#NoPvP

A friend got one randomly from a pvp match, it was a purple with 5 motes, so I guess it's just random?

Yeah I'm not interested in the PvP. I have only done 1 mission on Mars and I don't want to do the rest until I have light armor to level, otherwise this will seem like a waste.

Just got to Venus...initial thoughts were underwhelming. Didn't expect Venus to have cars in the streets. Looks like TLOU with a yellow tint.

Do people see themselves playing this in 8-12 months time?

I'll still be playing for sure, this game was tailor made for me :)

MCC/Inquisition and Advanced Warfare will also take up some time, but I see Destiny and Dragon Age being my main social/MP fixes for a long while.

really quick, confirm or deny please, the vanguard armory weapons... are they only level 5 or if you get them at lvl 10+ are they lvl 10 weapons? ive heard conflicting reports....

Started playing half an hour ago and already dropped connection twice, gonna check my connection settings.

If you figure anything out, let me know. I didn't have any problems during the beta, but last night I was getting kicked off every 10 minutes or so..very annoying especially on strikes

I have not been doing ANY crucible since the Alpha/Beta - but it sure seems like folks are getting more/better loot drop from it than story/strikes. Is anyone else noticing a drop in encrypted engrams and 'good' lot in general in non crucible activities - or am I just imagining it / unlucky?

It is mostly what I have done the last day and a half of play time and I have gotten 5-6 blues with a couple more blue engrams. Up to the first story mission on Venus, didn't get any blues to that point. (Level 19 currently)

EDIT: I did get one blue from PvE, but it was a downgrade to a blue I already had gotten from PvP.

Why did Bungie decide to totally screw over the scout rifles? I friggin Loved them in the alpha and beta.. They just Suck in pvp now.

Guess ill have to find a new favorite weapon.

Oh and Shingen-C is still OP as hell in pvp, kinda expected them to better balance the weapons before launch.

There seems to be some hit detection or lag compensation etc. shit going on at times. I've seen lods of CoD:BO2 style "i put a mag into him and he kills me in one shot" or "i shot him and he then died a second to two later around the f'n corner".

I think that's part of what some are seeing as PvP imbalance.

I hope they can sort it out if it's on Bungies side because I'm enjoying the PVP more than I thought but if it stays on like my last match then nope lol.

Yeah I can confirm after level 10 they turn into level 10 weapons. I bought a level 10 fusion rifle from there last night.

Doing Strikes through the playlist is better because all of them are set to whatever level you pick at deployment (18/20/22/24) and you always get a guaranteed blue reward at minimum on completion. Plus you get Vanguard Marks and a little rep.

Do you only start getting Vanguard Marks at 18?

I get the impression that patrol missions aren't really that worthwhile unless you have a related bounty to be doing at the same time. The patrol mission xp alone seems very low.

I'm sure it's been asked before, but is there a way to trade/ give loot to other weapons of your fireteam? Didn't see the option.

Our team spent 40 minutes exploring that moon castle/cave whatever it was - insane detail in there. Wound up coming out of the other side - pretty awesome.

Have you played a Bungie game before? They tend to go the realistic route with standard weapons-building upon the concept of form and creating strong, punchy weapons from there.

The more interesting, creative stuff is the magic abilities.

This was never going to be a pop-y, comic book-ish take on things. That's not what Bungie does.

yep, agreee... doesn't make it less boring thou.

Legendary Weapons.

How are they acquired?

Are they random drops from enemies? Are they engrams? Are they found in chests? Are they purchased in the shop with tons of cash?

Yeah, I feel the game has completely missed its mark. It's obviously supposed to be Diablo-esque, but the gear is few and far between.

every green drop right now is like a white, it's trash, the rifle you get at the end of the story is beastly and nothing has out-scaled it yet.

Crucible is not bad, but the balance feels so off on the weapons still. And there is way too many one shot kills in it.

I'm confused on how the game balances weapons in the crucible. Do weapon stats even matter when level upgrades are off? Because I'm been doing pretty good with a low level auto rifle with only 30 ATK power or so.

The only thing I worry about is if loot is greatly increased, then everything quickly becomes trash except the top of the line shit.

So that doesn't "solve" a problem.

Game is really fun despite what some reviews or gamers say. I'm playing the campaign in coop with friends and it's a blast. Really feels like a Star Trek sci-fi exploration/action game. I'm at level 8 only but it's getting better each time i play.

I play as a hunter... guns are fun to use and have an amazing impact with rumble ! The Dual Shock 4 really feels great in this game !

