My hype levels are not dependent on the opinions of others.
I played Old Russia and four PvP maps for a collective 29 hours over alpha/beta.

If there is more of that, then I'm happy.
 
I just found this cool crater on the moon. Looked pretty empty, but still interesting, and I was excited to check it out. I hop in and am immediately faced with a "Turn Back!" message. The sense of exploration in this game is smoke and mirrors.

"... you can go there!"
 
I need reviews,opinions and impressions for the crucible.
How many modes are there?
Are they amazing/great/good/decent/mediocre/bad?
How are the maps? Which ones stand out? Can you compare them to the legends that were blood gulch, lockout, zanzibar, battlecreek, hang em high, pit, sandtrap and a few other halo maps?
How balanced is it?
Will it have a large fanbase?
Is it the next big multiplayer game like Cod/halo/Cs/battlefield/tf2?
 
Well, due to an issue with my credit card because I just moved, I'm not sure if my copy has even shipped or where it's going to be delivered.

This is horrible.
 
Did the Fallen near the end of The Warmind have different house colors in beta? I don't remember these ones being blue/yellow as opposed to red/black.
 
The only exception I can think of might be strike missions which might try to pair you up with a third in matchmaking. I'm not sure how to get around that, mostly because I haven't tried.

Man these last two hours of work are excruciating. Had a lot of fun playing in figpc's party earlier this morning. Can't wait to jump back in with some more gaffers later.
 
Middle of launch day which is a work day for many people and still getting kicked out continuously as I keep trying to finish this damn level 4 mission. 3 times I've tried now and finally got to the very end part and just bumped out once again. Frustrating. I'm of the belief later tonight when more people start getting home isn't gonna be any better.

It's automatic for strikes. If you join alone, it'll try to match you with a party.

Pretty sure the descriptions for strikes say "matchmaking enabled" too.
 
Was able to level to 7 trying to squeeze in decent sleep before work. Props to the server teams at MS and Bungie. My experience at midnight was absolutely flawless.
 
I'm really not liking the golden gun as compared to the Nova Bomb & Titan Smash...

You have to ignite it, then you have to make the shots, and even then, sometimes the shots are not one hit kills...

I'm hoping the blade dancer skill is more of "easy kills" move, I know that sounds sad, but I don't know, I guess that is the trade off when you're the coolest looking class with the best jump in the game.
 
Something that bugged me in beta is that I really didn't feel well informed when a piece of loot dropped... or if I snipe an enemy from a far distance, I may not notice at all.

Has this been improved in any way upon release?

Even knowing you had picked up a piece of loot could go unnoticed... I know it pops up to the side of the screen, but it's so "clean", I often miss it.

There is match making for story missions? Because I haven't seen that at all, if there is, someone please point me in the right direction. The Last Array with out a 'super' move is rather annoying and I could use some random help on there when I roll another class later on tonight.
 
Sounds like the digital guardian edition really isn't worth it then (aside from the fact that the first two expansions are already covered)?
 
If i had to describe my time with the game so far it would be: trivial and unmemorable - or in short: the exact opposite of Halo: CE.

My hand's been itching to click the "buy it now" button since last night (mostly due to hype), and every passing second just notches it that one bit closer to making it happen. That is, until posts such as yours come up, and I remind myself that the best course of action is to wait a little longer, maybe even wait until some reviews are out. :-)
 
About to go pick this up. I wasn't going to get it so soon but my friends convinced me. The beta was great; I can't wait to play the full game! :)

Make your fireteam public and you would be match made with randoms.

EDIT: Wait. I'm not sure if that works for story missions. Worked for strikes though.

You still have to watch for the different shapes of stuff that enemies drop. Loot and engrams are always dodecahedrons and they're fairly large compared to ammo boxes.

Sorry, when I said "everything" I meant all the multiplayer only stuff. IE PvP and PvE strikes. The story missions are soloable/co-op through fireteam, not sure if you can get mm in story mode or not. Never tried.
 
the way ammo is distributed, kinda seems like shotgun should be a primary weapon :P

For real.

One thing I noticed is that they really make you want weapon based upgrades. Like, how many times have you been surrounded by dudes in early levels and stuck reloading? It's like "I NEED BIGGER MAGAZINE, FASTER LOADS, ALL, NOW."

In the beta jumping into a strike mission solo would pair you up with a couple of randoms. I have not, however, tried joining a strike mission while having my party closed. Not sure what would happen.

And because of their shape they bounce a little more noticeably than ammo, which just kinda plerps to the ground.
 
Does the gameplay itself vary after the content that was in the beta? Is it the same style of gameplay, just on different maps and locations? Any set piece moments or curveballs (without spoiling anything, of course)?
