Ummm... every COD, Titan Fall, Diablo 3... Maybe you should read everyone's impressions and you will see more people having fun than not^^

All the COD's, Titanfall and Diablo 3 did not receive this level of hype, it's been crazy. Going off that and a lot of the impressions I've been reading, mine included, Destiny has been a disappointment for a lot of people.

I'm nearing the end of the moon and I can see the tedium and repetition already and judging by what others are saying I think we're all in for a grind.

I'm on the last moon mission and have no will to complete it for today as I am wiped out with the tedium of playing this game solo, I have no clue of the point to running into other people in your mission, you have no option to get them to join you and more importantly no ability to communicate with them .
How the hell is join public games not a thing in a online only video game?

The story missions are so disappointing so far, especially for who created the game and the budget. The mission mechanics are pure Halo

I'm loving the PVP thankfully, but for the love of gawd take a page out of SWTOR and give an option to quickly get to the next match without all the staging and cinematics

This seems fairly obvious playing the game. Story mode feels like a tutorial.

You'd think that. But people are acting like headshotting dregs is somehow different than killing skags in BL... I'm having a blast - but I'm ded tired lol. Skirmish is fucking awesome.

also -> i wouldn't even worry about having all rares or anything until you get the strike playlist going. I got by with mostly common/uncommon gear leading nearly all of my story missions and strikes. The only time I wished I had better gear was during Crucible where I was basically stuck with a Green Pulse Rifle for most of the day (which isn't as bad as it sounds but now that weapons are more preference than OP-ity)

I really have to be 100% downloaded to play? Wtf. Bought it this morning from smart glass didn't download so start it at home 3 hours ago. 85% looking at a stupid loading screen

Titan Fall... was not hyped..? I must be living in some kind of alternate reality or something^^

Well have to honest guys and gals, this game is a big disappointment for me :(.

17 at the moment and 2 maybe 3 story missions from the end and nearly everyone has been the same, press square and then defend against 3 waves. Strikes are just downright boring and not entertaining, the bosses might as well be called Bullet sponge #1, so far the only enjoyment has come from PvP.

So strange because I liked the beta, I was just hoping there would be more to this game but there really isn't. Feel bad because I know there are people who are enjoying it but yeah..not me.

Yeah, it's VERY generic nothing refreshing or innovative about the story yet, i would like them to do more interesting stuff in future content to make PVE more exciting .. but i do enjoy the story so far

It's not an insult, put the fangs away.

Nah, you misunderstand. I'm not trying to defend the game. I think it's just got a shitty story mode, and calling it a tutorial isn't really accurate (nor an excuse).

Granted, I'm interested to see how things change at max level. I was wondering how they'd handle end game content, seeing how the first raid isn't even going up until next week.

Let me get this straight....

nobody is going to notice the game has
no Sound Settings?, why is this game so loud
for no reason, I mean all aspects music/voice/effects need settings to tweak

Sound design people done goofed up

more to do

more to get

loot substantially more diverse

difficulty spike accordingly

basically.... i wouldn't take much before this point seriously. its like hearing people talk about a diablo game before hell mode or borderlands pre-newgame+

So pretty much every Loot oriented game ever..... SHOCKING

Gamestop didnt open until 11am, so I had to pick up my ghost edition after work. Last one, and it's got a huge crack in the box. They gave me $15 off but i'm still not happy about that.

Installing now on PS4.

I don't think you remember the hype behind titanfall and it feels like you are confirming what you feel through select focus. Plenty of love and constructive criticism. Also there is a noticeable amount of people who having been wringing their hands to see destiny fail.

That's pretty interesting. So Bungie were potentially telling the truth after all.

Titanfall and D3 had crazy hype.

Playing this game coop is where it's at. I played a good bit of the beta/alpha by myself and found it just OK. Playing with people makes the game leagues better IMO. Sort of like borderlands in that regard I suppose.

Good thing someone from GAF joined my party earlier. I've been soloing everything on hard until the 3rd or so mission on the Moon. I would have gotten stomped if they didn't join.

WTF, I'm not getting any item/weapon drops from enemies at all. This is quite different from the beta.

So far though, very similar experience. I might have burned myself on the beta a bit, even. :P

how's it run on 360 or ps3?

A near-locked 30fps.

That first sentence doesn't even make sense, especially for Diablo 3.

All AAA games get backlash, it's how the hype machine works. Some people get disillusioned by the game. Some people have their identity wrapped so tightly up in it that they can't imagine any faults. So you basically get the back and forth you've seen in the last few pages of the thread.

In 6 months, every Lttp: Destiny thread will be just like if you tried to make a Bioshock: Infinite or Skyrim thread today.

I agree which is why them not having public games is infuriating, Borderlands had it as do most games of this style.

The missions are tedious as shit solo, but would be a lot a fun with a group of people

There is a really great foundation here, but the story is just garbage. The game play and production values are Bungie quality, but the repetitive missions are just putting me off. MP is a weird beast, and I just keep getting my ass kicked so swiftly in fights. Its a good game, but what has Bungie been doing since Reach?

So is there a consensus best class, particularly for pvp? In the beta, Hunter seemed to be the most popular especially for pro players.

Can't speak for pvp (only played 4 rounds so far) but for pve I've been in about 6 different fireteams since this morning the most popular class seems hunter. Quite a few titans too.

Also, I don't think people know this - but you can change subclasses anywhere at anytime. I just unlocked blade

dancer during crucible and figured I'd give it a shot (not knowing that I'd be barebones). Got roflstomped.

Changed back to gunbro while alive

There is one mission on the moon, where you use a quest object basically, it's really fun, granted your having to defend again for the 15th time but it mixes it up. Shame that's the only time something like that happens.

Yeah that is the one thing I don't get. There should be some sort of matchmaking but luckily I have a shit ton of gaffers on my friends list at all different levels so joining a game isn't a problem lol
