Now before I incur the wrath of the mods for bringing up waifus again, I just realized there were music updates. Completely missed them today (and I'm sure they've been brought up repeatedly already). Wrath of the Reset Bomb sounds good. Was hoping for that one song from Uprising

Also, on a more relevant note, glad to see one of today's remixes was Yuzo Koshiro again; I've loved his work ever since Streets of Rage, and he's still one of my favorite composers in the industry. Still half-hoping to hear remixes from SoR in Smash due to Sonic alone. Then again, I also want Jet Set Radio and Space Channel 5 music in Smash. And tracks from all 3 series in every other video game as well.

Moral of the story: I like the Reset Bomb Forest remix, and especially the XY Trainer Battle remix; the regular song's just so boring, but Koshiro gave it life.

Thats what i like about the majority of the competetitve smash community. Most want unity between the different games' communities even if we don't like a particular entry in the series.
 
Is it Samus day or something?? :D i wish i was here to vote for her! Im surprised she's so high on the list! I thought I was the only samus smash fan lol.

Loved Samus in 64 and melee. Felt like I was actually playing Samus Aran beating up mario and link. Except she needs speed boots and her final smash should be power bomb but meh.

Brawl made her feel weak, slow, floaty, and predictable. Also I hate ZSS. Partially killed a part of brawl for me in that one character change. Happy she's back!

I'd like to know if there is anyone in this thread who wants to get into the competetive community with smash 4. It would be a perfect time for newcomers.

I generally agree with you, but if Koshiro gave the Trainer Battle theme life, he sucked the Reset Bomb Forest dry to do it. I really hope the full version of the track is a little more energetic - I'm still not over how lifeless those synths sound.

Pretty interesting how Wario's logo is there with all the series with revealed playable characters. Could be because of the ATs, but it strikes me odd that Mother and series like Nintedogs and Find Mii aren't there if that's the case.

Where? I can't see it anywhere. Either way, maybe he'll be revealed later this week? I mean, I doubt it since we all just got Shulked, but it's really close to the reveal date (And a lot of people already got hype over the possibility of a Bayonetta reveal today anyway), so it's honestly possible. Surprised it's taken this long, honestly.

They better've made him more like he is in Wario Land/Ware, but that description doesn't even mention he's a badass treasure hunter, just that guy who farts, so I doubt it, honestly.

Yeah, it's the only arrangement I'm disappointed with so far. Hopefully the second half picks up.
 
I'm going to give my competitive scene another shot.

I just hope Canada doesn't become Metaknight country again. It was so sad to watch people drop their mains just to win with Metaknight.

I'm really hoping to! Though, I think a common misconception is that to do so means not playing for fun with friends, with items and such. I'll definitely be doing that too!

Pretty much the same thing moderate people have said around here. "There's nothing wrong with liking Brawl," general acceptance of the fact that different entries in EVERY fighting game series are, well different, and one player noted a positive reaction from the crowd at PAX when he gave Brawl a shout out. Half the crowd responded positively as though they played it. They also said that most Melee players hating on Brawl can't actually play at a very high level and are just hating for the hell of it.

I actually like Melee's mechanics better than Brawl's, but I do feel the need to defend the game against the irrational hate it gets alot of the time (though, on balance I love both games equally, Brawl's stage creator gives it a huge boost).

Also, I just ordered the Wii U + GCN Controller + Adapter and a Wii U pro Controller from Amazon. I've committed, and in Sakurai I trust!

Oh wow, I didn't even notice it in this lighting!

But yeah. Wario's basically a foregone conclusion, and we've already seen his icon, as well as his trophy in the leak. It's probably a slip-up, but I doubt heads are going to roll over that; honestly, since we've already seen Mother items, I'm surprised that didn't just throw in that icon as well, but maybe this means Wario's a starter and those "starting roster" images people are sharing might not actually be 100% accurate (I mean, it has all 3 3rd Parties, Ganondorf, Toon Link, & Luigi right out of the gates. Incidentally I want more newcomers to be unlockable. Hell, make some veterans like Sheik, Charizard, & ZSS unlockable too; I love unlocking things, especially big stuff like characters!).

I'm definitely going to get into the Competitive Smash 4 scene. Been going to a couple of PM Tourneys and I've been growing more and more excited for the new games every day.

Kickass, I wish we had that kind of message spread around more often.

I also love the stage builder despite its limitations. I'd love to see it expanded upon in the Wii U version.

Melia is a goddess. I always main her until late in the game when I have the other characters more fully developed. The reason being is that she is capable of dealing massive damage early on in the game. As a bonus, her attacks hit ether enemies and mechon as well. Boost her lightning attack through skills and equip her with ether gems to increase damage output. But as somebody else already said, you have to main her.

If only I'm in the US, or Japan, or some country where competitive scene is alive, I would've joined already much earlier.

Sadly, the only competitive gaming community here is DOTA.

I'll just be competitive online :p

I definitely hope the stage builder comes back,especially if we can create our own break the targets / board the platforms stages. Even if the dev team can't be expected to create 51 unique challenges for both, they should at least give us the tools to do so.
