PlayStation Network Thread (Vita/PS3/PS4) | September 2014

IGN updated their top 25 Vita games.

http://www.ign.com/articles/2013/09/26/igns-top-25-playstation-vita-games

Gravity Rush was 25th, now it's not even in the list.

I'll never understand the chip on their shoulder with Gravity Rush. I hate to pull the old "they just didn't like it because X" argument. I think opinions are opinions, and that is perfectly fine. But I can't help but feel that, they put way too much emphasis on the game being "THE SYSTEM SELLER" for Vita. I remember prior to Gravity Rush, they kept writing articles and reviews looking for the system seller (and would often mention when a game wasn't).

I also remember leading up to Gravity Rush, they basically talked about Gravity Rush potentially being that system seller. I saw the same thing when Soul Sacrifice came out. I dunno.

Anyways, I think their criticisms are valid. I mean, the controls can be frustrating at times. And I'm not the biggest fan of how the story wraps up (or rather, I found some of the the 3rd acts missions to be tedious). But on the whole, I really really believe this is a great game with so many positives that outweigh the negatives. But then again, that's just my opinion.

Hrrrm I don't even have 25 Vita games yet.

Than you are either missing out on a lot of good games or your taste for games is very specific.

I currently own 14 Retail Vita games and have about 30+ digital and I still have lots of stuff I want to buy.

EDIT:
Give me a break here.
Just bought a Vita earlier this year and a WiiU not too long afterwards.
Couple that with Steam/PS3 and it's been absolutely nuts.

Anyway let's see.

6 retail:
Persona 4G (haven't started)
Tearaway (beaten)
Demon Gaze (3/4s of the way through)
Conception 2 (1/8 of the way through?)
Ys Velveeta (8-9 hours in? Just recruited a little girl)
Dangan Ronpa 2 (first chapter done)

downloadable?
Uhhh hmm.
I've had PS+ since Soul Sacrifice was a free game. Think that was 4-6 months ago. Also have the original IGC that was around for years (Uncharted, Gravity Rush, Wipeout).

Apparently I was too fast with the judgment ... Sorry!
Keep at it! :D

Mostly I'm only interested in JP games. There are still quite a few titles I want to get (Shinobido 2) but some just aren't getting convincing sales.

If you're not trying basically all the PS+ games you're doing it wrong--start with Velocity 2X

At stage 16 or 17. Really good game.

I just noticed that the Vita version of Arcana Heart 3 Love Max!!!!! is missing from the OP list of new Vita games. The psnstores page is also missing it, for some reason. Aksys did confirm that the game will ship on both PS3 and Vita.

Is PSN down because of Minecraft or something? US too or just EU?

Is LOVE MAX!!!!! a full priced title or what? I want to own it some day because of that ridiculous cover. I am good with money.

this is wrong, no SAO

They couldn't handle the penetrations

Does anyone have any idea when the credit from the summer promotion (Swapper, Rogue Legacy, Counterspy, Hohokum) is supposed to be put in our wallets?

This is the third time in a row, over the past couple weeks, that I've tried to play Thief and couldn't, because it was unable to connect to the server to verify the license. It's either a sign not to buy digital games, or not to play Thief - I'm not sure which.

did you set your console as primary?

Is this your primary account? If not you can't play it until you switch it.

It probably should have occurred to me to try that. There are two PS4s in the house, and the other one is set as primary at the moment. If the network is going to be down this often I may have to rethink that.

I've been playing FF X for the past few days. Just received the Aeon
Shiva
. Up until now it's been pretty crappy. I thought that the "press forward to win" design came along with FF XIII. The characters are uninteresting. Tidus is... well. I think that a mop would be more useful to the story, at least you can clean the floor with one.
Does the plot get any better? As in: will anything happen? FF XIII at least had some nice views from time to time, this one seems so uninspired in pretty much every direction.

It's not even a matter of opinions - I mean no matter how many flaws the game might have had - rating it below Plants vs. Zombies is just plain insulting.
And speaking of flawed games - Escape Plan literally only had its visuals going for it (which are really nice, admittedly) - and if that's enough to enter 25, GR should be there by default.

That IGN list is atrocious....for a site that's supposed to be about gaming, they really have blinders on when it comes to this device. So many great games not on the list, while cell phone games, and ps minis appear in it. Yes Velocity Ultra is awesome, but two times on that list? I used to really like IGN years and years ago, but now I laugh anytime I see almost anything they do. It's a shame.
but uh...Stardust Delta? It's not even as good as the PS3 game IMO. This is why I don't do lists though.
I have to say I think that SSD is leagues above the original SS. Yes, it removes one weapon/asteroid type, but I feel that just streamlines the game more. In the original SS I would only ever use two weapons anyway, as one (rock crusher I think) was great at two types of asteroids, mainly leaving the Gold Melter. Which is where SSD has it, with the two weapons and asteroid types. I've played tons, and tons of SS & SSD, to the point that I am #1 amongst my 250+ friends list (all I care about xD to HECK with the world standings...), and SSD is almost perfect to me. The extra modes are awesome, and everything just plays so well. Also, screw any Delta changes/controls, I'm 100% Pure all the way. I wish something would be added to them, because both games came out very early in both consoles life cycles, and could stand to be reintroduced into the PS lifecycle again. People need to play this game!

Yep. Set as primary the one you'll be using the most. Though the option to have a "secondary console" with all the perks of primary but only for that account (and not the others in that console) would be nice.

Finally got a shipping email for Danganronpa2. Now the long wait, as the risk of encountering spoilers grows.

Gravity Rush was 25th, now it's not even in the list.

A top 25 list of Vita games that leaves out Gravity Rush, Soul Sacrifice, and puts Danganonpa at 15 is just sad :/

Edit: Actually, what's even sadder is that the first thing people see when watching that video or reading the article, is a mobile game that everyone's already played to death :/

DAFUQ..

For the first time in months, Wife and kids simultaneously fell asleep at 10PM, I wanted to play some damned Last Of Us multiplayer without guilt in the next morning with 3 hours of sleep, and I'm greeted with this "maintenance" bull-crap.

If these are going to occur so frequently, I want 2x of the days that these happen added to my Ps Plus membership duration, dammit. But I can't get today back. Today was a golden opportunity for a fellow gamer that can otherwise only play during Vampire hours.
