Super Smash Bros. for 3DS & Wii U Thread XV: Kübler-Ross Edition

Bugfixes, yes. Taking feedback, no

But bugfixes for bugs/glitches discovered on the 3DS version? I mean, clearly as soon as the game went gold, they dropped it and moved all available resources to Wii U, but will that team have ANY time to take ANY bug reports/feedback from users into account?

I don't know what their dev cycle is like, but it's at most... 2 months? Obviously, Wii U is feature-complete and probably has been for a while... but I'm doubtful, myself. Just wondering.
Hmm waddle dees are removed from both dedede's movetset and his final smash o___O

...waddle dee DLC character confirmed.

Don't eat him...

If we got DLC characters for Smash 4. I would like y'all to imagining this with me,

You finally finished with your errand, work or school then you just arrived at your house. First thing you would do is turning your preferred version on and went to EShop to purchasing the characters bundle. It's only 10 minutes to complete the downloading and installing process. You happily start up the game and went straight to game mode to only notice that DLC characters are still missing. Now you just realized that characters are unlockable characters despite the fact they are downloadable character. How would you felt?
Mad that we got DLC characters at all. I'd pay them 5 bucks just to leave the game alone.

Wait wut.

Retail demos are going live in Japan?

DAMN. So much hype!

How are we going to last these three weeks? ;_;

I need a plan of action.

Woah, only physical retail demos? Nothing on the E-Shop?

Yup, kinda like best buy demos in the US.

At minimum, I'm expecting to learn the true starting roster, if it does indeed match that eshop image.

At best, i'm hoping to learn about ice climbers returning because someone accidentally unlocked them.

Realistically, i'd just like impressions of some of the newer newcomers.

I wonder if there is enough time between 3DS release and Wii U release to take feedback/bugfixes into effect for Wii U.
I'm pretty sure the Wii U version is already in the bugs/glitches test phase of development so if people find an annoying glitch in the 3DS version, I can see them fixing it for the Wii U to ship a "less" glitched game.
Any fix for 3DS will be handled via online patch but Wii U definitely still has some time to fix any problem.

I would play a single vs match. I would have probably completed the requeriments for unlocking those characters by the time DLC is released :p

What if they don't have those requirement. If it has silly requirement like playing Diddy 25 times to unlocking Dixie Kong.

As is typical for Nintendo's flagship titles, yes.

Nintendo's silly.

A demo would significantly boost sales, nope, too stubborn.

But really, if a Smash demo did happen, I'd want it to be limited to like three characters, two minutes on two stage choices, or something.

They'd probably limit it to 10 matches too, which would be awful. I hate how they do their demos.

Demos don't always boost sales, in fact, more often than not, downloadable demos can hurt sales.

They have 0 need to spend the time/money/resources on making a demo for eshop for a game that most people were going to buy anyway.

True, but all teh 3DS haturzz would be able to eat crow before release.

Yeah, I don't think DLC characters would come with any sort of unlocking requirements, unless we're talking of free DLC. Nintendo's getting pretty good at this DLC thing, and if the MK8 stuff is any indication, they're not going to make any of the extra stuff unlockable. Think about less savvy customers who would be confused about why their recently purchased stuff isn't in the game. It doesn't make sense.

Also, didn't the latest Mario & Luigi game have an e-shop demo? Doesn't it count as a flagship title? It sure is silly that Smash didn't get one. I would have gladly accepted a 1-stage, Mario vs. Kirby 3-stock match demo.

I don't consider it a flagship title, at least based on sales. Stuff like Mario Kart and the Mario Platformers get kiosk demos, but nothing on eShop.

So the Japan demo isn't even a fully rolled out, in store demo? More like just a demo event? Meh. We've had enough of those, just go get the game Japan!

Maybe there we'll see something interesting from the updated version I guess.

Actually, the hardest part of bugfixing is figure out the bugs. Once you know what doesn't work, you can fix it pretty easily
unless you're EA

Sometimes. Bugs found later in development are harder to fix, and then any fix you make for that has to be thoroughly tested to make sure it didn't break anything else.

Too bad it will most likely die as everyone migrates to the 3DS OT :P I'm sure the PotD (even if Wii U version-related) will get discussion on that thread too, so this one is probably going to be superfluous.
If the PotD focus completely shifts to the WiiU version after the 3DS release, then it wouldn't be very nice to flood the 3DS thread discussing PotDs ;p

Just do it rusty's real deal baseball style.

Maybe the more trophies you've unlocked, the cheaper the DLC is. Maybe you can spend coins to make DLC cheaper. Reward you for playing the game.

As good as that sounds, I really wouldn't want your skill to affect how much you pay for something.

That's what I'm hoping for

I actually doubt anyone will mind, considering both versions are closely related, and a Smash fan is a Smash fan regardless of the platform :P I guess we'll see.

It should become more expensive the more you play. You know the nerds like me are going to pay up. And that way everyone's scared not to buy it, for fear of financial ruin.

I'll keep this thread alive by myself. Believe it.

Depends on the bug, and how deep it goes, but yeah. Ideally, you'd design your software in a way that's easy to be bugfixed, but not everyone does that. Someone w/ nintendo's track record hopefully has good software design principles.

Most of smash 4's trophys don't require skill, just time and dedication, since you can seemingly unlock a huge portion of them via coins. The challenge trophies are likely in the minority. Maybe less than 10%.

You get coins just for PLAYING. Playing well means you earn them faster, but anyone can earn coins.

Got in an argument with a guy at Gamestop today because he was insisting that the Smash Bros. XL will actually be the New 3DS XL model

Shame :/ I always wonder how people can be SO confident. Even if I know i'm right, if someone tells me that i'm wrong, i'm at least open to them proving how i'm wrong, rather than insisting that I'm right.
