Story really hasn't gripped me at all, pretty much finished with the moon and really nothing has happened, no note worthy NPC's at all. Disappointing so far in this department.

So it seems my limited edition has arrived from Amazon but the package was crushed. I haven't seen it myself but I am worried it's really bad. Did someone else had the same issue with Amazon?
 
Btw is better to keep your encrypted stuff till you get to a high level or is it 'level locked' from when you actually get it?
 
Definitely disappointed in the p v p but so far the rest of the game is pretty good. I wish I hadn't played the beta though as it made the beginning pretty boring.
 
Got myself up to lvl 15. Really not digging the death match pvp but I do like control. I'm really happy with this game. It's probably my goty but I played TLOU this year too and that game is amazing as well.
 
I just saw a guy/girl playing with an EXO and his/her character had a face I don't have when creating a character, is there some sort of preorder bonuses that gives you different faces for each class? Before I manage to ask the player it vanished
 
Something tells me UPS isn't going to drop of my copy until close to 8pm. Their last few deliveries to me have been like that. Sitting at home for 2ish hours waiting isn't ideal, but I'll find something to occupy the wait time.

Looking forward to getting into things for real and playing with some people here.
 
I think it really sucks I can't shut off the damage numbers or any other HUD elements. I hate the HUD damage numbers popping out so much.

I thought about this. You could horde them I guess since they don't seem to be level locked.

I might do this on a different character and see what I get from them. So far, I've been getting gear just fine though.
 
Played this game for 4 hours alone and for about 5 hours with a friend.

ABSOLUTELY in love with it, buying a White PS4 for this was completely worth it.
Jesus what a great game to play with friends.

Yeah I never really got the hang of how that was given out during the beta either. I think it might just be like a lucky dip so everyone gets a fair chance regardless of skill level.

That's a shame. I've been looking for an excuse to get a PS4, but I guess this ain't it. At least not right away.

You wouldn't really need more NPCs if the player character stood out more and clashed a bit with their Ghost.

A Ghost with sass and a Guardian that won't take shit. That'd be fun to see.
 
Enough can't be said about Marty's score in this game. It's every bit as magisterial and dazzling as the Halo soundtracks. Might be his best work since CE. I hope we get an OST release sometime soon.

I've heard that before too... I really didn't find it tough :X I'm definitely hoping the challenge ramps up, but I haven't done any strikes yet or anything.

Actually I'm about to do some story stuff on the moon if anyone wants to make a fireteam. hawkian on PS4

Yeah after playing it all day today, I can safely say that Destiny isn't a game you need to run out and buy a PS4 for. I would recommend you buy it for the missions at a discounted price, but certainly not for the multiplayer.
 
I'm seriously not sure what the heck people expected from this game.

It's like coming into an uncharted OT and complaining that it's nothing like jak & daxter.

What level are you?
 
Game is so good. Though it looks all pixaled. Even with the PS4 menus and everything. Turns out I had to update the firmware on my Bravia tv. Guess we'll see if that improves things.
 
anyone know if the hard mode( or whatever it is called) removes the lame mechanic of ammo being auto resupplied after 30 secs?

I cant check bcause my internet connection got cut off yesterday outside my house, so waiting for comcast still to come fix it. Of course that had to happen right now.

Im at work btw too
 
Seem to be the only one that adores PVP, although I wish there was an "only vehicles" playlist. Not a fan of the more close quarters maps when I could have an interceptor.

I did the moon strike at hard when I was lvl 9. It was hard. Most stuff can 2 shot you.
 
Regardless of the criticisms, I'm loving this game. Just finished the earth strike but playing this game with friends is awesome.
Instead of looking at all the bad stuff look at all the good stuff.
Considering this was supposed to be a last gen game it's really good.

Personally, I think once you've accepted what the PvP is, it's sort of amazing. This is coming from someone who enjoys mmo style PvP, but using that the gear you attain through PvE grinding while still maintaining some level of balance is really satisfying and addictive.
 
so.... what the hell is up with Encrypted Engram drop rates? seriously... im 14 and have gotten MAYBE a total of 10 engrams... am i doing something wrong? whats the best way to farm them (what mission type/level)

Ive been doing just Patrol (open missions) on the Moon and Venus and just go around killing everything... get lots of whites (who even wants whites?) but rarely do i get engrams... and the ones i DID get... about 50% ended up as WHITE RARITY ITEMS!

i cant be the only one who thinks that engram drop rate needs to be nudged up ever so slightly... right?
 
Still worth buying the Cydia AR3 or has it been nerfed too much? It's currently available to buy.

Edit: someone asked if hand cannons are good NOW? They were amazing in the beta. My go to weapon by a long shot.
