How is holding down square at 2-3 locations and shooting the same enemies over and over, fun? The missions in this game are fucking awful.

I think you just have to be part of a fireteam. The mic icon shows up even if he has the camera plugged in and muted.

Those pics make you think it's the Rogue Galaxy or Uncharted type of sci-fi game. I think it's a go to shooter. By that I mean.. the game could very much change with DLC. I don't see tigers anywhere lol I like it, but it's still a "go to" shooter. Go to it when you want a shooter, get your campaign story somewhere else. Buildings aren't going to crash in the next CGI, it's a good shooter.
It's like when you fought the Covenant and the Flood in Halo, but on a larger scale.
I'm having fun. It's a very relaxing open game. You don't have to mess with a lot of dialogue. You relax and enjoy the game. If you love FPS, you're going to like Destiny.

Bungie's always been like this. They never have sound sliders for their games. Marty o' Donnell, the guy who did all their music used to insist on it- he felt like he had the perfect sound mix figured out, and God forbid anyone wanna turn off the music! The funny part is that they fired Marty before Destiny came out and they STILL don't have any sound sliders.
It's such a pigheaded move by a developer, and it's been a pet peeve of mine forever. It's why people often complain about poor mixing levels, and hearing voices in cut scenes for Halo games and whatnot. See Bungie knows the right sound mix for ALL AUDIO SETUPS IMAGINABLE. Get the fuck outta here with that shit.

No, its not. Even "typical" mmo loot games have more variations to their fetch and kill quests. This is just bare bones bullshit going on in Destiny. At least the PvP is ok..for now

Well I'm having a blast with this. Just a fun coop experience. I'll give it a 9/10
This game is unplayable for me.. I have tried 5 times but every time I get 50-60% through the first story mission and then get booted off the server. That's not to mention the hours it took to just set up a character without being booted off the server right before it saved. Ughh..
I've got a dedicated line from PS4 to my router and have turned off every other device that uses my net connection.. Still no luck.
Serious question: why do the story missions need an online connection? This is super frustrating. The alpha and beta worked fine outside the crucible levels. The retail game? Not so good..

I'm dead serious. Not even a vehicle, turret defence or maybe a Spaceship dogfight quest to be found. It's absolutely mind boggling considering they keep touting their $500 million budget.
Eh, the story is quite... bad. The shooting is fun for the most part but there's not much in terms of encounter design. It's literally fighting Halo guys 2.0. They even do that swizzle shuffle jump to the side.
You really don't have to think about builds either. The monsters aren't overly difficult that it will matter, just get an assault and go to town. Bosses are all duck behind rocks or pillars and come back out when you're at full HP.
I would give it a solid 6/10 story and content wise for single player. You're honestly not missing anything worth while.
Yep. I switched my Titan Striker to Defender and did an entire story mission gimped and the bar didn't get any xp.

Objectives in Halo had a little more variety than that, but yea that's a poor argument for any game.
It sounds like it doesn't have a whole lot of loot in it.
Bungie's Destiny: the new Campbell's Chicken Noodle confirmed?
If this is the case, then I'm really not going to enjoy the game.
Which sucks, because I was really, really hoping that Destiny would be the game to finally make good on Borderland's early build promises of a genuine loot based ARPG-shooter hybrid, as opposed to the weapons + mod collectathon that it became instead.

Do you use a wireless headset? I had the same problem as you and switching my router's frequency range from 40 Mhz to 20 Mhz solved the issue permanently. With 40 Mhz I guess the frequency ranges used by the different devices would overlap.
Edit: Oh, you're on a wired connection? I don't know, then
that's weird. I only ran half of a moon mission and unlocked my grenade by the end

My friend was on my fireteam, but we could not hear each other! When I was in a party with my 2 other friends, we were able to hear each other no issues... but not as part of just a fireteam
Not early on in the game, but several people have said there's a lot more loot and stuff to do later on in the game, past level 20.
The enemies typically fire slow moving projectiles, and the aim assist is liberal. I'm usually not much for shooters with a controller either, but I find Destiny fairly easy - even PvP (the controls, not the challenge of the content).

You could jump off a cliff and skip a good portion of a level or you could see how many enemies you could kill with a plasma grenade. Halo had that experience, but it's also been a while. You were also taken on a ride. You were fighting in all kinds of weather environments, enemy setups, and you always went further into the enemy territory.
Okay.. Played it for about 3 hours max. Couldn't continue. IMO, the hype wasn't real. I'm extremely disspointed wit bungie. They were boss at making great story driven games.
Hope they can come out with some sort of free dlc with newer missions and more variety. Help me understand the lore behind being a "guardian" make me feel as if the solar system needs me. Got to Level 7 tonight after finishing the Earth missions all on Hard (which were hard!) and then some Patrol and finally a game of PvP.
LOVED PvP. Played the Twilight Gap -- that map is made for Titan's with a shotgun. I can't wait to play PvP with a lot more of my abilities.
Game is amazing, and I can't wait to play more tomorrow (no work!)
