PlayStation Network Thread (Vita/PS3/PS4) | September 2014

I know that feeling. It's part of the reason why I gave up on trying to get perfects.

While we're on the subject, I basically finished the PDF 2nd OT yesterday. Too bad we still have over 2 months before the game is released though. :(

Yeah, sucks that we have to wait till November but this gives me more time to perfect the rest of the songs.

I have no clue as to where do people get this idea that Tearaway would do well on PS4. Just look at Pupetteer as a recent example of Sony "promoting" an oddball 1st party platformer. And that had an 80+ M install base to land on.

Actually I think Puppeteer would be amazing as a remastered PS4 game. It looks amazing.

I tried the Pupetteer demo on Vita but it just wasn't for me, the visual style was neat but it was just a giant tutorial.. :(

As opposed to a new IP that's perfect for a new platform with cute characters and great potential of use with DS4? Puppeteer's sales have nothing to do with how Tearaway is going to perform. Not seeing this doom and gloom going on with Tearaway when Sony is going to market the hell out of it to families looking for a kid friendly title. They will eat it up.

I remember when it used to be Monthly Threads for the Vita, but I rarely posted at the time like I do now :(. It's sad to think that outside these 2 topics that the Vita gets so much hate as it does. I love my Vita and own such a mass amount of games on the system that I worry I'll never be able to fully complete my backlog on here just like Steam, so I know there are plenty of great games on the Vita. There are tons of games which I have an interest in and I still don't own yet like Disgaea 4, Neptunia (I still don't know whether this is good or not, never played the series before), Toukiden. Plus there are other good games coming out this year also. Plus Danganronpa series alone makes the Vita worth owning to me, these games are amazing.

Wanted to bring this post to the next page, as I feel the same.

I wanted that game for my Vita so bad.

I actually find that I post in the thread less as it has become too focused around the same 5-6 users and the conversations have become little more than an echo chamber for niche Japanese games. The same top posters every month talking about the same few styles of games with predictable hyperbole.

Trying to find actual information about games, sales, promotions, etc is almost impossible. :(

Don't new threads usually get made for actual sales and promotions?

A kid friendly title drowned in an ocean of gritty shooters and AAA QTE and explosion fests. It will do as well as Zombi U. And this is a smaller install base, to boot. The audience just isn't there for this kind of title on PS4 (or Vita, looking at the numbers). Hell, I wouldn't be surprised if they try to release it at a packed month again, like, same day as Call Of Duty or that sort of thing.

Tearaway should lainch on a "weak" month like April or Summer imo. Fall season and February/March are to crowded.

Didn't Tearaway launch on the same day as Mario 3D World, Zelda A Link Between Worlds and the Xbox One Launch? That might've hurt it big time. The game was great and deserved way more attention and sales than it got. I still can't believe Sony choose to release it on that day of all days, they should have delayed it to that Jan or Feb

Well shit, that sounds optimistic for GR2 on PS4 already! :D ...
;A; Sony doesn't know what to do with these titles anymore

If WWS were smart, they'd release it at those months as to have more presence and get more sales. But of course they'll do it the "SCEA" way and release it the same day as Battlefield, CoD, the new Apple Console, what have you.

Wow. This is one great analysis. I never knew the joys of these amazing games unless I saw them in magazines. I've been wanting to pick up the NG downloads from PSN, or the collections of the games. I have a better understanding of what to look for/want now. Thanks, your expertise with these definitely shows.

The thing is: I've never been too critic with emulation issues. Everyone says that all backbone ports are garbage, but they were acceptable for me because they were pretty close to the real thing.

All the recent scej game have bombed

Lol.

The posts in here usually do reflect what's going on in PSN, although bigger news tend to get their own threads. Don't take this the wrong way, but I've seen you mention something like this every month. Should those 5-6 users stop posting about niche Japanese games and instead have this thread mostly be a compilation of new releases/sales/promotions that you can find anywhere else on the internet? I honestly don't know what we can change at this point.

Honestly I wish they'd just split the Vita stuff into a community thread and then those people who spam this thread with a 200+ posts of anime in jokes, waifu bullshit, and what not can have their own space. The top three posters in last month's thread had 1000 posts between them in this thread in a single month. It has stopped being useful and has turned into a social club for a handful of people.

And yes, I think that the monthly PSN thread should focus more on the new releases/sales/promotions as that is the actual purpose of the thread. The OP doesn't get updated, and as such usually ends up missing information that people actually want instead of 250 posts a day about Persona and Danganronpa, etc.

Fair enough, I completely agree with you (along with many others in this thread probably). The problem is that the mods won't budge.

And this wasnt enough to get a retail release for delta?

I was told that White Knight Chronicles sold over 100k in the US. SCEA passed on the sequel, which D3 picked up, leaving the PSP game to JP/EU obscurity.

Unless it's Gran Turismo (lol GT6), SCEA is horrible at handling Japanese games.

finished DR1 Chapter 2
sigh. I really hate the mini-games and all those aiming and stuff during the Class Trials.

and this game doesn't make you feel good at all
so does a Star next to the character's report mean you mixed the character out?

What happend to Big Fest? Did they announce a Release Date for it? For some reason it just came up in my mind and it looks like something i would enjoy. Last news i read was that it's coming to Ps3&4 as well...
