PlayStation Network Thread (Vita/PS3/PS4) | September 2014

The whole event did make me realize how terrible the current screen protector is that's on it. Time to slap a new one on!

My screen protector is so messed up that 1 week after I bought the console my friend thought that I had got it on launch date (and the launch was 1 year and a half before the date we met).

It looks bad, my PSP looks newer than my Vita and I bought it many years ago.

It may be the quality of the screen protector, how you applied it, how you preserve your Vita or all of them. That's why I use official, original HORI screen protectors, buy three at a time so that if I mess up the first, I'll just remove it and try again until I succeed and keep my Vita on a case everytime I'm not playing it.

A couple of days ago, my cat knocked over a glass of water onto the glory that is Vita. Several several hours of intensive care in a rice bag has proven effective, the Vita lives!

Granted, I never even knew if water got inside of the unit, but I didn't want to take any chances. One incredibly loud sigh of relief escaped my lips when I say that beautiful PS logo.

Vita means life after all. Glad that everything was fine!

God Eater Burst is now on sale..... €5....

Man, sorry about your Vita :(. Glad it all worked out in the end though and it is working again :D! Lots of great stuff that came out over the past month or so along with new releases this fall (Minecraft and Freedom Wars for example).

I never had a screen protector on my Vita yet :l; only has a few scratches on the front screen and a good number of them on the rear touch pad (though it still works like a charm; Tearaway and Ratchet Collection play great with it :D). It is smart you had one though; if you didn't who knows if your Vita would turn on or not.

Glad things worked out for you :).

wait sony rewards gives $10 codes? I thought you could only use those points to buy from their limited selection of games or something. I still have zero idea how that whole thing works

Is the retail price of Destiny not the exact same as every other retail release in the UK? I know your retail price situation is completely weird but I don't see why Destiny would be a different price
It's the same as every PS4 and XB1 retail release. Which is a good deal more than I'm used to paying coming off the PS3 generation. Basically the new generation has been an excuse for retailers to jack up their prices and I hate it. It's not exclusive to Destiny. It's a new generation thing. That's why I said fuck this new generation and not fuck Destiny. I pray it's something that sorts itself out soon and game prices go back to the way they were.

Dangan Ronpa Another Episode new trailer (copy & paste Famitsu link)
Looking very good, should probably stop watching trailers at this point (;´Д`)

I found a site that takes pre-orders for the Danganronpa limited edition Vita and ships worldwide.

http://www.nin-nin-game.com/en/japa...n-ronpa-1-2-limited-edition-white-new-en.html

Anyone have any feedback on this site? Legit or not?
They're legit but just like many of the smaller Japan-based import shops they're slow to ship and have a severe cancellation policy so make sure you really want it before buying.

i remember this . congrats man . so rice treatment it's actually effective. Now you can go back and play some games
Thanks! It seemed to do the trick ok, but I can't comment on the amount of (if any) water that may have been inside. BUT~ I know of friends who soaked their cell phones, and this trick worked well for them.
It's nice to change the screen protector/filter once every year. I have mine since February 2012, but I can't change because I've put a chrome skin on top of my Vita.
Yea I agree. I got the Hori protector at launch, and bought a few extra just in case. The Vita I have now I got from Craigslist (White AssCreed) and they already had a protector on it, but it was very shoddily applied. I really studied it during it's "coma", and compared to my launch Vita, it's night and day. I know I've had an extra protector sitting in my Vita box for a wgile now, time to break that sucker out!

Hahaaa dang man, sounds like you need to get a case! Or just trim back them Wolverine claws a little :P SNNKKT!

Thanks :D Yea if it weren't for my cat like reflexes (thanks videogames) and that screen protector, who knowswhat would have happened. My re-application will take care of my "reserve" protector, and now I am wanting to put a cover on the rear panel as well. Going to go cheap cell phone cover for now, but will be looking into nicer alternatives as a backup, or future replacement. I bet that if my Vita fried...Minecraft *might* have come out then, to taunt me....but gladly no frying occured...but we still have the endless wait for MC....

Im excited about tgs. I mean the preconference( Sony's) was better than I expected for Vita. We got two exclusives ( way of samurai and luminous arc) and bunch of ps4-vita titles. But this is before tgs. I'm hoping some announcements for vita there now.

When is TGS again? I don't want to get excited but I can't help myself. Pre-conference was good.

And I also want God Eater 2 here. Please Bamco?

i should shop watching DR2's JP and NA trailers back and forth. I'm fairly certain of who's the first victim now :/

My LE's in Mexico, at least. Now to wait another week :V

Why are people still hoping now? It will come, the PS4 version isnt meant for japanese users. Its for the west, just hope that they will bring.... the Vita version .

What pisses me off about this is that I now have to pay 70 euros to pick up a physical game locally where the US version is 60 dollars. That's a huge, huge price difference. 60 euros vs 60 dollars was bad enough but going to 70 euros is just a slap in my face and spitting on my onion rings.

