GAF I screwed up. I got caught up with life over the summer and never preordered this and now I can't find any extra limited editions except by third party sellers. Is the special edition worth an extra $40, or should I just man up and go regular?

No. The main value is the included expansion pass

Nah I have the same thing, it lets me play fine but has "buy now" below start game. Bought it digitally too.

I'm getting trophies and everything so just seems like a weird store bug.

Thanks for your reply! I was worried that the thread was moving too fast for anyone to see my post.

I think I'll ask Sony support just incase.

Halo has a clearly communicated storyline and a well realized canon. 13 years, dozens of books and comics and animation and television productions don't come from a "bad story."

50 Shades of Grey is getting a movie, that doesn't mean the book is quality!

Reached Level 20 and just found some op gear ( ͡° ͜ʖ ͡°)

Oh joy. I now have pink (purple?) hair and a hideous hair style because I accidentally clicked on "finish" whilst cycling through hair colours.

Can we still change appearances? I don't want to create a new character because it looks like we can't delete either.

Yes you can, you just have to start a new one first.

Switch/create new ones by hovering over "Log Out" and choosing "Character Select".

If I'm following right, there's a gold loot chest in World's Grave final room...WHERE THE FUCK IS IT?!
I've been there multiple times and still can't find it.

For those who adored the beta/alpha, how is it so far?

I only played up to the mission where you get your Sparrow. I'm loving it, even though everything is the same as the beta so far. Auto rifles do have more recoil and hand cannons feel better to use. Up for some Fire team action later today?

You really comparing 13 years to a game that has not been out 24 hours yet?

13 years and that story is still 'eh' to me though

Anyone know how to get the Bungie.net specific emblems? Such as the one for playing 4 of their previous games?

My profile on Bungie shows I've played 4 of their games, but I haven't received the emblem from the postmaster.

Yeah, a beta shouldnt be the first few levels of a game. That is a demo. A beta implies that improvements will be made to the final product.

I agree that the beta wasn't really a beta but more of a demo.

I thought it was pretty clear as Bungie was basically saying anyone could play the beta. As that was the case, I knew it wouldn't be your typical beta. If there were a ton of bugs, it would have turned a lot of people off from the game because they wouldn't understand what their "role" was in playing the beta.

I thought the same thing, but after making a second character, it "unlocks" the option to delete either character. It's still a pain that you can't just change some character options at the Tower with some kind of barbershop vendor.

Just got done w my first meeting of the day, halfway through my mind had a "Eureka!" type moment and I came up with the most brilliant OT2 title ever.

Destiny [OT2}: Eclectic Boogaloo.

So I rushed back to my office and sure enough, it's not that.

I like Destiny a lot, great shooting mechanics and rewards players for exploration. One thing though, what happens after hitting level 20? Is it a rep grind from there on out? I might be wrong, but the missions seem really few. Im already level 11 after a day of playing.

I'm also a tad disappointed in the lack of story and the fact that I can't interact with people besides waiving, dancing and pointing. I also wish the enemies would scale after your level, there's no point in visiting Earth anymore since the enemies are way too low leveled right?

Great game though and i'm going to play it for a very long time ahead.

I only played up to the moon but variety has been ok for me. Does remind me a lot of typical halo complaints of "but nothing is scripted and I keep fighting the same enemies!" I will admit this doesn't have halo like combat that made repetitive encounters that enjoyable, but it's not horrible either. Especially if you bump the difficulty up every level like I do: the variety comes in your tactics of how to handle the encounter and specific enemy waves

Just to confirm, if I put the expansion pass code into one ps3, can I still play the expansion on another ps3 as long as I log in to my psn?

Can you join clans. I keep seeing destiny GAF EU under peoples name.

Yes. If you're a member of a DestinyGAF group on bungie.net you can set them as your clan.

A few groups have yet to implement the feature but if you're in the primary group you can just set that as your clan for the time being.

what the hell, there's NO audio options? Dinklage is yelling in my ear all the time way-way-way louder than my buddies in voice chat...

Why no audio volume slider? Amateur hour...

Point I'm making is that Halo is decent sci-fi, objectively. And the story is told competently in the mainline Bungie games. It's nothing mind blowing, but the world building makes up for it.

Bungie should have learned from the "weakest" aspect of Halo and improved upon it. Having an interesting story is very important because it can mask gameplay flaws for a lot of people and get them to finish the game. Also, it makes the franchise more amenable to other formats of media. Halo didn't get all that I listed because it revolutionized console shooter gameplay, it got it because the world was interesting and unique enough to the demographic it was targeting.

Same thing with Mass Effect.

Not sure what you guys were expecting in terms of mission variety. It's a co-op centric FPS with semi-open world level design.

There's not much you can do with that framework.

This thread is such a shit show. It's basically just a bunch of people asking the same questions about impressions over and over + people complaining about their deliveries or inability to play. Real questions just get glanced over.

Please read the previous few pages before posting so the same thing doesn't get brought up every other post.
