If you live for pvp I could see dissappointment. PvP isn't the focus of destiny. It's co-op pve is really fun so far. That's what is bringing me back. I've put in 10 hours since midnight launch.

So, everything's working pretty smoothly right now? I should be good to go when I get in about 25 minutes? Got Wednesday and Thorsday off to level up as ASAP. Can't wait to get my good ships and sparrows again. And armor shading!

Welp, after an hour of updating, I got to walk forward into a building and was then unceremoniously booted off the server. Haven't been able to sign back in for 10 minutes now. Pretty sweet.
 
So the gist is basically that Bungie should hire new writers.

I could totes give them my application, but I haven't had anything published due to an overriding fear of rejection. :(

Also because I'd totes make a great character out of the main protagonist but they probably wouldn't let me do that.

More Ghost-PC interaction, please. If you're not gonna have more NPCs, make those more personal interactions count more.

The game just launched and its on 4 platforms. I'm sure expansions will fill in the void. Besides the game barely came out today, you can't judge it so quickly, even if you played the beta.

Level 15 and I haven't found a rare. Now I'm wearing almost all white because I haven't found any greens since level 8 or so. When I do get something it's a weapon most of the time.
 
Just did the first Mars mission.

The Music during the first Cabal encounter gave me chills.
Plus the open landscape of Mars and the dynamic ai of the Cabal.

I literally had a smile on my face while I falcon knee'd cabal with my titan.
Man....this game.

Which emblems? I posted this on the last page, it may help:

For anyone that can't find all the bonus/preorder stuff, go to the PSN store, look in your download list, and you should see some Destiny Bonus Digital Content stuff. Download it if you haven't, and if you have but still can't get the items, renew your digital licenses in the PS4's settings. And if it's stuff from redeeming codes on Bungie.net, go back to the site and you'll see that you have to click a button to redeem the item now, if you hadn't already. If you do this while still in game, log out and close the game, then restart. This is what I did earlier today and I have all the bonus preorder stuff now.

If you preordered digitally, they should have been downloaded with the game, IIRC.

If you preordered a physical copy, the Vanguard stuff should be in your game box.

Hand Cannnon is beast mode in PvE. One shotting all regular enemies on critical hits. For PvP it's pretty damn good too. Getting way more kills than the beta.

They nerfed the fuck out of the drops. I can't wait till the raids...

Three ways, basically. Some stuff is sent to you via in-game post, such as the Dinklebot skin and emblems.

Some is available from the vanguard quartermaster in the hangar. You have to pay for it, but it's generally nice cheap upgrades - check back every 5 levels (i think? Not sure if there's anything at 15).

And then there's the PS exclusive content, and AFAIK the armor pieces are mostly in the exclusive strike mission.

I know it's early days, but my first impressions of the multiplayer certainly aren't very good. There's nothing about it that jumps out at you and screams Bungie.

To get my digital guardian edition emblems/ship etc i had to restore licenses from ps4 settings then visit the special order booth.
 
I think I've realised why I'm so hot and cold over this game. As a huge fan of Halo I wasn't expecting the same game coming in but being an FPS I was expecting the Bungie flavor. The moment to moment shooting and traversal is reminding me a lot of Reach but where it keeps disappointing me is not in the mechanics but the variety. I am dreadfully missing vehicle combat and large scale encounters such as the ones with the Scarabs.

Also I hate to be that guy but the entirety of the story mode is a mirror of Halo 4. Go to point A, press X, go to point B, press X. The "pacing" through story missions doesn't feel natural.

Still I am interested to see what the post-game content looks like and I'm very close to it now. I've had more fun with other games this year but I'm not shutting the book on Destiny this early. Still a ways to go. For reference sake I'm Level 15.

Do they all kind of suck?

I bought the Sniper and dismantled it a few missions later. Its output did not reflect its stats, for whatever reason.

Also annoying that some of the weapons seem to be tied to a class. No scout rifle available for my Hunter? Thanks, Bungie.
