Super Smash Bros. for 3DS & Wii U Thread XV: Kübler-Ross Edition

That place is great. You're making me wanna go back to that game lol.

The place I'm talking about though is right before the bridge where you
save that kid
there's a small Valley with a bunch of those egg sack enemies that spew out spiders.
Hmm, I don't think I saw that yet. :-) I did come across a cave with some spiders in it that had an ether deposit in it.

Speaking of discoveries in Gaur Plains, there's that 50-foot-tall creature roaming about that looks like a cross between a baboon and a gorilla, with the legs of a goat and the mane of a lion. It killed me in one hit! Terrifying creature... Now I'm constantly panning the camera to watch out for it, lol.

Man the Shulk reveal trailer is so hype, I'll watch it one more time I think.

LOL! Good times...

SO good. I've been watching both the Japanese and English versions several times a day...

The only thing that could have made it better is if they revealed R.O.B. at the same time and had Shulk chasing after him...

Haha, Territorial Rotbart...I've been hoping he shows up randomly along the bottom of the stage, but it'll probably only be Metal Face... =(

From Kamos Guidepost you head towards the giant turtles, go straight past them, past Viliera Hill and you should see a valley in the wall.

Also, that giant thing did the same thing for me haha. That's when I knew the game was something special. I wasn't used to things way above my level just coming in and wrecking me like that yet being more or less peaceful if I'm not annoying it.

Edit: Damnit, Titman, today will be wasted! I have to go play Xenoblade now.

So many sales. They're promoting it really hard.

In a way, at least for Wii U, this is pretty much their make or break to determine whether or not Wii U can feasibly survive another year.

Hell, even the 3DS ship is beginning to sink, so they're banking a lot on these two games.

Territorial Rotbart literally made me gasp when I first saw him. He looks like the giant monkey that Goku turns into under a full moon in Dragon Ball Z. And you don't hear him approach since he walks so softly. I just panned the camera, taking in the sheer scale of the place, when BAM! There he is, walking by. And I was surprised how easy it is to agro him; I think I just targeted him from a distance, and it still pissed him off.

On a side note, a question about "Enchant" in Xenoblade: I always use it in battle against Mechon, because I think it's necessary for my non-Shulk characters to be able to damage the Mechon. Is this correct? Also, I've experimented a bit with the other characters but I mainly play as Shulk. Is it even possible to have Shulk not in your main party, once I get enough characters? It seems like he'd be required on the field at all times since the Monado plays such a vital role in battle.

Also, the future sight mechanic for battles is AWESOME. Brilliant, brilliant mechanic. Being able to see an upcoming killing blow, then the timer before it happens so you can interrupt it by healing or shielding yourself or your teammates, or dealing a strong blow yourself, etc. And it's so satisfying when you see the timer bar SHATTER because you changed the future. In one boss battle last night, it happened on a regular basis; I felt like Raiden parrying Monsoon in Metal Gear Rising, lol (obviously a very different mechanic, but still relentless in its own way).

Kind of. You can eventually get weapons that can hurt the mechon without enchant being active for the rest of the party. That said, enchant also adds damage to your auto attacks I think, so it still isn't completely useless when you have those weapons. Also break and topple still works for damaging mechon

How the hell do we not know anything about a bundle yet?! I want to get a new 3DSXL (mine was stolen 6 months ago) and I'm not sure if I should get a black XL today for $199 or wait for a Smash bundle. I won't get a bundle if it has a tacky design. Just the smash bros logo against a white or black background would be perfect.

There has to be a Smash direct detailing all that soon right? Right?

You need Enchant for your other party members to damage Mechons, though you can topple them and do damage while topple is in effect without using Enchant. There is another way, though you'll discover it once you get Dunban.
Weapons made of Mechon metal can directly damage Mechons without Shulk's Enchant. Ether attacks also can directly damage Mechons.

As for other maining party members, try experimenting. You also basically need to do that in order to improve party affinity other than Shulk. There are different strategies in which you never needed Shulk's Monado abilities. Have fun discovering those.

Very interesting. :-)

Btw, I can listen to Reyn talk all day. He's like the Australian pilot in Pacific Rim (the younger one), minus the douchebaggery.

Of all the best friends in videogames, surely Reyn is the best-est.

Are you also using the skill trees? I forgot that those existed for a whole quarter of the game.

Making gems sure is a time sink in Xenoblade.
I got up to the jungle and realized I hadn't made many. Now I have so many to choose from to make some.

I read the tutorials on skill trees and skill link but I'm not sure how they all work. I have Shulk set to the Integrity skill tree since the ability to block sounds useful. I'm not sure how I "level up" on the skill tree, though. Or what skill-linking with another partner does. It sounds like a skill link makes some of their abilities available to the other character?
