So it arrived. Installed it and ready to make my beastin' warlock.

Too bad I have to go and be social all afternoon and tonight so I won't get to play much.
 
Reached level 6 and completed all the Earth story missions. Seems like a good place to stop for the night morning.
 
Well completed the tutorial, would have gotten MUCH more done... If the game hadn't finished installing around 5:40 AM... :(

If it's any help, the PS4 has this as well. It was pretty quick when I did it last night at midnight UK time (no more than a few minutes) but I suspect it dragged when the US came online later on.
 
FYI, the expansion pass is also available for free download if you went digital guardian. Might as well grab it now.

i don't understand why you can't rotate your characters during the character creation.

That's good to hear really because I loved them in Alpha but in Beta they were weaker.
 
Anyone on PS3 got the Digital Guardian Edition stuff working? If so, how? The DGE extras aren't showing up in my downloads list, or anywhere else.

Woke up at 5am to play, but now have to get ready for work. At least I was able to create my character and play the first few missions. I also received the beta emblem, even though I couldn't play the final day as I was on vacation.

Also, the code redemption process on the Bungie website is an absolute pain in the ass. Redeeming codes one by one (yes, I know the script trick to redeem the 25 codes at once), but then to have to click Use Now each time is annoying. I get people might want to redeem codes on different accounts, but at least have a use now option that allows redemption of all codes on one account at the same time.
 
I love the game to death other than the fact that every boss battle is poorly designed and to make up for it, they make it a "Darkness Zone" or whatever. It's a gimmick that's just exhausting. All Boss fights thus far have been a horde of respawning enemies, a couple of big enemies with shields, all in a Darkness Zone. It's gotten old quick.

Hopefully Sony will have the problem fixed tomorrow. For now, it's 4:28 AM where I live, so it's off to bed. Great game so far!

For the PS4, might be the same on PS3

Library -> Destiny -> Related Items -> Download Expansion pass / CE stuff
 
Awesome OT name ha ha.

All I'm worried about is how long the campaign is...
I'm sure it'll last me a while just for multiplayer and just getting new weapons and trophies and etc. But Earth just seems to have the missions from the beta, hope they expanded on that.

That's Metacritic user scores for you, full of trolls. Having said that, if a game is highly rated among gamers, the user score does usually end up reflecting this, since the trolls and console warriors who are giving 0's to exclusive games on a rival platform are drowned out by the sheer number of people who enjoyed the game.

Give it a week or two, and you'll get a mostly accurate picture of how Destiny has been received by the playerbase.
 
Holy mother of moses... earlier today I came on and it was still OT1 at about 17,000 replies.. now BOOM, OT2 time folks!

Love the title, now... OT3... what goodness can we come up with?



In game related news, having a ball with DGAF crew earlier on, Raishin I hope your ship turns up soon mate, and I hope my emblems get sorted also (first world Bungie problems).

Pretty certain there were some areas in free roam that may be accessible in the full game. Don't know if there will be any extra missions though, I'm fairly certain the Beta was the entirety of Old Russia's missions.

To answer your question though, those aren't boss fights.
 
Got my Ghost edition, installed all the promo codes and played the first mission. That's all I have time for right now. One minor thing I noticed: My Ghost in the game was the standard white one - I thought Ghost edition owners would get a red one. Did I fail to unlock or miss something?

Really anxious to start playing, there is a weird sense of negativity in the air :(

Holy crap, just like I thought OT2 was going to be up when the game launched LOL. Ahhh today is going to be a long morning at school. I only get off at 1:30, and the ride home takes like an hour. Can't wait to join you all.
 
is there a list anywhere of exactly what and were we're supposed to find the DLC content? I think I got the Ghost and Vanguard DLC downloaded correctly but I have no effing idea.

The Vanguard DLC, I assume, downloads but you still need to purchase with in game currency.

The ghost DLC includes what exactly? I re-downloaded that and had a few things pop up in the postmaster.

Wish they did a better job of explaining things from the start it's all a bit confusing.
