I went into the first mission after the tutorial and the tower visit (where I found 3 dead ghosts btw and 3 dead ghosts in the tutorial mission) and instead of going to the objective I have been running around for what is probably an hour just going to completely different places, fighting enemies lvl 3-5 when I am lvl 2 (i chose "hard" for the mission at the start for more bonus XP) and am just having a blast. I found some lvl 3 items, I killed a space wizard and I met multiple randoms, waving at them,dancing and killing enemies together. And I have not even gotten an inch closer to finishing the mission I am on.

So, am I doing it wrong?

There really isn't anything wrong with this. You are pretty much in patrol mode Until you hit the instance gate for the mission you chose. For all the time I spent In the beta I can't remember are the beacon quests active if you do it this way?

I have not seen a beacon. So I guess I am in a "patrol mode without patrol stuff" mode.
I did see some Fallen ships warp in and drop off troops.

All my extras so far haven't appeared in game at all. Entered the codes before I even started my first game. Pretty annoying since I ordered the LE and can't even enjoy the items. I'm already at lvl 9 almost 10.

I have played every Halo game except 4; they are wonderful games, but if people remember them as having exceptional stories...you are going to have some great memories hurt when MCC launchs^^ If Destiny is at least that level I will be fine^^

Talk to the lady behind the counter near (to the left of) the postmaster. That unlocked all my bungie emblems.
 
Wow these threads move fast. Won't be able to play until later because of classes but I'm really looking forward to it.
 
If anyone is wondering where all their code special vendor items are (the Grimoire cards, Emblems and Shaders you unlocked on Bungie.net prior to launch), they need to be activated on Bnet first.... this has stumped many people including myself.

Just go to Profile->Codes->Activate each code you want and it's GG.

Yeah, I'm nearly at level 9 after doing some bounties. Took some time off to figure out the digital guardian edition content, but I'm getting nowhere.
At least we can all play the game. That's what I was really worried about.
 
My PS4 copy has just arrived, hurrah!! Gonna grab a bite to eat and then play all day, right into the early hours of tomorrow morning.

Speaking of pulse...is the sound profile downloadable for the Pulse Elite as well? I assumed it would be, but I (along with several other people) asked on the blog post yesterday, and did not receive an answer.

I played the mission with a gaffer without voice chat and completed it fast, I didn't want to drag him with me so didn't mess around much.

Just ring Amazon up. They will contact the courier for you and might be able to get a redelivery done today. It's not really Amazon's fault you get unscrupulous couriers. I've had lots of issues with Citylink in particular.

The thing is, it just does so much wrong on such a basic level. They're obsessed with telling, rather than showing me stuff. There's no characters to speak of, so I've got zero emotional attachment to the setting. The entire thing is being told through Dinklebot, who, let's face it, isn't giving the world's best performance. There's no real resolution to the storylines brought up in the missions. If it was just shallow, like an MMO quest line, I could deal with it, but it's not. It's actively bad.
 
Damn this companion app is detailed as fuck.

Can go into individual enemies, see your kill totals for that enemy, your K/D ratio against them, precision kills against em, what bonus you have unlocked for em, etc.

Love this. So much fun! At work! ....

I'm from the UK and bouth the US PS3 version...I was rushing through it (had to go to work) but I'm fairly certain during setup there was 'default language' as one option and there was a drop-down to select other languages - but I didn't bother because I was in a rush and I was never going to play it on that accout anyway.

Not sure what to suggest, firstly I'd check the settings, if there's nothing there try starting it again on a new profile to see if the option is there. If the option is there I suggest seeing if you can delete any save files and seeing if it'll reset the game - if not you may need to re-download :(

Are these vendor items unlocked as you progress through the missions anyway or are these items only associated with these codes?

Destiny is nowhere near Halo level for the campaign.
 
not sure if i should buy this now or wait until friday. if i buy it now i'll be skint until payday. but i don't know if i can wait until friday!
