Do you know of any gaming podcast with black females/males ?

Gamer Tag Radio has the hip hop vibe to it and one of the hosts is African american

But you should listen to the podcast because it's really good, not because the color of someone's skin

They been around forever and get great interviews with devs.

They had the guys who made kinnect on there once and Paris was like 'yeah I unplugged that thing it doesn't work for me could you make it more consistent "

They don't hold back

Had great Phil Spencer and COD advanced warfare interview too

thanks and the Phil Spencer interview was fun, we got to sit down with him one on one and I told him directly how I felt about Kinect and why game sharing needs to return.

Living in a place where you can get a quarter water/hear the term quarter water isn't exactly an exclusively african american experience growing up in America.
Sorry for derailing a bit, but this statement hit me pretty heavy. Not for any of the racial topic because race doesn't mean anything to me. I view all people as equals, while trying to be cognizant to the struggles that face any person based off of their personal composition. I hope the OP has discovered what they were looking for.

As someone that is mobilized for business purposes you should see West Virginia water. Municipal water is actually sad for a socioeconomically challenged area. It is hard to understand why we continue to avert our eyes from the devastation that much of the state is going through. People their brush their teeth with donated water.

The southern part of the state is full of toxins, wreckage and illness. People there go to work knowing they may not come home still. It breaks my heart seeing this in any community.

thanks for shouting us out.

Our site is thespawnpointblog and our cast is called Spawn On Me. Check us out.

Word, will be sure to check this out.

Cool.

I'd guess you are a straight Scandinavian dude who was born into privlage, spent his parents money on a liberal arts degree, and strives to understand the injustices of others.

Are either of us right?

What are you even trying to do anymore

Dense Pixels has two black guys, one white guy and rotating guests.
Gamertag Radio has two black guys, one asian guy, one white guy and one white girl.

Both great shows.

Aight, sold.

Kat Bailey is a regular panelist on the Press Row Podcast.

UHHH....

I'm not joking, I'm just saying that his race never even comes to mind, which some people have said is just another form of racism, but doesn't seem racist on the surface, which is why it's confusing.

It's tricky because it can either be taken that he's not meeting your expectations of what a black guy should sound like (leans toward racist), or you don't have any set expectations of what a black guy should sound like (ok)

I like Hip Hop gamer. Not because the man is Black, because his vernacular is very much the way I speak being raised and born in Harlem. For me is not about race, but how I relate with said podcaster. With either the way they speak or humor. Is kind of nuts that some people think Hip Hop gamer is an act, when that's not the case. I like the fact that my man rocks du rags and says "nah mean" on some god body shit. None of that "it ain't real butter" flow. And no fucking lip rings and gauges. That's not me.

I don't get this as well. For me personally, he acts almost exactly like one of my irl friends, even to the way he motions his hands.

It's progression. The real thing people want is equality and you shouldn't feel bad for viewing people as equals. Eventually this is the attitude the world will have. We just have to sort some institutional and educational problems is all. The good nature of the masses will triumph in the end.

This is relevant to my interests as well.

Are there any black game designers? Or other types of minorities that aren't white or of asian descent? I'd like to check them out.

Shawn Alexander Allen who is in this thread. Treachery In Beatdown City.
TJ Thomas has a came coming out called Joylancer, super dope.
Ahmed and Khalil from Decoy games made Swimsanity
Tony from Philosoplay

There are lots more out there as well.

How'd that derail work out for you? Take your dipshittery elsewhere.

Nice thread! I've been taking down names and plan on checking out some tomorrow.

I expected to see a fee people in here not understanding why it matters.. In the end some just don't care because as dude said earlier, they're the default.

Every response to the first responses asking the 'why do we need this' is a bunch of dismissive replies and facepalm gifs. Education is the way to tolerance, which he/she stated that they were naive about the problem. Just simply tell him/her, don't belittle them.

OP: I would have said Woolie, but I'm not sure what you're looking for in a podcast. Like humor or gaming discussion in-depth? I agree with the youtube channel (Satch?) being tossed around. Really good critiques on games and what makes them great, really educational and thoughtful.

Got a Playstation 3 and PS+? Download Sports Friends and fire up Bara Bara Ball. Designed by two brothers, literally and figuratively. It's also hella fun.

