Well then. IST shipped my Hellboy Library Editions... but 1 and 4 still aren't in... so I'm going to have a ton of comics I can't read yet staring at me. Hm...
 
So what should I expect from Fell? Waiting to pick up the collection and frankly I'm stoked. Also managed to snag the graphic novel adaptations of Thomas Ligotti stories
...

Boogiepop, there are less fortunate people in this world who have had none of their Hellboy Library Editions shipped. Take what you can get and read it.
 
Trying hard not to read JC's Southern Bastards spoiler 'til I can grab my books tomorrow. How come it doesn't seem like anybody else is reading this great fucking comic?

Guess we'll have to find out, next couple issues are about Coach Boss and how he came to be.

And let me just say Coach Boss may be the best Kentucky-Fried Big Bad name of them all

Fret not! You're actually in great shape if you have the second Library Edition. Read everything but The Right Hand of Doom and enjoy! Those short stories will not spoil anything about the stories in the first Library edition. Do it!

I'm pretty excited about the Deluxe Scalped editions that are finally dropping.

Fell is magnificent, and I wish that there was more of it. It's kind of a distorted noir story in the vein of Angel Heart...or something. Time for a re-read.

Coach Boss is one of the best villain names I have heard in a long while.

Its just the right side of ridiculous, while being fun to say.

It's a different kind of book that honestly feels like it's in the wrong medium. I really hope we get a show based on this literature. It's fucking art, but what else but greatness would you expect from Latour and Aaron?

Oh neat. I actually do have a bit of a backlog to buffer things out so I'm actually okay, but if it takes IST too much longer to get the rest to me then I'll consider doing that.

Awesome. Whenever I'm trying to get a new person into Hellboy, I typically loan them The Chained Coffin and Others rather than the first trade. IMO, those stories are the essence of Hellboy distilled into its purest form (and don't they affect the events of the overall story until much later down the line).

Marvel is really good at doing these 'real life' theme covers. The "I am Captain America" ones from a while back were great as well.

Shame they're not 3-d.

Was it Ellis or templesmith? I thought templesmith was off doing other work and Ellis got another case of ADD and it faded away.

I hated that it stopped. But the Ellis project that upsets me the most is global frequency. Such a great concept, that is open ended and high energy. Then the pilot wasn't picked up and he moved on. The arrow crew should redo the pilot for the cw. It's tailor made for network tv

I saw a lot of people in the thread complaining/joking/shitting on the concept, but I think these are awesome. They might not stop a single incident of bullying from happening, but they at least help those that are bullied see that they are not alone and that they're not worthless human beings just because other kids are constantly harassing them.

Shit, Uncanny X-Men #25 today was $4.99, despite being solicited at $3.99... It seemed like it may have had a few extra pages. It might have either been that, or that it was issue #25.
 
Fell #10 Script is completed

"Ben's had the Fell #10 script for a couple of years, but his life is massively busy and complicated," wrote Ellis on his Orbital Operations newsletter.

"I know he's broken ground on it, and he knows that when he finishes that issue I'll write another one. But it's not on any schedule, and will happen only when Ben has time and space in his life.

"We are good friends and all is well. I believe I'm also set to write the introduction to his next big project."

Yeah, I just ordered it from TFAW for $7.99.... I'm glad it wasn't one of the $20 variant covers. I should get it in the same shipment as my Rocket Raccoon / Groot ArtFX+ statue. :D

Also, alright Messi. I'm on board. Let's ride the Gotham Academy hype train all the way.

Original Sin is.... basically fine? Surprisingly? It suffers from the "...and here's some teasers for some books we want you to buy next!" thing like these things tend to, but it's inoffensive as fuck for the most part.

I was surprised. Marvel events usually start off pretty well and then take a nosedive around the halfway point. This one wasn't anything spectacular, but it was decent the whole way through for a change. I don't think I'll be buying the hardcover, but it didn't leave a bad taste in my mouth.
