This is it probably. After all Sakurai said he wouldn't be doing SSE this time but he would make the newcomer videos, so... yeah, they should be in the game somehow.

Duck Hunt Dog reveals DK Jr. and Lucas (*shrug*)
Bowser Jr. reveals Impa and Emolga
Chorus Kids reveal by itself, maybe show Wario and Jigglypuff for shits und giggles
 
If Pikachu was going to be clone, they'd probably just bring back Pichu since it would be more familiar to players as a vet, wouldn't feel left out of a video, and would have a gimmick and a taunt already thought out.

Cut out Lucina's splash screen and gameplay and Robin's trailer still makes total sense. Same for Dark Pit. They were both probably meant to tease alt costumes and when they wanted to upgrade them to characters, it was just good fortune they were already in trailers. No such good luck for Alph, who wouldn't even have a character trailer he could even appear it without it being kind of strange.

Actually, I think Lucina fighting Captain Falcon would make zero sense if they didn't already know she was playable and in the game.

What if they wanted a different gimmick though? Multiple jumps for Emolga would be cool.

Captain Falcon and Ganondorf?...

Dixie and Diddy are the same size and shape. Tail - Hair. They have guns. They can kind of fly with some special stuff they have.

Plus, it wouldn't be the first time that Pichu was up to be replaced by a Pikachu clone

I disagree. I think Sakurai wanted to do these videos in lieu of some sort of cinematic story mode, and I'm 100% sure he did a video that involves every newcomer in some way.

Just because they aren't revealed before launch doesn't mean they won't get a video.
 
I don't get the Dk timeline at all.

If Mario fought dk prime , dk jr then hangs around with the current one , how is he not in his 60's or older.

Let's be real here

Had the Vaanrose/ESRB leaks not mentioned/shown Duck Hunt or Doctor Mario nobody here would seriously be considering them being in the game in any capacity. Maybe Doctor Mario might get a few "well if we know they're bringing in new clones maybe they'll bring back old/cut clones like Doc Mario or Pichu".

At this point all these text leaks are dumb because you'd only know this info if you have the final build or some leaked strategy guide with all the characters, and then you'd just show pictures instead of text leaks. Heck lets just say you're afraid of taking a picture as it may get traced back to you, your text leak would have far more detail on all the unrevealed characters.

For the record I'd totally be cool with Emolga being in Smash, though why you'd bring him in as a Pikachu clone over say bringing back Pichu as a clone I wouldn't understand, especially when you've already brought back Doc Mario.

The reason why Ganondorf's been kept the same is pretty much legacy at this point. If Ganondorf would be changed, people who like playing Ganondorf in his current iteration wouldn't be able to play the character they like to play anymore.

I actually don't because I don't give a shit about Ganondorf in the Zelda games, but I do like how he plays in the Smash series

Except that they're not the same shape, and that you can't substitute an actual tail with hair. Their guns work entirely different (peanuts as opposed to gum), and Dixie's "special stuff" to fly with is her own hair. You can't just take Diddy's moveset and put it onto Dixie. She already will need a plethora of different animations, let alone some entirely unique moves.

All of the unlockable skins for Bowser Jr. have me thinking there's a lot of alternate skins we haven't seen yet -- only recolors/pallet swaps we have seen so far.
 
So I've been reading back through the last few pages and thinking "how can people be seriously discussing Emolga when it was already confirmed to be a Poké Ball?"

Then I realised that I was actually thinking of Dedenne...

THEN I realised that I've fallen out of touch with the pogeymanz and become everything I've ever hated

If we get more characters, then we get more characters. If we don't, then we don't. Only a few more hours to go!

In you believe the various rumors of unlockable alt costumes for characters sure

But based upon Sakurai's comments on alt vs clone I doubt it. Emolga has a very different size and build to Pikachu. Dedenne would have been a perfect alt option if he wasn't already a pokeball pokemon.

Is it so much to ask for an official version of Smash where Mewtwo doesn't suck horribly? Yeah we have project m but that's not an official game.

I'm having a hard time with everyone referring to Emolga as male, for some reason I just think of it as a 'she' (maybe because I had a female one in my Black 1 team - nicknamed Hit-Girl)

It's just one of those Pokemon that looks feminine despite being both genders, same applies with Jigglypuff and Mew*, they both look like girls to me

*I know Mew doesn't have a gender but it does just look like a female
 
We like to have fun

Leaks that are off-the-cuff create a dialogue about strange characters

Also, it makes perfect sense why Pichu would be replaced, he was almost replaced in Brawl