I'm black, I host a podcast, and I'm not ashamed to plug it! Me and two other friends recently started a podcast titled DRM Gamecast. The DRM is a play on words with the first initials of our gamertags, DOA hed, Rand al Thor 19, and me MR BLACKMAGIK. Feel free to check us out on iTunes, WP, YouTube, and a few other outlets.

Except it's not our job to spoon-feed information that can be located with minimal effort. Google exists for a reason. "Why does representation matter?" Four words. Now if they had did some research and didn't understand, that would be another issue, one with which I would gladly assist and discuss. But this "too lazy to try for myself let me just ask someone" entitled attitude gets no quarter from me. And that's before we get to the dismissiveness of "Why does this matter?" and the ever ironic inherent racism in statements of cultural denial like "I don't see race"*. Furthermore, not seeing how race matters is simply willful ignorance of the world's culture. Or are we pretending that racial atrocities aren't a damn near daily occurrence?

*I'm aware that specific phrasing wasn't used, but it's clear from my perspective that this was the point being posited in these particular postings.

Eh, that is just dismissing the question again. Instead of telling or educating somebody about something when they ask, you are just pointing them somewhere else and ignoring the question. Some people may not know about the racial atrocities that go on, nor would they, unless somebody brought it up, or explained it to them. Being dismissive is lazy and something that nobody benefits from. It is this reason alone that the person probably asked the original question of "why does this matter?".

Well said.

If you aren't willing to put out effort to learn, I'm not willing to put out effort to teach.

Nice reply DreamDrop. Someone with a solid point of view and a very educated response.

Lock in up before it gets out of hand, lets get back to gaming.

Domo. I'm willing to drop this here as to not derail the thread further.

PSA: If you really are willing to learn about why this matters, I do have some resources that would greatly help your educational endeavors. Send me a PM and I'll help you get started. That's the bare minimum effort you'll have to put out for my help.

It gets tiring when every thread about non-white people and women ends up having to be some sort of civic lesson for the ignorant. It's 2014. The OT side has thread after thread about race and gender issues, we even have them on gaming side. If someone doesn't understand why a black person, or a woman, or any other "minority" might actually want to partake in some media that acknowledges their existence, well, it's not always for us to have to explain. To be frank, it's a bit offensive that this even needed to be questioned. Why is it any sort of a big deal that a black person actually wanted to hear podcasts made by other black people?

On topic, I'll be checking out a lot of these recommendations. I spend almost all my time in my car listening to podcasts lately.

I was thinking about this the other day.
I don't follow many podcasts really (followed a bit the Bombcast and got tired, now i follow GTtime) and it would be cool to have diversified cultural perspectives on various subjects.
I mean in my mind, that's the whole point of a podcast, to have a discussion from various points of view.
Of course on many subjects, it may not matter that much, but you never know where different life experiences can bring a new light on a topic.

Hey now, one of the disabilities of white people is not being able to understand what it's like to not be represented everywhere and be the default for everything. So let's not be ableist.

While these guys don't really do podcasts all that often, they do interact with each other almost all the time on YouTube.

BlackB0nd
Shokio
BrokenGamezHD
TheGamer2323
TheRealHard8Times
DocTre81
Nin10doUltra
NeoGameSpark

They're an entertaining bunch, especially when any of them debate with each other.
I think you mean incredibly annoying when they "debate" with each other. And how long did the COLLAPSES or the show us the gaming pc thing with Xbox720 go on again? And BlackB0nd is pretty much just trolling non stop.

Those little bottles of drink. Some of them are nasty.
Edit: They are kinda like a fakey fruit drink.

I kind of feel like I should know this since I am from the US and I am old as hell. Is it just a cheap crappy sugar drink that comes in one of those cheap plastic slim bottles?

That is pretty offensive.

The fact that this has become an argument over cultural divides and the significance of skin colour whilst the number of black podcasters recommended is slim at best is pretty telling

Where I live, everyone gets treated the same, I didn't mean to offend you or anything, it just genuinely seemed like an odd request, because to me, everyone's the same, so it doesnt matter what race they are.
Man, that sounds awesome. Earth could learn a lot from your home world.

Where is that Sesame Street? Does it have a 6' tall giant talking bird, as well?

Just as a recommendation, you might want to actually watch BBC once in a while. Take a break from gaming and NeoGaf and turn on the telly, watch like a few minutes of local news. Or even read a thing or two and I don't mean a gaming site or an instruction manual.
