If Jupiter has a map I will get a flight to the US, find Bungie headquarters and give them a science lesson. And I'll trade in the game.

All the planet environments in the game are far, far from what they really are. We just accept them because the game tells us they're terrafarmed (ignoring gravity, magnetism etc). Why would Jupiter be any different?

Customization for the character is on another level? In a game that has only one model for each class? They both have shaders for armor, I'm puzzled as to what's so next level about diablo's character customization.

It should be pointed out though that there is transmog in D3, so you can make your armor look like w/e. Would be cool IMO if Destiny had something similar (or does it? I'm not very far in the game).

Level 15 and I still haven't seen a public event. Weird.

Do i need to log into bungie.net for my clan tag to kick in? It's still blank, had it in the beta though.

They haven't ruled out micro transactions so...

Generic is not the word you are looking for. You mean mediocre, or nothing special, but there as Destiny can be a combination of many things including the only shooter to feel anything like Halo as well as giving you loot to pick with, it's not generic.

I'm not really sure what you're trying to say with the second half of your post, but I meant generic. I have played things like Destiny before. I have seen things like Destiny before. The sum of it's parts may be "unique" within the FPS, but individual components are retreads. Even then, Borderlands got very close minus the MMO elements (and I hesitate to even call them that)

Shaders allow you to color armor.

Funny thing about the shaders. In Alpha / Beta, low lv. gear had the shader attribute which would of allowed you to apply a shader if you had one. But in the full game, I have yet to run into an uncommon piece with the ability to use a shader.

Kind of dumb. Would love to color my armor as I level up.

I definitely won't be picking up the expansions on launch day after this experience, I'll wait and see how much content is really in them. I'm not paying £15 or so for about 5 missions.

Anyone know how to get into Bunker RAS-2/Seraphim Vault on retail?

We killed the Knights and mini-boss but it looks like we're missing a quest objective to sick the ghost on the control panel.

I'm currently level 21. The grind is unbelievable. You're capped at 100 marks per week, and some weapons require 160 marks, not to mention armour. Heroics are giving me 2 marks a pop, and take forever. Bosses are just 30 minute bullet sponges.

The grind is very much real. Not only do you have to farm marks, but you need reputation on top of that.

Is feel like a lot of peoples complaints would be fixed with playing on hard.

normal hides so much of the gameplay and combat mechanics because you can basically stand in one place and dump on enemies until you need to take cover.

Halo was kind of like that on normal too, but hard and legendary brought this beautiful gameplay and challenge to the surface.

Currently enjoying what some clever person on the bungie forums described as a "Noah's Ark of errors". Bees, lions, flies, you name it. Can't get more than about 10 minutes of play before getting booted back to orbit at the moment, so I'm mostly doing green beacon missions for now.

Hope they get this stuff sorted soon. Don't remember a single networking error during the beta.

I'm just glad that my friends IRL, and my DGAF friends are enjoying. The randoms popping in the thread now don't matter to me. ;)

Agreed, I wouldn't recommend the game to anyone planning on going exclusively solo. Not that they couldn't have fun with it, but this is best experienced with friends. Though I normally use other channels to communicate with friends, I agree they should work on implementing either text/voice commands in-game, but like you said there is time.

By generic, Wolfenstein is generic but still probably the best shooter I have played in recent years.

I don't really like Destiny all that much, but since we are talking within the FPS genre, it has enough unique things that is isn't "characteristic of or relating to a class or group of things; not specific." since it has PvP full of special moves and OHKOs and shit

I would love to see everyone's playtime tally so far lol.

I would not be shocked to see someone having played 16+ hours yesterday

Because its a ball of gas?

I think what he meant was there better not be solid ground to stand on on Jupiter. IIRC the only concept art shown was for moons around it though, so worry not person who said that.

Speaking of anti-science magic, the sun's size in Mercury's skybox is absolutely ridiculous. Maybe theres actually an excuse for it idk about, like Mercury has been in a rapidly decaying orbit, cause it appears to be pretty close to being gobbled up by it.

They could put it on Gemini or another of jupiters moons

I've noticed drops are happening a ton more at higher levels. Which is always a good thing. Also strikes at impossible might make me pull my hair out.

What do you dislike about the encounters? I mean, the AI seems to be pretty smart to me, they hide behind cover, move away from grenades, try and flank us…
I’m still on Earth so maybe it becomes boring to me as well when I’m 10 levels up, but so far I really like the encounters and my buddy does too.

The AI seem pretty daft to me. That wouldn't be so bad if every fight didn't boil down to defend this point for 5 minutes.

we're really just arguing over semantics at this point (seeing as you pulled out a dictionary definition of generic).

