How about instead of buying Mojang, spend that 2 billion on exlusives for your console MS?
That would make people actually want to buy an Xbox so it won't happen.

some furniture
I don't see the logic in this really.
For 2 billion I would be thinking more about something along the lines of Take-Two.
I suspect the SECOND they buy this company, Minecraft 2 will be announced with Halo themes, Sunset Overdrive themes, Forza themes.
They're going to multi year this biznatch
I hope they do it. God, this is rich.

It would have been if they bought it 3 years ago.Minecraft is vastly more profitable though.
...or capcom and konami
Then you get IP to leverage! And maybe someone can actually make a megaman game!
Everything non MS gets mothballed. What happens to Minecraft on PS4 if this is true? Does it stop getting supported or pulled?
Um..you can do that with 2 million...Goddamn! Notch could sell this and retire forever! Not work another day in his life! Christ!
notsureif.jpgWho the hell are WSJ?
Will wait for somewhere reputable like Kotaku or Polygon.
Yep. Minecraft 2, exclusive to Xbox One.
Unless MS is willing to breach a contract they won't do that. Previous contracts will be maintained and probably NOT renewed but what's done is done.I'd watch the PlayStation store. If Minecraft disappears, you know the deal has gone through.
The Mincraft name is worth more than everything Capcom and Konami have combined.
Wall Street Journal, which is a pretty reputable thing iircWho the hell are WSJ?

Just think. How many actual exclusives that would move the needle could $2billion buy? Then ask yourself who the fuck is running things at xbox.
Sure you do.This rumor suggests to me Microsoft might deprecate their console business.
You don't buy the most popular videogame of our time to cordon it off on your semi-popular home console.
