Awwww... I was hoping he wouldn't get struck too hard by the nerf bat.

But it's still a bit early to be saying this. Falco completely changed between Melee and Brawl and wound up top-tier in both games.

(but yeah Falco too for how a drastic overhaul in playstyle doesn't necessarily mean doom)

I am curious to see how Luigi is in this game. Has there ever been a badass Luigi in the competitive scene?

And just from what I saw in the E3 demo (I didn't play it, mind you, I just saw whatever videos were uploaded to YouTube,) it looks like his dash attack has been buffed: it seems to trap people more easily than it did in Brawl, only knocking them away in the final hit.

Utilt being stronger is kind of insane, it was already strong in Brawl... maybe it's because of the larger ceiling they buffed it? Down B still kind of being useless doesn't surprise me. :/
 
Has this been discussed before? What do you guys think Shulk's neutral b (or whatever button changes his stances) custom moves will be? Do you think each variation of it will just change the order in which you shuffle them? I really can't imagine what they would do with it.
 
Galacta Knight's spear is PUNY.

It would look super weird to have him swinging a spear like it was a sword, though.

I was making a joke about E3 itself having a dash attack.

Maybe he means that it does less damage or more/less knockback?

...I should have seen that. Sorry, I'm dumb.

If that's true, it's a weird nerf. I know the Treehouse people were asking for feedback at E3, but I can't imagine tons of people were complaining about how OP Luigi's dash attack was.
 
About Link's recovery compared to past games

A. Maze. Ing. Covers more distance and tether is faster. He may not be PM good, but link got dem buffs.

About blue fire Ike and tasty abs, then in regards to palette swaps
Yes and delectable. No real changes. Alt colors are SICK.


There's one that makes it look like he's dressed in onyx armor. Lots of his alts from brawl just look better now with his new dsign

fair is now his claws, so super sped up. Forward B is awesome though I doubt we'll see it in 1v1 too often, it has insane knockback. Deals self damage on startup and then 10% on contact. jab has improved in range and speed

About move being Flare Blitz
Yupp, that's exactly what it is. Same animation as XY

About Greninja and Pikachu
You posted this right before I took a break so I felt guilty lol. But I'm happy I can do something like this, always been a dream of mine
he's insane. Shadow sneak is hilarious and fun. His circle shadow is wht you move and pop out of so it's hard to see on the original 3DS's screen tho. He's fast and his smashes (especially up smash) are all good kill moves. I also got a spike with his dair, but it's a divekick so be careful
I did not, but Zipzo's friend played him quite a bit. I got thundered by a pikachu during an aether tho which was unexpected

It could just be worse by the dev team's own testing or something -- as in, it wasn't any public feedback that got it changed but internal feedback. Or, maybe something about the engine changed with regards to DI/SDI between the E3 build and the retail release.

I guess we won't get much explanation about how it's nerfed right now until next weekend.

Marths tilts are like melees, but you can only rack up 3 hits in a row max for about 18%. Sonic seems slower and has one good aerial.

R.I.P Marth (although, Fsmash tipper at 125% isn't bad IF it's from the middle of, say, FD or Battlefield -- I should preface I'm not being serious in general though loool).
 
Stinks that Ike sounds about the same. I think Sakurai views him as an FFA player, and that's about it. Oh well! Excited to see his alts. An "onyx" colored alt makes me think it's a Black Knight themed colorset.
