How long will this stuff be 50% off? I've never actually ordered anything new from IST.

The first week. If you order a certain amount, they give you an additional 2%. May not seem like much, but it certainly adds up.

Did anyone in here read Furious by Dark Horse? Didn't realize that was also available today.

Awesome, that's a great price on Oz. The hardest part will be hiding it from the missus for three months, hah.

JUST THE TIPS HC
The Tips: : MATT FRACTION & CHIP ZDARSKY
art / cover: CHIP ZDARSKY

NOVEMBER 26 / 96 PAGES / FC / M / $12.99

Just in time to come down everybody’s chimneys this holiday season, the creators of SEX CRIMINALS are proud-ish to present JUST THE TIPS: a curated collection of tips, tricks, moves, advice, suggestions, stories, and confessions, how-tos, do’s, don’ts, and do-agains-but-slower-this-times from the unmissable letters column of SEX CRIMINALS, alongside all-new material specially created for this collection only. Finally, a book to teach you how to not be a sex dumby no more. It’s this book.

Just read Thor:God of Thunder(well all the issues that are actually up on Unlimited)

Goddamn that was good stuff, whatever plans they have for Thor 3 they need to scrap it all and just adapt the God-Butcher storyline.

What are some other great Thor comics that stand up to this?

It's a completely different tone, but I love Thor: The Mighty Avenger by Roger Langridge and Chris Samnee. It has a really nice but short story of Thor and Jane. With amazing art by Samnee.

I also back up the Journey into Mystery recommendation. That run was beautiful.

I was really liking his Red Lanterns and Swamp Thing. Superman Wonderwoman was also real good before Doomed came along.
I'm happy that it doesn't affect Letter 44 and hope he brings his A-game to whatever new Marvel book he ends up writing.

Let's hope Death of Wolverine doesn't suck.

i was too shy to go up to Soule at comic-con and tell him I like She Hulk because he was sitting at the Oni booth signing Letter 44, which I have not read.

Dang, now you guys have me interested in Journey into Mystery as well. The Sif stuff labels itself so that's easy enough, but what else would I be looking for from the title, in terms of collected editions/trades?

Soule has a young alternate reality Charles Grodin vibe.

Thank you for blowing my mind... you made me do a quick Google search on Charles Grodin, where I learned that he was both the dad in Beethoven AND the doctor from this season of Louie.

I'm actually reading JITM vol 1 right now. If you're into the supporting mythos of the Thor comics world at all, it's totally worth the read. I'm assuming it also sets up a lot of the backstory for Loki's adventures in Young Avengers and Loki: Agent of Asgard.

Didn't really like JMS Thor, but the Gillen Thor issues afterwards were cool, Billy Tan aside.

Other good Thor shit

-Early Kirby Thor of course, particularly the Eternal War
-Simonson Thor
-Those first 25 issues Dan Jurgens did with Romita Jr
-Thor: Vikings by Ennis and Glenn Fabry as he fights zombie vikings
-Thor: The Mighty Avenger, tragically cut down before it was finished
-Ragnarok, if you ever wanna see that big event they keep threatening actually freakin' happen
-Blood Oath, Warriors Three boy's adventure kind of thing
-Ages of Thunder one-shot Fraction wrote with Patrick Zircher and Khari Evans

I just read through Second Chance at Sarah. Was a good read, but I felt like the ending was extremely rushed and short. I wish it was longer. :/

I'm still stunned DC not only got around to releasing one trade of the lat 90s Martian manhunter series but now two? Shocking. I need to read the first one and see how it holds up.

So how is five weapons? Any good?

Haha. For the life of me I couldn't recall his name. Had to look up the cast list for The Great Muppet Caper. :)

It's...
It just seemed so pointless to me. It was incredibly angsty.
yeah. It took itself more seriously than i thought it would and i wasn't completely into the art.

Yea, it's a fun breezy, young adult mystery type thing. I dug the original 5 issues, need to jump back on board

IST update guys!!

Oz Omnibus
Deadpool Minubus
Egos Vol 1.
Woods Vol 1.

YAY!

Holy god at that MMW box set. $500 list price lololololol

Doesn't look like there's really anything that catches my interest in this update.

Furious? Yeah. I dropped it after issue #3. It started out alright (not good, not great, just alright) and went downhill from there.

Lol IST got back to me and you could tell this Emily girl was like "Yo, this Zombine dude is crazy. Let's tell him some shit before he chops our fingers off and cuts off all our hair."

She has no comic experience :(

ITS HAPPENING AGAON

But!

But, she isn't Ann Nocenti. Surely, someone with no comic-writing experience is a better option than Nocenti, who has been in the business long enough for her soul to turn into a twisted black thing that derives sustenance only from the suffering of her readership?
