PlayStation Network Thread (Vita/PS3/PS4) | September 2014

Alright, so here's an important question:

If I get MGS(1) on the German PSN store, will it be the original German release? Because I already have that on disc. It only features terrible German voice acting with no alternative language options. I want full English text/VO.
I think you're going to be out of luck. Unless I've heard differently you're going to have to change your region if you want to purchase MGS1 in full English VO.

Edit: Buy Half-Minute Hero, Virtue’s Last Reward, Danganronpa 1 while they're on sale, and buy Danganronpa 2!

Yes, it is the original ass tastic version. I have it on my Vita right now.

Almost unplayable, Liquid sounds like Mr. 2 from One Piece.

That's dumb, guess I'm not getting it then. Thanks guys.

Edit: Guess my second MC will serve as a home for US PSN Store PS1 classics.

Damn, I'm getting so confused with the August/Sept threads being open at the same time. lol Totally my fault for not looking closer at the thread titles. Anyways, I'm only 5 hours into Danganronpa 2...welp. This shit is brutal. Starting to wonder why I like these games. It's like masochism.

I think I realized why the premiere indie game releases are creeping back up to $20 this last couple months... it's so that, when a PS+ subscriber is looking at the store, the discount seems more significant to them when it's only discounted to what the normal price would have been before. Then, when it's free, damn.... they just saved nearly $20! And pricing what's going to be free to most customers at a higher "normal" price, makes the title seem better and therefore, not just some crappy game they gave away.

tl;dr non-PS+ subscribers who buy games day 1 get gouged for marketing purposes. I have a $55 cart that probably would have been $40 last year. Going to wait until I get my $10 back from the last promo to buy this week's releases.

My PS+ subscription ends tomorrow and I checked my games for when it ended, most of them had a counter but Don't Starve (Vita version) doesn't have a counter, it just shows information like normal games. Does this mean it'll be playable even if PS+ ends? And is the Rein of Giants DLC included? Whenever I start a new game it says Reign of Giants has been enabled.

Mmn, more likely that most of what we're paying for is in fact the cost of having a game be cross-buy on PSN, especially day one.

The Vita version of Don't Starve has the DLC expansion included alongside the original game and can be toggled on or off whenever you start a new game.

Yes. You now own Don't Starve Vita (not just PS+ access) and the expansion forever.

Ah, okay.
Is this a bug? Seems weird they'd do that.

Maybe Most Ps+ cross buy games have that "issue". You get something via plus, get the other version for free. That free version count as a normal purchase and you keep both forever.

That's what happened to me when I got J&D Collection on Ps3. So there is that. If this had happened to more people and different games I'd be nice to confirm it.

Today, on my lunch break, I was enjoying some Velocity 2x while in our designated smoking area. I overhear two middle aged moms at my table, one talking about how her daughter wants an Xbox One for Christamas. After a little bit, I overhear one say: "Well that's a neat little handheld game there..." referencing the glory that is Vita. I told them what it is, and just a scratch of what it features and what it can do. I even brought in the "downsides", with the memory card pricing woes, and lack of first party support, which they totally understood, and didn't seem phased by it. Their ultimate response, though?

"Wow, I never even knew something like that existed!"

I laughed, agreed with them, briefly told them Sony does a piss poor job of advertising, and continued talking to the moms about games. Turns out they were pretty knowledgable about games, with one saying she loved the PS2, thinks it was the greatest console yet, and the other lamenting her boyfriends need to own all PS systems, but barely plays on the PS4. One even knew a ton about the PSP, and went on to say that the 3ds was too lame for their daughter. Responding to that, I laughed, mentioned both have great games, but Vita is where it's at!

From there, I turn the conversation to the PS4, bringing the Vita back into the mix, and talking to them about it, and all the glory that comes with owning both. Games, system capabilities, upcoming features, and more. The conversation started to steer back to the XOne, and at that point I started to go an area one of the moms mentioned - how the games take over the tv..

"Not with remote play!" I say, and both seemed to really dig it. We talked for a while more, and when they left they both thanked me for the info on it all, and for the conversation.

In summary, I believe I sold a Vita, and also a PS4 with a Vita to two moms. Not now they were mentioning Black Friday, but that is right around the corner, with even more savings. It feels good. Let's go get them bugs! I mean, go Vita!