Bungie HAS to put in proximity voice chat, or open chat up.

Last night was a terrible experience for me.

I was constantly trying to add people to be in my fireteam, no one joins. I would go back to the tower after every mission in hopes of finding someone.

Eventually, I ran across a fireteam during a mission and tagged along as the 4th man for awhile.. until they entered the darkness. Then it was me solo again... sigh

So then I thought, hey.. lets go do PVP! I know I can talk to someone there and maybe recruit them for a mission or two!

NOPE.

Crucible doesnt have voice chat unless you are already in a fire team and join that same pvp session with said fireteam. This is a crock of shit. How are you supposed to be a "team" when all you can do is dance and point as a form of communication. This doesnt work.

Bungie, this isnt acceptable.

After having zero hype at launch, I am in love with this game. But this is a giant flaw that HAS to be fixed.

I just teamed up with a random for a while. It's WAY more fun with a person. Even without mics or knowing them it was just fun to be a team together. Then I had to leave after one mission, damn. Still, good fun.

I've just got an exotic rocket launcher. You get a trophy for equipping one and it says that only 0.1% have got that trophy. Must be very rare indeed!

Speaking of trophies. Have you guys checked out the list and rarity? Only 2.9% have captured 50 points in Control!

Ok, what is happening here? I haven't jumped into PvP in the final game yet. I'm seeing you decimate people with BladeDancer, which looks incredible, but then I see that they are level 11s. Is it matchmaking you with others that have yet to unlock their own subclasses? How is that balanced at all?

I like it that they did it this way. Sure, it may have balancing issues but this should drive you to level up, become a better character, collect better weapons. The collecting stuff is a big part of Destiny and it's nice that the PvP has a connection with it. I wouldn't feel rewarded if my weapons meant nothing out of the campaign. There would be no point to it imo. PvP is giving me a reason to go back and finish up.

To be fair the game only came out two days ago :p

Y'know, it's funny. The game is a Diablo or MMO-lite that has a LOT of stuff that encourages / demands groups for max fun. Yet, because it's on console and they have no GM's or people to police the assholes, they go out of their way to prevent people from talking to each other.

It's kind of surreal.

If you're on PS4 or XB1 you can add me (level 20 on XB1 and about to start a PS4 dude..had medical issues or I'd have two level 20's already, sigh), and I'll rumble w/ya. Bizazedo on both.

Or if you don't like my name, add people from here, should help.

Agreed. They need to significantly increase the loot drop rates, because I'm hardly getting anything.

every green drop right now is like a white, it's trash, the rifle you get at the end of the story is beastly and nothing has out-scaled it yet.

I feel the foundation for greatness is there with Destiny, but it just needs a "2.0" patch that tweaks and adds a bunch of stuff. The amount of gear needs to be increased significantly and I feel they really fucked up with the leveling. It's way too slow, and like the gear, there's not enough of it. One of the smartest things Diablo ever did was the infinite amount of levels, end game, and you level quick. Tons of fast leveling, tons of gear exploding everywhere. That's how you make an addicting game. I feel Destiny doesn't have any of the addicting carrots dangling in front of the player in end game for players to continue to play for long time after launch.

Got moon strike done last night with a gaffer who added me from this thread. Went surprisingly well! We did a few missions together as well. After playing solo the entire time, it is definitely a more interesting experience to play with someone else.

nope. its chat.

i understand people love lore, but at the end of the day, this is a video game. im not coming here for story, im coming here for gameplay.

without a chat system, this game is seriously holding itself back from being great.

Mmm. Fair enough. For me, one of the major drawing points was a Bungie sci-fi story, so I'm inclined to knock a fair few points off for that.

I'm having fun with the game so far. Just got to level 11. Haven't touched PvP, just been doing campaign/strike missions with some friends.

I do have a problem with the lack of loot/chests. I'm used to BL2 (which I LOVED) where you find a little cave in the corner or a weird room off in the distance and you find a nice chest in there.

In this game, you can find tons of those little nooks and crannies that absolutely should have some type of chest or something in it but it doesn't :(

I will def add you (im on xb1).

But the fact that I have to go out of my way to a third-party site to find people to play/chat with is unacceptable.

How soon do you guys think Bungie can fix the chat issue?

Poodle what happened last night? (I'm NJ Shlice)

After you dropped I tried beating that last part like 15 times and couldn't do it. I was sniping the shit out of all the Knights but started running out of sniper ammo as I respawned.
