I feel like multiplayer should have had weapon spawns on the levels and everyone starting with the same guns . Worked for all their halo games. Too late to change now though.

I'm really not enjoying Destiny because playing on your own is not fun/exciting so,

If anyone wants someone to play with add me GT : Tommytosser (UK)

I only have 2 friends that bought a XBONE and they haven't even got it yet ;(

chances of fusion rifles getting destroyed in pvp? theyre ridiculous. between shoudler charge and fusion rifles, i don't actually have to use a primary weapon nearly at all

Can anyone explains the point in clans ?

I thought it would show the connected players in game, like in every other MMO but it doesn't. Nobody gives a shit about a 3 letters tag, we want practicality. Do I seriously need to have everyone on my friend list ?

Yes.

Just curious. After you reach level 20, is there a cap on the "light" level? I got my first piece of light armour tonight and reached level 8

So what is put on an equal level for crucible? I assume weapon damage and healt/defense are the big ones, but stuff like rate of fire, stability and reload speed still seem to matter on the weapons right? And offcourse skills, I guess.

This bothers me too. There's no point. Same as grimoires, they're useless unless you want to read them on an app.

Bungie should disable skill advantage and give everyone sportsmanship rewards at the end of each match.

weapon stats except damage basically remain the same. all players have 200 health. fast reload higher impact auto rifles and full auto upgrade high impact pulse rifles are the way to go right now. fusion rifle secondaries are insanely good.

it's speculated the highest light possible is 120 which brings you to character level 30. we don't know for sure because the exotic armor pieces needed legendary upgrade materials and no ones gotten them yet.

Hey guys. I have an issue with this game. I'm not a huge FPS fan, but I see a major problem in the concept of the multiplayer. Maybe I'm not getting it. But basically I'm put into a match with level 20s. I'm a level 8. And they all have their fancy guns and armor. I couldn't get a single kill on them. And i would get killed almost instantly. Where is the fun in that? Just because they put more hours into a game doesn't mean they should be given an advantage that's not based on their skill. I am frustrated with this concept. Why not put everyone on equal playing field? Something similar to halo.

dmg is normalized in pvp.

Holy crap! Nice kills there. I didn't know you got to run around in 3rd person while using your knife skill. After I played that part on the moon where
you can fight with a sword in 3rd person, I was like "I wish I could do this more. They actually made 3rd person feel fun"

Glad I chose Hunter.

So gun modifiers apply too (stuff like increased reload speed after kill)? Same goes for armor mods? Cause I have this pretty cool AR with high stability and increased reload speed after a kill, but for my level at PvE the damage is shit. Might be ideal for PvP then.

yes. my pulse rifle has the full auto upgrade and it works, along with the reduced recoil upgrades.

These cutscenes are brutal. I guess I'm happy there aren't more of them.

Already said it, but I seriously can't even believe how poorly Bungie approached the story/how they're choosing to tell the story. There's so much wrong. I don't get how it can go through so many stages of development without someone saying "hold up, what's going on with this" and lighting the script on fire. Like, it's so bad but in such a boring way that it's kind of incredible.

Howdy! First post here (am I excited?! Yes!)

Noob player here and I'll be starting tonight. If anyone wants to add me my PSN ID is DaytimeDreamer

Cool, time to head into PvP tonight then. Got a pretty badass pulse rifle since yesterday too. All armor mods increase reload speed and so does the pulse rifle if the mag is empty. Now I just need to unlock that shoulder/knee dash on my Titan.

I recently applied to DestiynyGaf europe but then im reading having a clan is useless because you still need to add EVERYONE to PSN. Whats the purpose of clans then? Smh
Anyway, here's my PSN : Izcariel

Just finished the final mission.

I have no idea what the story was. Got a cool yellow gun, though.

edit: Also, the last cutscene takes me back to the Tower, and then back to Orbit. But I have to get back to the tower to actually turn in the quest. Laaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaame.

Did anyone even playtest this? Didn't someone at Bungie do this a thousand times and find it annoying as hell?