Sorry, had to work in another Starship Troopers reference.

Well, I done fucked up... Seems I didn't 'bought' Don't Starve when it was available for PS4 PS+.

How's it looking/playing on Vita anyway?

cool beans

I got the Rising Star Games Magnificent 7-bundle and Deadly Premonition Gold. And the PS+ games.

Thats 14 games in total for 24 €. Not bad.

Did you ask them if they would like to know more?

There won't be any Vita's at Black Friday. You should have asked for their phone numbers and what ever comes next...

This seems like a possible place to ask this, so...

The Sony Gold Headset - White is "limited". Is it REALLY limited or can I wait to buy it?

If they are saying it's limited it probably is. Though you'll still likely be able to buy them later, but by 3rd party at a higher price.

Hey guys, is there any way to choose which friends of my list will appear on the PS3?

Already exceeded 100 friends using the PS4. :/

Danganronpa(1) is now on sale? D:

€24,99?!?!?

nop-cant-deal-with-it-gif.gif

€20 or less and I'll might buy the game ;) (have to buy the game digitally because I have DR2 in digital format :/).

And when will there be a PSN cards sale in my country :X(the RSG games like VLR and Sorcery Saga are on sale too D: ).

Just tried picking up Deadly Premonition Gold as it seems some of the RSG sale is now up in the EU but just getting "You are not eligible to buy or download this content." Guess the sale isn't really up yet...

Are you enjoying Danganronpa?

So far, yes. I wonder if there's some P4 voice actors in there, though. I think I recognised Chie (as Ultimate Fashionista, I wanna say?)? And probably this isn't true but I like to think Monokuma is voiced by the same guy who did Teddy, lol.

Why does Danganronpa say it's on sale on US psn but it's back at $39.99? It's like it wants me to feel horrible for not buying it.

Edit: Looks like I'm a member now.

Yay Sorcery Saga on sale!!!

... Oh wait, it's not on the german store =/

Anyways, bought Don't Starve the instant it hit the store and it seems really good so far!

Count me in as one of the people who bought Danganronpa (1) today. I have to justify that 32GB card I ordered earlier today!

I can confirm that PSOne games are the exact same version that was originally released in your territory back in the day. If MGS was released fully dubbed and translated to German, then the PSN version will also be completely in German.

I know, it sucks. I got FFIX and have to play it in Spanish... or, well, delete it and forget I ever bought it in the first place.

Edit: Oh, and, yeah: it's the fucking PAL 50 Hz version of the game. Honestly, you're better off not buying any EU PSOne Classic.

lol I would have, but I didn't have any cheesy news graphics to throw up to go along with it.

Yea....be their "hook up" for the deals...I like the way you think...

Sadly nope...if you don't show certain friends online that you know are indeed online...I'd say sign off for a few minutes and sign back in. It's very annoying. Tons of games aren't built for 100+ friends, either. I know Hot Shots Vita crashes everytime I scroll through my friends list to send turn based challenges. GTA:Online rarely shows my friends online, but I can see them in the crew status. I had read before that the system would load appropraite friends based off games, iirc, but I doubt that is working as intended..
I did not expect to like Joe Danger as much as I do, such a charming little game.
When I first played the demo on PS3, I was looking for a Trials like game since I didn't want to hook up my 360. I was immediately turned off by it, and deleted it. Now that I have more time with it, I'm with you. I am really liking it, despite some graphical inconsistencies. Like Trials crossed with Tony Hawk, almost. Ripe with content, too, with the "training" mode, career, and course builder.

That's a shame. :/

Thanks for the response.

Vita bros and gals...I finally beat Persona 4 Golden for the first time ever (never played the ps2 original)

Faaaaaaaawk that was awesome, best rpg I've played in a long, long time. Got the "True" ending.

T'was so awesome a feeling I just had to share lol

Yeah, it's a shame. Not gonna support that crap. I'll set up the MC I got now with a US account once my 64GB arrives.

Well, the Spyro PS1 games are the US versions, and ironically they only work on Vita in Europe. So that's something worth keeping an eye on.
That and Resident Evil 2 and 3 is all that's worth something on the European side of the PSOne classics.
