I can't speak about the PS4 version, but the Xbone version has definitely been improved. Besides the obvious 1080p upgrade, we also got the curved UI seen on the PS4 version. The frame rate feels just as smooth as the beta. The all around performance feels really top notch.

The game is definitely a little bit harder. I think the nerfs/buffs were necessary and they got it right. Who knows, knowing Bungie's past, they can never fully agree on weapon balance and tend to patch their games many many times before they feel they get it just right.
 
Right now my best comparison of Destiny is to Mass Effect 1, where it was a great game but fell flat on a lot of its potential, while opening the door for an amazing next few titles in the process. They have the concept down, now the just need to heavily expand on it.

PS4 version is definitely improved. Less jaggies & better image quality all around. Haven't noticed any framerate drops yet.
 
I know I suck at FPS games but damn they made this harder than beta. I actually just died twice on the level 4 mission I'm doing at level 3. I never died in beta or alpha at all. o.o

Very low. It does seem they will introduce DLC as a way to continue the game. Destiny won't last years.

Yeah. Destiny 2 is going to be amazing. Especially since they are going to be free from last gen.

2016 is going to be super exciting.

It will last a decade, but via sequels and expansions. Your Guardian is going to stay with you for the upcoming three sequels and expansions. Until 2022.
 
Anyone here who had a blast with the Beta now dislikes it?

I don't get the "same-same missions" and monotony posts - that should've been clear from the beta?!
 
As somebody who is awful at online shooters (BF4, Halo, CoD etc...), should I even bother with PvP? I don't not being the best, but I also don't enjoy being so bad it's frustrating. At least in BF4 there are other tasks that help the team and make a k/d ratio less relevant.

When in the tower you have 3 vaults to store items in. They are then accessible to your other characters.

The vaults are those things just to the right of the main character in that image.

Could you pleae do mine as I am lost? I'd like you to throw me in one of them EU to be specific UK clans since it's the closest part of the world to where I live (Middle East)

Bungie ID is the same as my user here on GAF. Other then that I'm using the parent as the clan tag so far.
 
Played through all the beta missions except the Strike last night. Now at work. Still enjoying things quite a bit. Even Patrol is just kind of a nice to kill some time and shoot some stuff. Though it is important to go to zones that have enemies closer to your level just to keep you on your toes. Just like in the beta the section outside the Earth Strike is great for this, since it is packed with level 8s and 9s.

It does seem like they nerfed how much Glimmer you get from the random chests that spawn in the environment, at least on Earth. I was hoping to quickly grind up to a sweet new Javelin ship like I did in the beta, because a sweet ship is unreasonably important to me, but it wasn't going to happen if you're getting only 30 glimmer from those chests.

This is very good news. I though the Alpha and Beta were clean enough for me too.

Do you like online multiplayer shooters?

I can see this game offering a lot more hours beyond the co-op experience with that side. It goes so well with missions as you acquire weapons that can be used in the competitive multiplayer. So far from what I've played, it can become one of my go to Deathmatch games.
 
How many people will be playing the Story for the first time at around 8 PM Eastern?

I know LookAtMeGo will be on around that time, but I figure it'd be fun to go through the story or whatever else we want to do with DGAF.
 
Anyone around level 3-5 want to do the last array mission? (before I toss my controller)

Ugh maybe it's lack of sleep, must find more food

You will need to post your info and apply to the regional group you want in via the DestinyGAF clan thread. I only have admin access on the primary and eastern groups. Just go in the Clan thread and follow the instructions in the OP and we'll get you taken care of. Thanks!

Yeah I found 7 chests in the 90 minutes I played and I think only 2 actually had glimmer. The others had equipment or Spinmetal

There's a couple reviews out there, but reviewers just started playing yesterday... So none of them have really put in enough time into the game IMO. It's more of first impressions.

The vanguard Armoury You can get access at lvl 5. Just go to the vanguard master eastside of the tower where the shipwright is. Gives you access to armors and weapons at lvl 5 with good stats. But you have to pay for it.
 
Logged in this morning to create my Hunter. Wanted to stay and play, but had to go to work. :(

Will be on after 9 PM central tonight if anyone wants to run some newbies together.

The game offers a lot when it comes to PvP, it's almost like missing half the game. Don't let skill deter you. Try to practice up a bit. You'll get the hang of it. For what is worth, KD ratio doesn't show up during the match at all, so players wont be hooked to that number. Also, there are other modes besides Deatmatch that focus on objectives.
 
So has the game been living up the ridiculous hype?


I've stayed away after the gunplay in the beta left me wanting, plus the game being cross gen, and being without decent internet for the time being.

In the container about 7 Fallen are waiting. Kill them then go outside and behind the container about 5 feet. You'll see your map go red and all the dudes have respawned. Rinse and repeat until you're bored.

They also still have the god awful vignetting during game play.

That was so goofy in the beta! Like even worse than Far Cry 2.

Perfect, thanks. Not sure I would have ever figured that out on my own, ha.
 
I hope this post doesn't get buried, but i'm looking for some answers.

Obviously everyone on my friends list is playing Destiny, but I am afraid of joining their games incase it messes up my own progress. Do you just jump in / out of friends games then back into your own? Or will my progress just jump to where they're in the game?

Game is pretty boring me just on my own playing..
