I actually like the single player game quite a bit but man is the PvP garbage. The one hit kill abilities just ruin any kind of strategy you might try. Its like everyone was given power weapons on a cool down.

Soooo where the hell is venus? I'm level 14 and I still haven't played it once in crucible. Did they not include it after the beta? And where is the 5th game mode?
This is what I want to know. I have played the same mars maps over and over again. Played earth a couple of times and the moon map from the beta once.

Venus is easily my favorite planet but I havent seen one map in crucible? Wtf?

Gunslinger's golden gun is absolutely devastating against Warlocks and other elites.

The problem with Gunslingers is their complete lack of AoE.

I didn't level up high enough to try it (I was persuaded by the ways of the Bladedancer), but the exploding enemies perk is close.

It really does feel like there was a plan to populate the world with stuff and then they either never got around to it or it is forthcoming. Those small caves with nothing in them is one example. The other being the alien looking bubbly boxes/crates that are around that seem like they should be interactive but are not.

GUYS.

I DID IT.

SECOND PARAGRAPH, HO!

>The stars were mocking her. Sarah couldn’t shake that feeling, no matter how hard she tried. They were cold, and hollow, silently judging her worth like sentries for an unknown force far beyond the maximum range of her rifle. Like the thousand eyes of God, she thought. She shifted slightly in the grass, burrowing herself underneath the tall weeds, gripping her Angel’s Bane a bit closer to the chest, her finger resting on the trigger guard. I hate being out this late. Makes me all philosophical.

>An unnaturally cheery voice quickly replaced the silence as her earpiece fizzled to life. “Hey there, Scavenger 461! Just calling to tell you that your request for Objective 56 has been confirmed! ZEITGEIST thanks you for your service, and we hope you’ll work with us again in your future endeavors! Your packet is downloading now.”

This is gonna be the last post I make with actual story content. But seriously, I hope people read it. Not because I'm somehow an attention whore, but because I want my efforts noticed.

So I've probably missed it. But I got my PS4 Gold Headset today and read about some Destiny profile with sound. I R Lost. Anyone be kind to point in the right direction on how this works and how to install or whatever?

Just download the headset app from the playstation store. It's pretty self explanatory from there. You'll tell it to download the profile, tell it to transfer the profile to the headset, put your headset on 1 or 2 (whichever slot you want the profile in), and plug it into the PS4 using USB.

So bladedancer is pretty good but its dangerous to use it on the high level dudes... you just keep slashing and they smack you while you're doing it

I feel like Bungie has regressed a lot in the way they handle enemies and the player since the Halo 3 engine. Halo 3 scaled the amount of enemies based on how many players were in the game. Destiny doesn't do this, and as a result it makes playing through the story solo a not so fun affair. Another example is the way certain AI reacts to taking fire. Captains will get behind cover and they'll stay in a straight line with their cover and the player they are targeting. If there is only 1 player, it makes it really frustrating to get him out of cover to shoot him.

Those little side caves that all look the same are typically spawn points for random loot chests. Each chest in an area has multiple places it can spawn and I think they are not instances per-player (so other people often find them and put the spawn on CD).

my body is ready
for the grind

Finally got my first legendary, was patrolling on earth doing bounties and got a blue engram, id'd it and it was a legendary auto rifle, very nice. :). Honestly my biggest problem is the bare caves. There's a few areas on earth I explored at low lvl and they had ??? enemies in them and once I finally hit 20 I remembered to go back, but there's really nothing down there besides a couple guys. Why do they lock you out of these areas at low level when there's nothing there.? Like the grotto, nothing really there but an empty cave with lvl 20 thrall.

I'm thinking Hunter gets more fun later on with the unlocks. Right now I have a Hunter lvl 8 and Titan lvl 10. It doesn't take too long to lvl up, so switching characters isn't really a problem.

Think I'll do that then. :P

Titan seems like a lot of fun. And I think my group of friends could use that kind of character.

God damn so much late game armor is ugly as hell. I really do want to find Solaire of Astora's chest piece asap I hope the only way to get it isn't by doing the vault of glass.

