I just beat the campaign at level 18. I thought it was pretty good. It was better than the last 2 Halo games, Halo 4 and Anniversary. I don't think it comes close to Halo 2 - Reach, though. The way the campaign plays out PSO style is weird and I don't get why they didn't break that up in a way that didn't have you going through the same places again. The areas are definitely big enough for that. IIRC they had set it up a bit differently in the Alpha and it played out more like a regular Halo mission. I guess it was too long or something. Maybe they should have just put Patrol and story in the same mode, so you could kind of switch between the 2 depending on whatever is close by. I would really like to see this mode worked on in the furture. Either something more open world or something more like Halo. Destiny is also completely lacking any of the big vehicle battles of Halo. There's no Warthog or Banshee or tanks. There's 2 Vehicles and they're both pretty much Ghosts. Pretty lame. I feel like Bungie did not even come close to topping their best work on the Halo campaigns, but the game is fun and I'll keep playing for the loot. I still haven't done any Strikes besides Devil's Lair. There's so much left to do.
While the option would've been interesting, I'm sure there wouldn't be anywhere near as much talking as we'd think. Party chat pretty much destroyed most social voice in games.

destiny doesn't look like it's using hitscan on any of the weapons. jump and shoot and you'll see the bullet travelling.
halo almost always used projectile on the covenant weapons, and halo 2, 4 and reach used hitscan for some human weapons

lol some of you guys are pretty funny.
My friends and I couldn't find a trick to it, per se. The best thing we came up with is one person is on add-duty, another is actively trying to get the bosses attention while the last is focusing on damaging the boss as much as possible. It's a rough fight and it's pretty long, but boy is it satisfying when you get it right.
It also seems like addtional enemies swarm you if you try to hang out outside of the combat area, so don't try to cheese it by hiding outside the door.

You have to go pick it up from the delivery person at the Tower.

Finally able to sit down with Destiny for the next couple of hours before I head into work. Blade Dancing, here I come!
D3 has a much better loot system and there Halo has better pvp.
Previous page said that it was more a gear check. More so than a level check. Makes sense because it was coughing out 4 wizards and 4 knights at a time on the map there was literally no where to hide if you didn't create pauses in the waves through killing them. The entry point had a shrieker that would infinitely spawn to keep you from hiding and healing and regrouping.

And at least Halo had a good story to go with the campaign. Didn't really pay attention to the story of Diablo.

Step 1: Enter in in all preorder codes that came in the game's case into PSN "redeem code."
Step 2: Go to the Post Master NPC at the Tower and claim your unlocks and any other relevant DLC
Step 3: Turn left and walk clockwise around this small vendor structure to talk to the Special Orders NPC guy, where you can then purchase the ship (it's super cheap).
Are you trying to solo it?

Well it's level 22, and when I was level 10, some level 12s could one shot me in explore, so if the same trend continues, it probably wouldn't be a fun experience.
Only "tactic" that seemed to work for us was to kill all the adds on the ground and pull the ones on the ledge into a corner by keeping 1 Guardian underneath the ledge (The AI will close in above you, but can't shoot you).
DO the same on both side of the arena (facing eachother) and pick away at the boss from there.
If you run out of Ammo...you are will have to kill and reset the spawns this way.
Just burned through doing bounties bounties bounties and the story. No burn out man, as a former mmo player... All about dat meta game. The game is just starting for me lol, all of this before was just the tutorial.

Oh, question for the Hunters out there. I got the upgrade for the Arc Blade super, but now I can't do a regular attack while on the ground? Only in midair? Pressing X (I use the Jumper control scheme) while on the ground no longer does anything.
I don't really understand why people buy games that have their major features touted as multiplayer/loot-related things but then quit the game after they complete the story stuff. No offense to you, but, uh. I think the majority of people that are actually into the game aren't particularly going to stop when they beat the 10-15 hour campaign stuff.

Plus D3 has MUCH more in terms of replability with how that loot system works and the areas to fight in/explore. Agreed with Halo as well. Far superior in my opinion.
That said Destiny is by no means a bad game!
So is there any hope of Bungie adding in proximity voice, or at least team chat during crucible matches? This has been in Halo, doesn't make any damn sense to me why they would not have it in this game. That's honestly my only gripe.
Beyond that, having a lot of fun as Hunter. Playing solo does kinda suck, but I really enjoy the exploration. Those missions are rather grind-y, but it's enjoyable enough to keep me sticking around for a long time. haven't gotten terribly far with the story but I did get the cinematic where the guy basically says he ain't gonna tell me shit about what happened. Bleh.

I find this super hilarious on new players in PvP, they just stand there wondering why you are running up to them with a new animation. Yeah, I can't think of any good reason an enemy player gaining speed and running up to you with out shooting would be good.
Also, to anyone who can answer, how does the spawning of random events work in this game? Is it based on the amount of players loaded on to the map? Completely random?

Oh boy.
My group runs into a ton of chests but they mostly drop crafting stuff. The game ain't like borderlands/diablo where it's showering you with loot. The primary way to get loot, I'd say, is by finishing missions.
