OH MY GOODNESS.
I just read the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles "Micro Series" TPB. I know tons of you guys have said that the IDW TMNT comics are great, but for some reason I didn't really believe that they could be that good.
Those were some FANTASTIC comics. The writing was incredible and the art was incredible (all four artists on each one-shot were amazing).
Also, for someone who had no previous knowledge of TMNT, that was a great TPB to start with, since it gives a great introduction to each individual turtle and their personalities/skills.
I am totally buying the oversized hardcover that's coming out next month. I absolutely loved that.

Nightly News is fucking awesome.

If you like it check out Red Wing, Pax Romana, and A Red Mass for Mars.

Cool! Thanks for the suggestions!

I bought this TPB before I realized hardcovers are superior. Back when I first got into comics again. At least I only paid $8 for it.

I'm 5 issues in, and it's fun. I was hoping Alex Ross drew the whole series, but he only did the covers.

OH! aaaaaannnddddd COPRA: Round One is shipping to any comic shops that ordered it! If you know of a shop that's interested in carrying, retailers can order them wholesale by contacting Bergen Street Comics. As soon as I see a retailer selling these online, I'll let yall know.

Oh, that looks awesome! Is there any way to purchase it besides convincing a store to order them wholsale for you?

Also, you can read the first issue for free right here.

I've just read the first few pages and I'm totally sold. I just need to find somewhere to buy this. That art is absolutely fantastic. Right up my alley.

The main series is incredible. You're gonna really enjoy it.

I just finished Batgirl Futures End. Fucking onions everywhere. :(. My goodness that affected me more than I thought it would. It really felt like Gail saying goodbye to Batgirl. Specifically
the messages to the other Batgirls felt like Gail saying what she couldn't in the regular series.

Legitimately great issue if you have read all of Simones Batgirl.

I did a rare thing and picked up some new books from the shop when I stopped by. Got The Fade Out and Annihilator #1. Was hoping to grab God Hates Astronauts from last week but they got a tiny order and will have to drive down to the bigger shop this weekend.

Can't wait to read The Fade Out.

Messi better pick this Batgirl's FE issue

fake edit: whoops lol.
Dammit. My LCS included that issue when I picked my comics up. Hopefully it's not as bad as I think it is. Also, I removed quite a bit of books from my pull list. I'm only pulling 12 now on a monthly basis.

Can you return it lol? this issue is embodiment to what people afraid in this Future End's gimmick, coupled with really whatever art..

Aww yeaaaah, Copperhead had an awesome start. Not going to lie, but female lead=instantly interested. Makes it even better when the book itself is actually good and engaging.

wow, Powers showed up! didn't see that coming, here's to an issue of Scarlet again one day

also no idea why i'm reading death of wolverine (he's died at least twice that i can think of, both times were terrible) but for some reason viper keeps an army of reptiles from mortal kombat

Not yet, but I imagine soon. Don't buy one though!
I'm putting a copy in the package I'm sending you.
My buddy owns the LCS in town (Big Brother Comics), so I ordered 10 of them and kept a few for myself.

Oh my goodness. I can't even explain how grateful and excited I am to hear that. You are seriously the best.
I'm not sure I've ever felt such a strong and immediate need to own a comic after just seeing a few pages of it like I have for Copra. That art just appeals to me so much. I don't know what I would've done if I couldn't get my hands on it. Haha. You're a life saver.
I'm so looking forward to reading that! Thank you so much! That's really, really nice of you to do that!

The main series is incredible. You're gonna really enjoy it.

Awesome! I'm really glad the library had that TMNT TPB or else I probably never would've checked it out. IDW collected editions are just so expensive, it's hard for me to blind buy from them.

Dang dude, I wish I could only pull 12 a month.

The Messi Method™?

Are you reading Death Vigil Cheska? It's really funny and pretty to look at.

I'm so stoked to check this out when I get home! I dunno why, but I feel like I can relate to female led comics more than male led ones.

If i could say one bad thing about All-New Ultimates #8, it's that sometimes Milonogiannis doesn't draw faces sometimes on background characters, a personal pet peeve of mine in comics. However, otherwise, it's a good issue. Fiffe manages to pack in several character scenes and some cool fight scenes, sometimes at once! It's like anti-decompressed storytelling- not that it's a total one and done, but a story introduced in the beginning wraps by the end, while ongoing threads are still going on. Simple shit. A bit uneven, but it's a good young-team comic. Shame it's getting the ax.

Don't worry, everyone is going to be talking about the Ultimate Universe next year. God, Ultimate FF was completely horrible. I felt bad for the letterer.

I hope the Ultimate Universe dies in a really bad event at this point.
It deserves it now. (And it hurts to say this after great Stuff like Marvel Zombies, Ultimate X-Men and Ultimate Spidey was given to us through it...)

Guys. Elephantmen is seriously good. It's just pure fun and so creative. I'm really, really enjoying it.
I'd almost recommend just buying volume 2, but volume 1 is good and you might be slightly confused reading volume 2 without having read volume 1, though you could get away with it.
Volume 2 is just so great so far. Really, really good comics. You guys really ought to check it out.

wait i went a few pages back...why is wood taking over hawkeye? i don't get it; i loved dude on demo & his own stuff, and his one issue of moon knight so far wasnt terrible but how is he a good fit for these projects

Similar to this, Ross and Kruger did a DC series called Justice but Ross paints it. 12 issues. Pretty good IIRC.

He is at worst as good as Fraction.

Bought them earlier. Thanks :)

Really enjoyed the art in Captain Marvel this month. It must have been done by someone different than the first few.

Also really dug the first issue of Copperhead. Will be picking up another few issues to see where it goes.

Sounds like it awakened something within you that you never knew was there... is Elephantmen to you what Sunstone is to Messi?
;)

Bringing up sales numbers just gets me depressed. I used to follow it, but sales age stay outta comics. Especially when you a trying to launch a new comic. I already have enough depression and anxiety.

Just think of all the money you'll make selling your stockpile of criminally undershipped issues after people catch on.

I got into that book around the time the second volume came out and have been reading it ever since. It's a really cool fusion of pulp sci-fi and crime fiction. I never really mentioned it too often because I know just how obscure it is compared to most books. This is also another example of a series that Image puts out beautiful hardcover volumes for. The most recent trade was simply a TPB (mostly to do with the fact that it was recently re-branded to a certain extent), but the previous seven volumes were all hardcover volumes with fabric bookmarks. Glad to see there's another fan around.

Check out hipflask.com if you like the book. They have a store there that sells some art prints, and it looks like they just put up a bunch of new ones. The Tula Lotay piece of Vanity is amazing.

Haha. No, it's not like my new all-time favorite or something. It's just a really solid, great comic. The only reason I'm pushing it so hard is because people in this thread have this idea that it's a bunch of softcore furry porn filth due to what comes up when you search "Elephantmen" in Google Images. Granted, there are very occasional unnecessary, smutty scenes, but nothing like the amount you'd expect from what comes up on Google Images. In the dozen or so issues I've read so far, there have been maybe two or three pages with slightly disturbing animal-human-hybrid/human romance.
I really wish Starkings would've decided to do without it. The very little of it that is in the comic just comes across as immature and taints the name of a really enjoyable comic and makes it a hard sell.

So Carol is Captain Marvel these days correct? Does she have her own book, I imagine she's off world most time and not with the avengers?

i don't know that wood has been as consistent as fraction for me

unrelated: think i already forgot about original sin, these big arcs are doing that faster & faster for me

so the book is just ending right?
