Is there a way to just do random stuff? Wanted to grind a bit before the next mission, and so I went to an old mission... It won't even let me skip the cutscenes before and after. I'm just trying to go somewhere and do random sidequests with people.

Not early on in the game, but several people have said there's a lot more loot and stuff to do later on in the game past level 20.

I don't know where people are getting the "it doesn't sound like there's a lot of loot :(" thing from. Most people haven't even cracked level 18 where they can even seriously browse a vendor. Rares are actually 'rare' at early levels too.

White PS4 is now in the top 50 best selling games items for 2014 after one day... it is only one stop away from every non-Titan Fall kinetic Xbox One sold in 2014 on Amazon.

http://www.amazon.com/gp/bestsellers/2014/videogames/ref=zg_bs_tab_t_bsar#3

Edit: While the stand alone Xbox and Madden Xbox one are not on here yet, clicking on the bestsellers tab on the right hand side shows the Stand alone back in the top 20 for hourly charts. September definitely goes to Sony, but we should a good boost for the One as well (Lord Willing)^^

Loving it because I have friends.

I could see myself being bored if I didn't... And yet, this is still dozens of times better than most shooters out there.

I guess people simply can't deal with hype, for one way or the other.

"Horrible". Come the fuck on :lol

Do Patrol.

How much do you guys think I could sell a used Limited edition PS4 version for? Still haven't completed the game but once I'm done I'm selling it because the game just isn't doing it for me. Its just too damn repetitive. I'll be keeping my PS3 copy to play with friends tho because the game isn't horrible, just mediocre.

Man this was an intense game.

Shores of Time still best map. Hunter Gunslinger still best class. Glad some things don't change :)

5 matches and no First Light. GG Bungie.

Why would you buy a console for one game? Like WTF, my mind cannot even comprehend this.

blade dancers *sigh*

there really needs to be a practice mode or something for it lol. there's just no way to jump into it and dominate. spacing, speed, slide->dashmelee, AoE, invis... so much stuff to track

If you don't have friends... man, yeah. This game probably would be a drag lol

The enemies typically fire slow moving projectiles, and the aim assist is liberal. I'm usually not much for shooters with a controller either, but I find Destiny fairly easy - even PvP (the controls, not the challenge of the content).

Does the blade dancer spec (I think it's at level 15?) require that much aiming anyway? Hahah. But I do think I should get used to it and get better at controller aiming since I like playing with a gamepad so much. (I like just lying down in bed to play Hahah)

So what's the consensus? Is this the second coming or what? I just played the intro and so far I like what I've seen.

It's a good shooter, although the impressions in this thread vary from that to "worst MMO ever" somehow.

Definitely not the second coming. Just more proof that no one ever gets out of the mindless hype train satisfied.

Is it me or do Public Events not happen every 30-35 minutes like in the Alpha and Beta? I was waiting around at 10:30-10:35 for the Devil Walker and it never came. It came like clock-work in the beta at least.

Okay.. Played it for about 3 hours max. Couldn't continue. IMO, the hype wasn't real. I'm extremely disspointed wit bungie. They were boss at making great story driven games.

Hope they can come out with some sort of free dlc with newer missions and more variety. Help me understand the lore behind being a "guardian" make me feel as if the solar system needs me. While playing. I felt useless. Go to point A to point B. Kill waves of enemies. Oh no big boss fight. Kil him and done with the mission.

I can't name one game were the hype is real. It's why a lot of people moan, they buy into the hype of the game before they have even played the game. Instead of thinking I will judge the game when I play it, some people go crazy and brand games amazing etc etc etc just from very little info.

Once again, people expected a decent story. After the beta I expected the story missions to only be good for seeing new locations quickly, going to new planets, unlocking new utilities, and leveling up fairly fast, so I'm pleased. They're more RPG main-quest line than an actual campaign, it dosen't even look like you have to do a lot of the missions to advance from planet to planet but I could be wrong.

I guess a lot of people didn't play the beta and didn't know what they were getting? I expected a polished Borderlands 2-esque game with more stuff to do, and that's what I got.

YES. (in PvP)

I've seen one good blade dancer in PvP so far and when the game was over I wept.

Normal is such a joke, lol. I just died a ton of times on hard during the
sword
quest. Switched to normal and one shot it.

Well if you just brought it you could possibly return it? Depends on the store I guess.

The Silent Cartographer, Assault on the Control Room, Delta Halo, Tsavo Highway, The Ark, The Covenant... Bungie has created some of the most amazing levels in the FPS genre. So, what the fuck happened? The level design is so bad in this game...

The gameplay design leaves a lot to be desired too. All the cool mechanics that were present in the Halo games (plasma to break shields + headshot, shooting a jackal in the hand to stun them + headshot, vehicle boarding, disabling vehicles with the EMP from the PP...) have all been replaced with some incredibly generic mechanics. Basically all the enemies are bullet sponges, and the only interesting thing you can do is going for headshots to do more damage. Dull.

And BTW, why the hell can't we skip the cutscenes? Bungie please...

I got a rare hand cannon with an 11 round clip at level 14 or so. Pretty much been beast mode since then. Story isn't bad but the story telling is a joke. Constantly assuming I know about places and events, or even care. Gameplay is top notch so that makes up for it. Pretty obvious the story only exists to give us a setting and reason to shoot stuff.

Well, as a contrast it has 5/5 stars on PSN and a 4.5/5 on Amazon... places purchases can be verified. Haters gonna hate, lovers gonna love I guess is what I'm saying....

I would be one of those five star people. I love it so far. It feels very mature, from the atmosphere, to music, to the story. The controls are perfect.

Granted I only put in a couple of hours, but that's pretty much my maximum for any game any day of the week. I also never played the alpha or the beta...

Exactly, I mean the writing was on the wall from the beta with what this game was going to be. That is why I am perfectly happy with it. I question a lot of these people who are complaining if they even played the beta or even the alpha.

Hard is damn intense. Got stomped so hard on my first try on that mission. I was level 8 and my friend 11.

Brought in another level 11 friend and still had trouble beating those assholes.

Had the game a couple hours now, UPS didn't deliver as late as I had feared.

I'm super stoked being back in this game. My Warlock is made I'm doing missions and exploring. I missed this game, I missed old Russia. I've seen some valid criticism of the game here but I love it. I couldn't quantify what it is that speaks to me, but Destiny is awesome.