Adding "PvP full of special moves" does not make it less generic in my care. Let's agree to disagree.

Hmmmm... Singer player longer than any of their Halo games, Co cop strikes, PvP, Raids... = shell of a game? I know you be trolling,
but try harder good sir^^

I've seen call someone else a troll in here already today, cut that shit out "sir". If you can't discuss the problems with the game without calling people trolls then take a step back.

And yeh 6 strikes and 1 raid is pretty short on content by the sounds of it, and people have got to max level and finished the story in 15 hours. Not really what I was expecting from a possible GOTY and I ain't paying to to fill out the game with more content down the line.

I'm having a great time with it. Maybe it's my age, but, the gameplay is what I want out of it. I didn't want another frantic FPS. It's minimalist for sure, but, makes it feel more scenic and epic. For mashing Mass Effect with Halo, I'm digging it.

Venus strike has the best boss by far. Not too damage spongey etc. It's a shame Strikes have that format though. I wish there was more dynamics for bosses, like shoot away a cable to expose their heart or something Roboknic

Agreed. I meant you to change the word you would use but I understand what you are trying to say anyway.

He seems convinced that the people calling Destiny boring are comparing it to CoD rather than Halo. But, for me, Destiny does away with nearly everything that makes Halo combat exciting.

Had a firefight on the moon earlier that made Halo look like junk. The AI is scary good at times. They rush, they flank, they circle you and come back when you're hurting.

It has the pure refined DNA of Halo in the minute to minute gameplay.

The AI is fine and the gameplay is great but what really bores me is that the encounters keep boiling down to the same few scenarios all the time.

Remember how Assault on the Control Room changed things up throughout the level? That was fantastic. So many variations in gameplay and the encounters felt different throughout.

The Silent Cartographer? I felt like I was a part of something great as we raided that island. Again, so many different variations in encounters throughout the level.

With Destiny, the gameplay is there but the encounter quality is dull and repetitive.

Yeah, I don't appreciate having my opinion dismissed as some CoD fanboy drivel. Destiny doesn't stack up with the best from Bungie. I'm still liking it but I'm not sure I need to go back to it.

Really enjoying the game. I bought it on Xbox 1 and PS4 (Level 4 and 7). Only two things that I think disappoint me. I wish there was more to the ships than just a loading screen and I thought we were going to other planets/moons in the solar system. Playing as a Hunter and Titan.

Why do people disliking this game instantly make them trolls?

I mean, if this were a game priced by subscription we could simply choose to not pay anymore, but paying a full price for a game then finding out it isn't what it was hyped up to be is valid.

I have seen many times the "what did you guys expect" comment. Don't give me that shit, Destiny was supposed to CHANGE THINGs.

For more I can be rather unpleased, but still enjoy this game. I mean, it feels like Halo, it ain't great but it can't suck the second it feels like Halo.

Got kicked last night about 5 times. 4 times during play on earth and 1 time during the tower. After the tower kick, I decided to go to bed. Will try later this week. Hopefully they get things patched up.

The OTs were rollercoaster rides.

"can't wait" "I envy you guys" "package hasn't arrived"
to

"This game is always the same thing"
"Is there anything else to do than to shoot robots ?"
" I traded it in "
"You're a troll if you don't like this game"

I would give this game a 7/10. Its fun with my friends but many complaints I'm reading are true. Story sucks and mission structure is boring. That being said I played with my friends till 3am. So even though I feel the game is slightly above generic the fun factor with friends is really high.

Wohoo, lvl21, no exotics so far, not even a legendary :-/

Kind of cool to me. Atleast they are making rare things actually rare. Instead of anyone at lv. 20 walking around with legendary weapons.

I just hope they haven't locked Legendary items behind the Raids. I have 0% hope of being able to do Raids if they indeed take 10+ hours of whatever to complete. I might have 2 hours at a time to sit down and play a game at night tops. Anything beyond that. I'm screwed.

So hopefully, legendary items are just VERY rare but can drop anywhere, or during Strikes too.

In my line of work sir is a sign of respect. Just because I think you are harping on hollow arguments (the game is bigger than any of their Halo games. Calling it a shell is disingenuous) does not mean I do not respect you. Trying to talk about nickel and diming us on content through DLC, which they are doing better than most of their contemporaries is also not constructive in any way (unless your argument is that games shouldn't have DLC at all, which I would again respectfully disagree). You say sounds short which means you are also not even speaking out of understanding of the content, but lack of experience. Sir^^
