There are a lot of Mother 3 fans in SmashGAF. It's a game everyone should play.

Also, Lucas seems more popular with people in general thanks to his more intuitive smash attacks and his more forgiving recovery.

Oh, it certainly is. I played through the fan translation and it's just... well, really indescribable. It's just a wonderful experience.

Never felt to me like Lucas was more popular than Ness, though. News to me!

EarthBound. Mother 3 is all kinds of excellent, but it doesn't quite compare to its predecessor in my opinion. Mother 3 felt a lot "smaller" and more quaint compared to EarthBound, and I felt it was a little less memorable for it.

Oh, whether or not you believed in the leak is irrelevant. As I said, Gematsu leak is true, Wii Fit Trainer (along with Villager and Mega Man) had very slim odds, and he was right. But that doesn't change what you said.
What bothered me was that you - a game journalist, someone who writes about video games - used literally as figuratively. I figured that, as a writer, you would be above using hyperbolic statements like that. That's why I somewhat lost some respect for you. Not much, just a little. Not that that matters anyway, I'm just some random guy on the internet.


"Literally no one ever guessed Wii Fit Trainer" - you didn't add "nearly" in here. And here you go, somebody guessed in back in the Brawl days.

I don't know if this was intended for other naysayers, but once again, I have no qualms with you believing the Gematsu leak. You clearly have reasoning and logic behind it. My issue was with the word literally.

Look: I'm a fan of GameXplain, and I like you too. I was on #teamfake with the recent ESRB leak, and I was wrong. I doubted the Gematsu leak, and I probably will until I see Chorus Kids evidence that they were ever planned. I'm just naturally doubtful. However, I'm totally willing to accept that it was based on some outdated information if I see some words from Sakurai or some evidence in the code that they were planned. That doesn't mean I dislike or disrespect believers - honestly, I have the more difficult position this time around.
My issue was purely about the usage of your language, nothing more, nothing less. I'm sorry if I came across as being aggressive, or if my intentions were ever misinterpreted. I have a tendency to do that.

Well, my apologies if I overreacted earlier; it did seem like you were being aggressive so I reacted in turn. Either way, yes, my original statement was little hyperbolic as you pointed out, but no more so (quite a bit less, actually) than all the people who are claiming Chrom means Gematsu was always bogus. Either way, it does seem like you're splitting hairs at this point just for the sake of doing so, as a couple of others have pointed out. We all understand that it's technically possible for a small number of people somewhere to have randomly corrected Wii Fit Trainer; we also all understand that the chance of Gematsu just throwing out a lucky guess for Wii Fit Trainer and just happening to have that plus almost all of their other "guesses" end up correct is unbelievably small.

Remember that guy who said Pac-Man wasn't an iconic video game character and Mega Man was?

if any of you (in america anyways) have even a slightly normal sleeping schedule, i'd be surprised. POTD and the Dojo have both ruined it for me, arguably permanently lol.

My sleep schedule is already pretty fucked because I work from home, but yeah, the PotD certainly hasn't helped matters.

I prefer Mother 3 for the plot and the characters, I felt like they were more developed. Although I played it before EarthBound and I was only 13, maybe it's nostalgia. I really love both.
