The Order 1886 Gamescom Gameplay Trailer

Of course it was, but why show it at gamescom and let thousands of people play it?

Because they have nothing else ready? Frankly, it's a lose-lose situation for RAD right now.

a. they chose the wrong place in the game to make a 'demo slice' based on the response.
b. this was what was showed to GameInformer last year, to other media on February, and even back at Feb, it was still kind of rough, which means they have no time to make up something else.
c. the other 'playable demo' they had was the unveiling of the lycans, which from what we saw, was a more quiet, explorable sequence without any real gunplay moment. ( even that was a backstage demo, which probably means not in the most perfect state )

Ultimately, it's a game that's releasing in 6 months, and they cannot 'not have' the game playable, at least to the enthusiast audience to go to games events, but RAD doesn't have something more compelling outside of trailers, unfortunately.

I'll say that come December/January or so, (once the game's close to finished), they really, really need to amp up everything they can possibly do for The Order (extended 30 minutes to hour long gameplay previews ), a demo (not of that sequence), or whatever, because the lack of new, meaty content that's not trailers right now is definitely impacting the mindshare of this game. Every other game like Driveclub, LBP, Mordor, etc are getting lenghty gameplay showcases and it's... pretty obvious that The Order is clearly not ready for that right now.

Unfortunately the image isn't coming through for me. Can you repost from another source?

Just wondering, not trying to be negative, but has a game ever got such mixed previews prior to release, to end up being good or great?

I am sure there has been especially of a game that we have seen so little from.I really wouldnt worry until reviews start to hit or they do a full hands on .

Destiny received mixed previews, then gamers got to sit down with it for an extended period of time in the Alpha and loved it. In the end previews dont' mean much. Edge wrote this preview of Haze two months before they reviewed it and gave it a 5.

*Exclusive maps - navigate London, finding every important location and collectible.

So is it safe to assume there will be some open/free-roaming elements to London?
Or was this already known information?
I was under the belief this was going to be a fairly linear/cinematic experience, so I hope this is the case. I want to explore old-timey London away from all of the shoot-banging! ;)

Think uncharted collectibles and I'd say you are on the money.

I suspect in the same way they manage to hide treasures in Uncharted, it'll be exploring of that nature.
