is why you see a game added, then later you see a sale discount, then later still you see the plus discount added, because each has to be done individually.

For Don't Starve, they probably added the vita version, but haven't done the pass to mark it as cross buy yet. Probably by 5 PM EST it will show up in your list or be $0, but before that time while the store may look updated, there are still passes that need to be made to make sure everything is set correctly.

So give it some time, but if by around 5 it still isn't then there might be an issue, and someone will have probably tweeted the devs already.

Don't let that intimidate you. Jump into the conversation and feel free to ask about non-Vita stuff. This is the PSN thread afterall. Everyone here is pretty chill.

Do you have a Vita?

Okay, thank you for letting me know :D. I have no problems waiting for a free game :); really cool of the developers to even make the Vita version cross-buy even though it was already free early this year :).

They've already confirmed they're localizing both I thought

Very much enjoyed your video and review, and I am super excited to play this today. Reviews seem overall very positive for this, which is not surprising given what I've seen of the new one so far. I just wish I was better at touch teleporting, it always throws me a bit off reaching my thumb to the screen and back to the buttons, but I heard a lot of people saying it was a very useful feature of the vita version.

Thanks! ...sorry about the 30 seconds of silence, editing that out...as soon as youtube is done processing.

Touch teleporting isn't necessary--even the first game was designed without it in mind. It IS nice though and I do wish touch teleporting worked on PS4 with remote play. I never touch-teleport beyond the range of my thumb from the analog sticks on the Vita--otherwise I use the standard teleport. I have big-ish hands though. I also generally rest my hands on both sticks, since I don't use the d pad for it and I usually prefer the bomb to the shot.

Taking refuge from today's Vita pile-up hate thread. On a day where we get to play Don't Starve on Vita. Go figure.

Seems like it was the right decision to avoid that thread after I saw the title.

XSEED pls

Shouldn't Dekkamori be import friendly since it's just a rhythm game?

They've already confirmed they're localizing both I thought

Yeah, but I think he wants a retail edition of Dekkamori.

edit: beaten by Flightmare :(

The general sale of the week, I meant.

Awesome, good to know. I should email Sony, maybe the listing is in error. Because it's listed like that, if you browse the store under a Vita filter, it won't come up.

Here's hoping that PSP games not on PSN make their way there, related somehow to what they spoke about in the conference. Still bothers me that Crisis Core is still UMD-only.

That's sooo far away.

I bought the Velocity 2X DLC on the store but couldn't send it to PS4 for some reason. Does the PS4 auto-find DLC or what? The PS3 system of manually re-downloading DLC was always pretty BS, was hoping they streamlined that.

He wants a retail copy, it's DD only in the west

Oh, yeah, almost certainly not. I'm surprised SK1 got one in Europe but apparently they're even bigger sticklers about that. Kinda weird since isn't the first kinda the worst? It was certainly repetitive even for a beat 'em up. If Shinovi isn't much better (I've heard it is) I'm probably done with the series. Glad to see 'em localized though.

Seems like it was the right decision to avoid that thread after I saw the title.

Yeahhhh I figured that was going to be a shitstorm of "NO GAEMS" and "muh SD cardz"

Oh, sorry if I wasn't that clear then :(.

Here is what I found on the PSN Store:
-There is a Pixel Junk Sale that has all the PS3 games in the series for 1.50-3.00 dollars
-A Rockstar Sale that has a number of there PS2 Classics (Bully for example) for 2.50 and there other games 10-20 bucks
-A great EA sale that has some solid deals. Stuff like Mass Effect Collection for 13.99 with PS+, and the Dead Space games for 4 something per game with PS+.

Sorry if this still isn't much better but this is what I gathered :). Check out the EA and Rockstar Sale though, some solid deals for great games :D.

Did some impulse anime purchases on the PS Store. I should have waited for a better price for both the Atelier games.

Demon Gaze (Volledig spel) €17,99
Atelier Rorona Plus met 3 DLC (Bundel) €17,99
Atelier Meruru Plus: The Apprentice of Arland €17,99
JoJo's Bizarre Adventure: All-Star Battle - Prestige Edition €29,99

Much of that stuff is trash sir, kindly have some class when recommending things.

Seems there's a pricing error, Deadly Premonition Ultimate edition costs as much as the normal ver. of the game

Sorry then X(.

I strongly recommend Bully and the Dead Space games though.

The former I had a blast playing on PS2 :D. From the reviews back in 2006, "It is the Majora's Mask to the GTA series". That statement is something that I think fits the game well. It takes the core gameplay and mechanics of the PS2 GTA games and really does things different. Pistols and Shotguns are swapped with Slingshots and Potato Cannons for example.

The humor and writing is just very well done and some of Rockstars best; they did a damn good job with the world building here. Its small compared to GTA but there is much more to do to compensate for that :D. The Classes have fun mini games to play, the different factions all have there own story trees to go through, Jimmy is a great main character and the ending is well done.

With the Dead Space games, they are a more scary version of Resident Evil 4. The original fits that more then the sequel but point still stands; both have great scary moments :D. The visuals are great, the sound design is also solid and the controls are even better (aiming and moving at the same time is very helpful :D). The second game is more focused on action then the original but still, both are great games :).

I'm just messin' with ya :P
Honestly any of EA's games are better off played on PC, PS3 will have 30 FPS, and the graphics really leave much to be desired...