Gettin' pretty goddamn sick if getting kicked from activities because I supposedly "left my fireteam" when I'm the only person in it. Three MP matches, three times kicked.

Update 5 (What is, and isn't, completely patchable):

What features/fixes should Bungie bring to Destiny before the first expansion?

What Can Be Patched In (hopefully)
- Improved encounter design
- Custom games
- Improved enemy AI (debatable; might be axed from the list)
- Improved variety of Patrol missions (possibly more context, too)
- Ability to skip cutscenes
  • - More loot drops for earlier levels
- Decreased loading times
  • - Public (proximity) voice chat
- Remove Orbs of Light from PVP
- PVP Mode with supers disabled
- Roaming enemies
- More randomized enemy spawns, both static and roaming
- Ability to turn on flash light
- Change Strike boss encounter design (more challenging, less bullet sponge)
- Change PVP reward drop randomization (possibly axe random entirely)
- Increase frequency of public events
- Sparrow races
  • - Option to go straight to starmap instead of orbital layer
- Penalty for leaving the instance (PvE & PvP), possibly reloading health and respawning enemies

What Should Arrive With Expansion Pack 1 (hopefully)
  • - In-game Clan Management
- Guild Halls
- Fileshare
  • - Better story design/flow
- Clan-specific awards
- Clan challenges
- Clan + Friends settings
- Possibility of 4-man fireteams (?)
- Swappable loadouts
  • - Join Public Missions matchmaking
- Stats on certain Bonds ((?) legendary armor?) instead of being solely cosmetic

Again, people are free to debate on what's in the list. If the majority doesn't see a suggestion as necessary, it will be removed.

Marked my higher priorities.

Also the game really should default to a public open party, and then remember your choice if you choose to make it friends only.
Right now it always defaults to friends only every time you start the game. Bungie did a really great job isolating everyone from each other.

You know what I really hope? For public event missions to become more common. Apparently the only viable method to get strange coins, which are used to get exotic items from the vendor that comes on weekends, it's with these. And I've never gotten one in the whole time I played while in the later stage of the beta they happened fairly often.

Come on man I want my Heart of the Praxic Fire and it's 7 strange coins. There's no guarantees those even drop after completing every public event.

I've done 3 public events and gotten 1 coin so far up through level 16.

in the middle of a STORY mission....just received:
"ERROR
Removed from the game world. Please try again....BLAH BLAH BLAH..."

wtf? now i have to start this whole fucking thing over again? ugh...

edit: seems to have dumped me near where i was...slightly less annoyed...

Game is addicting. I am at lvl 15, soo close to 16. Cant wait to be 20 tomorrow. My hand cannon is soo OP! Its impact larger than most and has only 4 shots but reload is super fast.

BTW I'm on Venus, I did the first story mission, but for some reason, all the rest are blocked off to me. What gives?

Why can't I play further Venus missions?

I'm actually thinking of switching to Titan. TBH, I'm not very happy with Hunter at the moment. I'm only level 8, and I'm not that impressed with the power ups. I'm hoping that the class opens up past level 10. All my friends are Warlocks, or I would have done that class.

Titan seems really appealing to me. I don't know if I want to start over so soon though.
Join us! I'm loving my Titan. She is wondrous.

The auto rifle nerf doesn't really seem to have had any effect whatsoever which is disappointing. They still make every other primary weapon type completely redundant and honestly the multiplayer is starting to feel exactly like the beta...get a Shingen-C and dominate.

BTW would someone please answer this:

WHERE THE HELL ARE THE PUBLIC EVENTS!!?!?!?

I've roamed Earth, The Moon, and now Venus extensively and I haven't seen one public event.

Are these things extremely rare or something?

Seems like they may have dropped the frequency from the beta; they were never common, but now they seem to be nigh-nonexistent.

Where do you even get the vaunted Shingen-C? I keep hearing about it.

I haven't seen it in the game yet. Is it for high level players or something?
