A guy earlier said he hit 15 after about 11-12 hours. But seriously, at 20 you still have the heroic strikes, and the Nightfall strikes, and the Raid (with two distinct difficulties), and the daily story challenges, and the weekly Strike challenges. That is not even bringing in PvP and the Legendary armor/weapon sets. Most of the content starts at level 20^^
 
Guys, after completing a mission what's the difference between it being shown as a single star or a star covered in laurels?
 
What's the deal with subclasses?

So you rank up and you get to choose an ability. As you rank higher it takes more exp to rank up again. When you switch to a subclass however, you lose all your previously chosen abilities... but yet it still requires you to earn all the exp from rank 15 to 16 before you can choose your first ability again (instead of like you were going from ranks 1-2 again)

That would take forever. Who would want to do that?
 
Got to play for 90 minutes tonight. XBL servers didn't give me any problems, but there weren't a lot of other people around. 3-4 am does that I suppose. I'll dive in some more tomorrow, I bet there's many more players on.

during the preload, i had 3 destiny files (game, update and vanguard) which had an error so i deleted the line in my notification thinking i will download on september 9 again

now on pstore , it says installed already (for vanguard , as well as the skins thing and addons)


but beforehand it said failed, and i cant download again....so what is to check to be sure?

To keep the feeling of unlocking new stuff going longer^^ And if you know that the new subclass is more befitting your play style^^
 
Haha, I woke up and not only did the OT1 reach it's goal of the remaining 25 pages @ 100ppp, but now this one is already 13 pages in. Incredible DestinyGAF!

Ok, fom that I would expect the last 5 levels maybe to take another 10 hours or so. So maybe 25 hours till level cap. And yes there will be late game content but I am not sure if that is enough to keep me going for 6 months or so until the dlc comes. I still have the feeling the game is beeing artificially stripped down to an expanded demo to get everyone to spend a lot of money for dlc 1 to level 30, dlc 2 to 40 etc....
 
The Destiny sound profile for the Headset Companion app is unique to the Gold Headset. The Elites have no Destiny profile. Just downloaded the update and nada.

Bummer man.
 
I feel like hand cannons are almost a bit much lol. I seem to get a LOT of head shots with the shitty lvl 4 one I have. A suspicious number when I'm basically winging one at an enemy in the middle distance.

They sure seem viable now though ;)
 
Everytime I pop in this thread I want the game so damn much.

But I can only get one more game this year and its this or driveclub...

I know, I know - play PS+ driveclub and get this... but I get motion sickness in FPS so I think driveclub will get more play time.

also OT title is perfect.
 
I'm sure this has been asked somewhere in the hundred or so pages since I went to bed, but what's going on with the metacritic user score? Are a few troublemakers just spamming it with low scores? Maybe not everyone agrees this game is a 10/10 but there's no rational justification for scores that low.
 
Finally! It's the day!! I didn't get an email from Amazon until 7pm last night, but it's all on track for delivery by the time I get home from work. Let's do this!
 
Woke up to OT2 from last night. You guys don't disappoint! Dat title too tho.

Hope you yanks finally in are enjoying the game as much as I did for a few hours
 
And now begins the long wait for the postman to arrive. Wish our postal service could get our rounds done before 4pm for once. I almost feel like the kid I once was waiting for that copy of Mario 64 to come through....almost.
 
Alright, through the available beta content (including the moon mission). Super disappointed that I was wrong about them taking spoiler-y stuff out of the beta, story was just as laughably disjointed and barebones as I remember it. Gameplay's still excellent, though. Now comes the real test.
 
Is there a way to delete characters?

The create-a-character options are great, but unfortunately they only give you one static angle to look at your creation. So I went through about 4 variations before I landed on a character I was happy with. How do I delete the others?

Is there no clan tab/page ingame? How the hell do you set up your group/clan? Thought I had It figured out during the beta but this shit is ever so confusing :/
 
So I preload on xbox one, then set my alarm for 5 am to play a bit before work and now Destiny is "installing content". It's been ten minutes and I'm at 4%. Remind me why I preloaded again Microsoft?

F an all digital future. Shit blows.

Can't tell if people are just trolling the user reviews or if gamers are genuinely troubled by the perceived lack of content/depth in the game.

Either way it is surprising that none of the platforms are over 4.2 total score based on user reviews.
