Oh snap. I was kind of down about the (non) state of the Legion in New 52. I'm gonna have to catch up on Justice League United.

Hawkeye was enjoyable as always. Wu's art with Hollingsworth's colors is truly fantastic. And I love Kate but I'm just ready for her to go back to Clint for the big climax already. This is gonna be such a fun read once it's all collected.

I've always been a big fan of Timm. The shows we worked are a part of my childhood.
I really want that Harley & Ivy piece now. I love Darwyn Cookes rendition of Catwoman...even little bit more than Adam Hughes. I still like Hughes shinier Catwoman though lol.
Also, it's comic book day. Time to give Image more money.....

oh god. oh god. my roomate picked up ASM #7 and....i think it's awful. like, a markedly lower quality level than normal.
Silk is a total mary sue. She's Peter's flirty attractive girlfriend who has more powers (insulated organic webbing? What the fuck?), improved powers (they were bitten by the same fucking spider, how is her spider sense super long range?), is absolutely flawless in every scene to the point that it stands out, and, the worst crime, it makes Peter the damsel in distress the whole book. It just feels like every conflict is "Peter fucked up and is in trouble, HERE IS SILK TO SAVE THE DAY"
Black Cat's character assassination is totally bullshit. She's a full on supervillain now who is acting evil and hating peter for literally no reason other than she's suddenly crazy. Now that it's here to stay, I just hope whoever's after Slott fixes it.
Sajani becoming a mustache twirling evil villain business man is probably the single dumbest writing move I've seen from Slott in a long time. "The profits aren't high enough"? What the fuck? She's a fucking scientist. Has she ever shown anything even indicating this?

Ehhh I can't judge him entirely based on one filler issue of an otherwise great book. It wasn't even awful, just disappointing to have something like that break up the pace.

The first filler issue was alright. It was weaker than the Spencer stuff but it at least understood the characters and the tone of the series. The second one was some weird and dramatic issue about some random characters being afraid of Spider-Man. It was just completely out of tone with the series and just served zero purpose. I'm okay with an issue to break up the pace and do something different, but it just rubbed me the wrong way.
I honestly do believe that the series was going to end at 15 but Marvel pushed out these two filler issues to grab some extra money while Spencer and Lieber worked on the regular issues.
Pai Pai: I know I'm being hyperbolic by saying "avoid" before seeing anything from the comic! I am very, very skeptical about the book he'll be working on though, and I think that's pretty fair since I've only read one thing from him that I didn't like at all.
I read through it a few years ago, but really don't remember a whole lot of it. Figured now was as good a time as any to do a reread.

I don't know who writes on that show. I do know that Elliott has a deep love of Marvel. Needless to say I am pleased with this choice.