I fully expect Namco to only localize the PS4 version of God Eater 2 Burst.

They've done that kind of thing multiple times now (Pirate Warriors 2, DW Gundam, etc.)

exactly, maybe theyll throw a bone for vita users by making digital only or not at all.

remember its only a real game if it is on ps4, not vita.

Go read Dangan Ronpa Zero while you wait. It answers questions from DR1 and things in SDR2 will make more sense because of it. NISA or whoever really should've localized them before putting out SDR2.

I believe someone did a fan translation somewhere, let me look for it

Man why is PS4 to Vita remote play via direct connection such absolute garbage? I mean, I didn't expect miracles, but when I am sitting five feet away from my PS4 on the couch, I expect remote play to not completely lose connection and turn off every 10 minutes or so. It is fully unplayable, in that there are lag spikes and full second delays, then it just turns off. And this is all direct connection, not going through a router. I know people were saying through a router is better, but I do not understand how direct connecting can be this bad.

I currently use a 4G WiMax device to connect to the internet because my school's internet blocks PSN, so I can't really change or configure my router at all, I am stuck with the one I have that can accept the 4G internet signal. Is there anything I can do or setting I could change to make direct connection work a little better? Just want to play Diablo 3 while my girlfriend watches TV, and my room doesn't have especially bad interference or anything.

PS4 wifi is garbage. Its old tech, blame sony.

Stop it. If I can wait, so can you.

Go play DR again while waiting.

Sweet! I'll have to catch up with that, then. No more DR2 trailers for me! :P

Yeah, what you can do is connect directly to the PS4 instead of using the long way of connecting with an unconfigurable router (if it was direct, the router wouldn't matter).

I use remote play daily and it works like butter for me.

Edit; Also;

How do I get the best experience from Remote Play (or how do I improve my connection)?

A few good tips to get the best connection include unchecking “Use WI-FI in Power Save Mode” on the PSVita (enables a faster connection/more throughput) and changing the channel that your PS4 or router broadcasts on (to reduce interference). These methods will improve your experience regarding connection strength, lag, throughput and ping – giving you the best experience possible for your connection type.

I'd hoped that Symphony of the Night would get a discount at some point - I've somehow never yet played it so I'm glad to see it included in the EU retro sale!

And while clearly that's a fair way off needing all of it, now's as good an opportunity as ever to get a £35 voucher bought and on my account - that way, I'll be nicely prepared for when CounterSpy gets included in a sale...

Any idea why its been nearly 4 hours and no verify email when changing my email address on my PSN account?
Its not in my spam or junk folder and I cant access my account properly on the SEN site until its verified.

I have both "enable remote play" and "connect directly with PS Vita system" checked on my PS4, do I need to do anything else to enable direct connection? I thought that I already was directly connecting and it was still working like garbage. Or do I need to do something else that I am not doing to make it work better?

Remote play worked fine for me at home, annoying that it isn't working at all now.

I'm going to go ahead and say everyone's too busy playing that horrible game that released yesterday to unclog the channels and due to a glitch/error stuff is backing up.

I was thinking that.
It took nearly 2 hours for the email to confirm my PS Plus purchases to come through so I expect it will, just annoying.

I should've thought about this before changing it. :/

Haha, less about them playing it but more about customer service being swamped with destiny complaints due to bad codes. Just took me forever to get a customer service chat to send in my DS4 with bad thumbsticks for a replacement, and the CS rep said there were problems with some destiny codes so things are moving really slowly.

The way you're describing the issue sounds like you're not connected directly at all.
  1. Is your PS4 account set as primary?
  2. Do you have the "Use Wifi in Power Save Mode" option on your Vita unchecked?
  3. Have you played with the channel your PS4 broadcasts on?

These questions and their answers will get you closer to a better connection.

I fully expect Namco to only localize the PS4 version of God Eater 2 Burst.

They've done that kind of thing multiple times now (Pirate Warriors 2, DW Gundam, etc.)

Those are both licensed games that have involvement from an outside party in Koei Tecmo. Bandai Namco owns God Eater full stop. They've brought over Vita versions of games like DBZ: BoZ (too bad about Xenoverse #rip) and One Piece UWR. They've even brought over the Vita versions of the Milestone racers they've grabbed from Europe.

I can see the Vita version of GE2RB being PSN-only, though. At best you'd see a limited Gamestop release like Tales of Hearts R and One Piece.

PS4 is primary, Wifi in power save is off and has been off for months now after someone here finally helped me understand what it was, and I did play with the channel. I have no idea how to find the option to change the PS4 broadcast channel in order to change that, but using inSSIDer it shows that near me there are really no busy channels that should be creating interference. Do I have to manually join the wifi network the PS4 is broadcasting on my vita to direct connect?

I believe if you've never connected to it before you have to, yes. The Vita won't see it as a viable connection if you haven't actually used it before.
