Will finally be able to get some time with the game this evening, bought it yesterday but wasn't able to play it.
I'm kinda worried reading all this negative comments, but then again i very much enjoyed the beta, so i'll probably enjoy this too

I either only got ammo so far or I never noticed getting weapons and armor from mobs. The whole process of the loot dropping and collecting it feels unsatisfying.
Played an hour or two on my xbone last night, looks great, nice and finely tuned gameplay.
The RPG elements are a little oversimplified and the gameplay is pretty straightforward. Too early to say, but I'm having a blast with it.

Received my copy at around 8PM last night. Was real tired after work, but the game still gripped me enough... to stay up until 1AM.
There were server issues. When the connection was dropped, you could remain in the game world, but nothing worked right. Nothing was picked up and enemies kind of warped around.
Noticeable differences from the beta:

- The game looks better. I think the textures are sharper than they were in the beta. The water effect is also more pronounced.
- Drop rates are decreased.
- Merchant loyalty accrual is decreased ):

Loved the beta and still love the game but I am disappointed that seemingly nothing has changed from the beta.
I was secretly hoping for some more story exposition and perhaps more varied story objectives but sadly none of that is different either .
Reading these comments about being the next Star Wars e.t.c makes me laugh , that's what you get for overhyping your product as the next big thing.

Just beat the moon boss. Fucking hell that was INTENSE.
Got a badass rare handcannon and rare gloves for it. Also got a rare coat for my Warlock by getting the last chest. It's nice to officially be out of the uncommon gear point of the game.

Most find it significantly better with friends. Do you like the feel of Bungie games, but with more of an emphasis on loot and leveling? That may answer the question for you^^

I kind of dislike how some of the big bosses are wars of attrition. It's a 20 minute fight you know you're going to win around minute 1. It just takes you 19 more minutes to do it. The music even stopped playing when I was doing the boss on the moon, that's how long it took.

Just got lucky, I guess. We were all 15/16. What level did you try it at?Don't buy this game for single player. Borderlands was better for just single player imo than destiny. Buy it for coop shenanigangs
Yeah - yesterday a community thingy event happened where some big ass boss just dropped out of nowhere and like 5-6 people tried to kill it. Were it not for the timer, we would eventually have beat him.
btw: is there ANY penalty for dying?

There is no penalty for dying besides losing your progress. How much progress depends on wether or not you're in a restricted respawning zone. If you're playing with a group and you go down and get revived there is no penalty really.
I think it's time based, it looks like it doesn't unlock for 6 days(like the raid).

had a fun time just zooming around old russia even though its all the same levels i've played in the beta/alpha so far. i understand see why people might be disappointed if they hadn't checked out the beta/alpha though. co-op is where its at. i could see this being boring if you were playing alone because there isn't much story to drive you along like a normal campaign.
if i saw the trailers and stuff from the past few years and never sampled the game i would have been expecting something a little more...i dunno epic? not sure if that's the right word but this is definitely a lot smaller in scale.

Lol dat feel. I love the game, but the frame rate is killing me. I pretty much only play 60 fps games, and it's rough going back.

I'm only at level 8 at the minute but how would you say is the best way to get rare weapons and armor drops? Did you happen to "farm" anywhere in particular or just play through as normal?

Some materials are required to upgrade your weapons.
It's where the Awoken queen and her asshole brother live..I think you go there twice, probably left out any further interaction so they can make people buy expansions.
It seemed like it. I think some of the legendary weapons use some for upgrades, but that might be other materials like the stuff you get for breaking better gear down.

That was rough. We needed Rocket launchers... we did not once make it drop down so we can make higher dmg. FOCUS ON THE LEGS. Also my Headset was not working somehow...

Yep going from playing the last of us for an entire month and then starting this took some getting used to. Turning the camera feels like a blurry mess. Never used to.care about 60fps as was few and far between last gen but now. I'd rather have worse graphics and give me thay smoothness. If anything 60fps adds more to.the look then horrible shit like chromatic aberration.
so are there absolutely any plans about adding in-game clan functions and voice chat at the very least when you're mid mission and randoms join the game in the works at all?
It still boggles my mind the complete inability to find clan members in game.
I have this issue, I'm originally from the USA but now live in Europe, so majority of my friends are on completely different timezones so I find myself gaming solo a ton. Is there enough for a solo experience? For me, yes, but I've had so much more fun when I've been playing with others than when I am playing solo.
