Jez Corden: Fallout 5 was greenlit by Microsoft

Easiest greenlight in Microsoft history. Fallout 4 sold gangbusters, TV show was a massive success.

So, it'll be cancelled seven years from now after the team had nothing to show but a sub-par vertical slice.

More greenlit projects = more stuff to cancel.

Funny to think the next Fallout probably won't come to Xbox as by the time it releases Xbox won't exist.
It will exist. I'm convinced that the reason they are trying to better budget by cancelling projects and firing people is because it will exist so they're preparing to minimise the deficit on hardware loses in the coming years. It's just a shame that once again they delivered very little of what they promised at the beginning of the gen and left people hanging with a bad xbox for 6 years.

Should have made that instead of Starfield. Sparse Fallout like gameplay spread out on planetswith absolute shit procedural generation. I mean it's good get are getting a new fallout, but it's gonna take forever to come out and I hope BGS can survive the current turmoil of the xbox brand to actually finish the damn thing.

Agreed that they should have never wasted time with Starfield. Not even mods could save that game as modders aren't motivated to invest time into it. In a idea world we would have gotten Elder Scrolls VI by 2029-2021 on the current gen and Fallout 5 would have either been out or coming out very soon.

The fact it took this long shows how retarded microslop is
Yeah if I was them I would have went full force on the Fallout franchise asap after Fallout 4, starting work on both a Fallout 5 title and another spinoff similar to NV that takes place on the West Coast while the main numbered game keeps the East Coast setting. And have both games be out already. Instead of wasting resources and funds on other games. Can't go wrong with Fallout as it's one of those franchise thats 100% going to be a huge hit just like GTA, Elder Scrolls, and Witcher.

Hope it's either Chicago, Detroit, or New York City with their East Coast setting.

Chicago has a Enclave base and a Midwestern Brotherhood of Steel Chapter.

Detroit and New York City could introduce some completely new major factions. Something like Dementus from Mad Max Furisosa or War Boys or if they want to up the power level they could introduce something like the Slum King from Violence Jack.

Detroit could have cyborgs inspired by Robocop. Cyborgs would be different from Synths. New York would have some Escape from New York/L.A movie vibes where a bunch of different raider gangs resides in.

All three of these cities has a good amount of water if they do decide to add in some cool underwater content.

Little Chicken 2.0

Starfield vs ES or Fallout are completely different. And unlike that guy I would never put all my trust on Starfield in the first place.

Starfield was a brand new IP with new lore that didn't interest many. Losing most of the Radiant A.I system. Making the art style too plain/nasa like instead of being a more interesting style.

And their biggest mistake was doing randomly generated content instead of handcraft content which was what Bethesda does best in with masterpieces like Fallout 3, 4, Morrowind, Oblivion, and Skyrim.

Combining all that and it's easy to see why Starfield failed.

It is going to be 99.9% impossible for a Elder Scrolls VI or Fallout 5 to fail. They won't just survive but thrive as the sales would be extremely massive.

Season 2 will be even bigger

Best Game to TV show ever so can't wait for Season 2. And we're eating good later since Twisted Metal Season 2 is also coming soon which seems to be a lot better than it's first season 2. Cool that both Post Apocolypse wasteland shows ends up being the two best game to tv show of all times.

Obsidian probably. Todd Howard executive producer, creative lead, story, like on Indiana Jones.

But nah, I dont believe Jez on this at all. But, if MS did do this it would be a smart call though. Obsidian is just about ready for more projects other than whatever Sawyer decides to do.
Obsidian got way too much on currently, it's definitely not them.

As everyone is saying.. Greenlit now is a 2030 release at the earliest. You would have assumed they would have started working on this around the time of the show.

Pretty disappointing :|

I assumed it was a go when the show came out in killer shape.
I hope they were already working on them before the show but slowly and just decided to speed things up after the show became a big success and especially now that XBOX is doing bad. With them saying multiple Fallout titles, I believe that means at least 3 titles. If it was only 2 than they could have said 2 titles but multiple should mean 3 or more.

Hoping it's

Fallout 5
Fallout Spinoff game like NV - big budget similar to 5 but taking place in the West Coast like Fallout NV to Fallout 3
Fallout 3 remaster - pretty much confirmed.

Hopefully they were already working on it before and just decided to really speed things up now.

Something as big as great as Fallout should have been the main focus way earlier, shame they were slacking and wasting time on lesser games when Fallout is a easy goldmine. Should have gotten a Fallout game by now and I don't mean remaster but a brand new big budget one. Sucks that they need a reality check to realize their mistake but better late than never. If we're lucky we should be getting 2 big Fallout games and 1 remaster within the next 5 years.

I see an Obsidian Fallout game happening but don't imagine seeing Fallout 5 anytime soon unless Bethesda decides to expand a studio or whatever putting resources into that.

Fallout 76 team with others maybe?

Both Elder Scrolls VI and Fallout 5 could happen within the next few years.

Bethesda with Todd as the leading man focusing on Elder Scrolls VI and multiple Mircosolf teams focusing on Fallout 5. If we're lucky we'll be getting a second big budget Fallout game plus the remaster on the side all within the next 5 years.

XBOX is weak now but these would not only put them back to the golden age but the greatest golden age they'll ever have beyond all others.

Bethesda: "So, we are working on Starfield DLC. Then we'll make Elder Scrolls 6 and release it God knows when. But after that ... we can work on Fallout 5?"

Jez Corden: "Fallout 5 has been greenlit!!!!!"

That must have been a very tough decision for the executives. Greenlighting a new entry in a literal money-printing IP. I can't even imagine the balls on those execs.