I feel like I should be posting more....

But I haven't had time for anything but Destiny and errands... @_@

Good games everyone. Good games.

Finally got my limited copy. Played a couple hours, got to lv4 and feel like I could play all night. Can't though. Work early in the morning.

Feels great to be back. This game rocks

Had a blast playing my first strike, beating the moon missions and starting Venus with a couple of buddies. Super challenging but so rewarding and fun strategizing and playing with friends. Took a swing at crucible for the first time since beta and got our asses handed to us, but time will fix that.

Ok I know that everybody is on equal foot in PVP. But what about recovery, agility and armor? Those aswell? Because there are some skills that give bonuses.

no you are not, lvl 20's have ALL abilities unlocked and autoshotguns and whatnot :D

and i mean sure you CAN defeat them but the odds are tipped in their favor with the abilities and bigger magazines in shotguns etc.

100% this. Yes the stats are all normalized but with the extra player skills and access to much better weapons (not damage but many other great upgrades) they are in a much better position to win.

I just hit level 15 last night and seem to be getting thrown in with the level 20-25 players now and you can really tell the difference. My entire team was wiped out in one match by a hunter with the arc-blade skill. He just tore us apart.

Not complaining though. It is only natural that the players with better stuff and more time with the game will be better equipped. Eventually I'll be a match for them. that's the beauty of Destiny.

How does the exp works? If i kill an enemy at a higher level will i get more exp points?

basically yes. The higher level the enemy the higher the XP gain.

Picture of cap, all DAT Spinmetal!

Traded in 50 to Vanguard to see what the rewards were
+25 Vanguard Reputaion, +5 Marks, and 250 Glimmer per 50 trade in

I looked on The biggest second hand selling site (sort of like ebay) in my country and was shocked by how many people were selling Destiny allready.

I'd like to try it, but it's too expensive to just gamble on it..

So what`s with the blocked off sections in Old Russia? Expected these to be unlocked or part of another mission but you just can´t get to King`s Watch and there´s no continuation to the area in the crashed ship too. Future DLC strikes or something?

Curious, what are people using Glimmer for? Other than buying ships I can't see any reason to spend it. I did read in-game somewhere that the Gunsmith at the tower sells Spinmetal but he doesn't seem to have it.

Playing the game yesterday with some random stranger while doing side missions in exploration/patrol mode, the game finally clicked on me. Clearing the bounties and getting lots of XP for it was really motivating. I still can't stand the story missions though.

Short question: the exploration mode on earth - can I get to every other location known from the earth story missions from this one point or is it only that one area?

Level 10 atm. Just played three more pvp matches.

Didn't notice the level 20+ players being significantly more difficult to manage than the lower levels. Yeh, they have a slight advantage, but it's not like it will take long to catch them up.

Right now I look at them as the Elite members of the opposing team, the pvp equivalent of pve captains. Adds a neat dimension to the game. I might actually miss it when I level up to meet them.

The mode seems very well balanced to me, and is incredibly fun. I think I've found my new go to fps mp.

If anyone would like to party up, I'll be playing with a friend in a couple of hours for most of the day. We'll be dipping in and out of pvp and pve.

Add us both, put a note you're from Gaf for Destiny.

Me: astropoff
Him: admiralherrick

Cheers!

How do you get marks?

I've been getting reputation but I don't know the difference between the two.

This confused me as well.

You don't start earning marks in PVP till Level 18. Once you hit Level 18 you'll get marks in every match you play, 3 if you win, 2 if you lose. You can only earn 100 a week.

Any level 20s want to do the strike Playlist, PSN: Sebulon3k

Is it possibly to change what region the game matches me with? It keeps matching me with nobody when I queue up for strikes.

Marks are the currency for buying Crucible/Vanguard gear. Reputation governs your ranking. They don't start selling anything of value until you hit level 2 which is when you can start getting legendaries. You can gain rep as soon as you unlock bounties/crucible. Once you hit 18 you can start collecting marks.
