Did a heap of catch up over the weekend.

Late to the party, but last week was a great week for releases. I'm still loooooving Rocket Raccoon and #3 was great as usual; the art alone makes it worth a pull. I'm liking where the story is going too.

Deadpool vs. X-Force was a fun romp, like most of the "Deadpool vs." topics. Art was nice. Little bit "pointless" in the end, but that was part of the fun.

Iron Fist, Star-Lord and Spider-Man 2099 were also great, continuing my enjoyment of these new pulls. I didn't know much about Iron Fist before getting back into comics for the NOW line, but Iron Fist is really catching my interest. Art is fantastic and it's one hell of a ride. Star-Lord had some great dialogue, and Spider-Man 2099, well - feels a little like filler for Spider-Verse event but I just love 2099 Spidey.

And then there's Moon Knight #7. I thought Wood did a pretty good job keeping that solo action thing happening that we saw in the first six editions. It's not as perfect a combination as it was, but I'm keeping it on my pull list because - well, Moon Knight - and I think it was a decent read.

At the moment, I work super hard for $9.49/hr. And on top of that, I'd like to be working 40 hours a week, but instead I get anywhere from 15-30 hours depending on the whims of the person who makes the schedule that week.
If Bii is serious, $26/hr would literally be a dream come true and the greatest thing that's ever happened to me.

The Asbury Park one is moving to the Meadowlands next year because the people who run the venue in Asbury are scumbags and doubled fees on them. Cliff Chiang,JH Williams, Steranko and Chris Claremont were the biggest names for this years.

Did you go to Special Edition NYC this year? It got pretty crowded but seemed like the only long lines were for the Allreds and Gail Simone. Plus you got to buy 4 Day NYCC tickets ahead of the normal onsale date.
 
Every...single...time. EVERY time I come into this thread (which is more and more lately) You guys are talking about something that just sounds awesome and I want to buy it. Beasts of Burden? I want it. And I still have an itchy finger for that damn Doom Patrol omni. Perhaps when I get paid Friday. (I really shouldn't but I can already tell I'm gonna do it.)

If you get that Doom Patrol omnibus, you will most definitely not regret it. I had slightly cold feet when I bought it because it was a total blind buy, but it's now my favorite comic of all time.

I totally want Doom Patrol! And X-Statix! And Blacksad, and now that beasts of burden, and I want to catch up on Uncanny X-Force (yeah...I've got Marvel Unlimited but damn it I want to own it. I wanna own Hickmans F4 omni too. Foolish me.) Animal Man. Planetary. SO MANY COMICS! Oh man I gotta catch up on Invincible too. And Fables. All the comics I dropped like 3 or so years ago when I dropped comics. And of course I'm now getting back into comics when I should be saving money up for moving.


But yeah I'm totally gonna buy Doom Patrol on Friday. What's up with that Instock Trades site? They are cheap but slow to ship?

They're cheap and the books are shipped with the utmost care, but yeah, the shipping is very slow. Totally worth it though.

If you have a larger order on IST (>$100), break it up into one order of ~$50 and another of $50+. That way, you get another 2% off the second order. Not a huge discount (e.g, ~$3 on the Doom Patrol omni) but it is something at least.
 
I'm probably pretty biased because I bought a Multiversity page that features Dr. Fate but I'm really liking him in this JSA Omnibus and looks so badass!

Yea he looks great. One of many johns pet recovery projects. He worked to untangle Dr. Fate, Hawkman and black Adams messy continuities

I refrain from bringing up the fact that I read stuff like Crossed and Tarot Witch of the Black Rose in here because I'm pretty sure everyone in here looks down on those kinds of books. This place is really friendly though

I didn't and I've basically been kicking myself for not going to the SENYC this year. I really wish I had gone.

Woah. Is the first Bendis Guardians of the Galaxy hardcover volume gone out of print? Damn movie. I kind of wanted to catch up on it while I read The trial of Jean Grey

Check out your local Walmart. They might have it for $5 in their book section. Mine also had Brubaker Captain America Vol. 1, Amazing Spider-Man (Slott) Vol.1, and some older Avengers Vol. 1 for $5 each. Not bad options.

EDIT: All are TPBs not HCs, sorry. Don't know if that is a necessity.
