I hope people don't get rosey-eyed and view this as some great moral move made by the Ravens.

That video was a PR disaster waiting to happen. They just cut the cord before shit really hit the fan.

Still, it had to be done, glad they found their cojones and did something.

This. I bet that the NFL and the Ravens knew exactly what happened in that elevator. And now that the video is out, the Ravens had to do what they had to do to avoid it being a PR nightmare. They definitely have some questions to answer after this fiasco.

Yup, this needs to happen. There are only two ways this played out:

1. RG didn't see the video, but still knew exactly what happened and only gave rice a 2 game suspension which was laughable.

2. RG did see the video, and saw exactly what happened with his own eyes and how disgusting it was and still only gave rice a 2 game suspension, which is deplorable.

My money is on #2, and he was banking on the video never making it public.

He needs to step down.
