So how many people are supposed to show up on a world? Missions/roam are always almost empty for me, I'll very rarely see one or two other people who just run away doing their own thing.

So I just did Devils lair with 2 randoms, I'm l17 and it matched me with two other 17s.

Enemies were still level 8. So much fun running through everything. . I also got 10 green drops which is insane. Good for farming weapon parts.

It was a massacre. When you are killed then by no less than two Wizards and three Knights.

it was basically trial and error of "figure out what types of waves there were and which were the most lethal, and save your super/heavy weapons for those" because trying to kill two wizards and three knights with some precision was not gonna happen

might go back in again but man you really need a good fireteam or an hour of time

Get good scrubs!

Hey, how are you liking the Sunsinger subclass? I love it's usefulness when running with a group, but I'm very tempted to go back to Voidwalker for solo.

Also, which subclass do you prefer to use in PVP?

Right now SunBro is tough, because it's new and I do not have access to the super I really want. But man, I do love it! it's grenade is fantastic and when supered you can just spam that shit lol.

As for PVP I haven't even touched it yet, but I'll be using SunBro for that too when he's sufficiently leveled. I want resurrection so bad.

So do you still gain XP after 20, or is the leveling to 30 tied entirely to the equipment? I will probably only have done half of the strikes by the time I hit 20.

I'm in the same boat. I love the aspect of it all. Which grenade have you been using?

So at the moment I'm constantly playing catch-up.

I managed to play the first four Earth mission Tuesday, and then last night I jump on and all my buddies are going through the Moon, so I went about grinding a bit to try and reach where they are. Ish.

Went through the same four missions again, solo-ing on hard, which was a ton of fun. Haven't touched the Devil's Lair, haven't even looked at the Moon. I've basically played the same four levels twice. Throw in a couple of bounties and a round of Control, and I've closed the gap on my friends.

What's surprising is, I'm playing the same content I did in the Beta, handicapping my experience by playing solo, and yet I'm still having a good time.

Destiny's shortcomings are very obvious at times. I think if you isolate it's different mechanics, it comes off very poorly against something that dedicates itself to that individual components.

At the moment though, I'm having such a good time. I'm fundamentally having FUN. It seems that Destiny as a melting pot does enough, for me, to forgive the shortcomings. There are some glaring omissions, but there's nothing I don't think can't either be patched, or addressed further down the line. I do scratch my head when it comes to the decision regarding chat and communicating with other players.

It's not perfect by any stretch of the imagination, but I was unbelievably hyped and I have yet to be disappointed. As an overall package, it seems to be a solid starting point. I will continue to overlook any major issues because I'm having fun, and that is ultimately what I want from a game like this.

Oh wow. I guess I will save the other strikes for another character. I will see if I can hit 30 with my Hunter, if only for the benefit it should provide in Iron Banner matches. Thanks for the info.

You still level up your subclass. I've still got most of the last 2 rows of Gunslinger to go on my Hunter and I hit level 20 hours ago.

Yeah, that's the thing about this game - it's just a lot of fun. I'm also playing catch-up and redoing the same missions I already played in the beta and alpha (on hard), and everything still comes together to be really satisfying.

Venus mission spoilers (I guess)
"I don't even have time to explain why I don't have time to explain"
This really is some terrible terrible dialogue.
She then goes on to spout a few minutes of gibberish exposition anyway.
Venus is pretty though. I'll give them that.

my titan. dem bears colors for chamber(shader is called cicero btw).

getting level 20 blues happens almost constantly around 23-24, so youll get the light easily, and ive gotten probaby 4-5 legendary engrams so far. everyone but one has been crafting mats..

Got to level 20. Feels like Diablo where the soft level cap means you're just barely starting the actual game. I'm still on the damn moon. Canty wait to play more tomorrow.

Hey guys. I have an issue with this game. I'm not a huge FPS fan, but I see a major problem in the concept of the multiplayer. Maybe I'm not getting it. But basically I'm put into a match with level 20s. I'm a level 8. And they all have their fancy guns and armor. I couldn't get a single kill on them. And i would get killed almost instantly. Where is the fun in that? Just because they put more hours into a game doesn't mean they should be given an advantage that's not based on their skill. I am frustrated with this concept. Why not put everyone on equal playing field? Something similar to halo.

You are on an equal playing field. Stats and levels don't transfer to Crucible. You're bad.

Levels don't matter in pvp. Armor/health/Gun damage are all normalized. They will have more skills though, but they don't take longer to kill than you do.

no you are not, lvl 20's have ALL abilities unlocked and autoshotguns and whatnot :D

and i mean sure you CAN defeat them but the odds are tipped in their favor with the abilities and bigger magazines in shotguns etc.

They have access to better guns and abilities. One guy was teleporting all over the place. How is that fair?

Better guns? No. Different guns? Sure. As for abilities, at level 8 you likely have all the same "abilities" unlocked, the teleport just replaces a double jump. If you, like you said, couldn't get a single kill the entire match it's not because they had different guns and abilities.
