Just completed the weekly heroic, jesus, arc damage was so boosted enemies in Devils lair were 2-3 shotting me at lvl 24. Glad the arc damage boost works both ways, my grenade were doing 4-5k dmg per ennemy hit.

Pretty hard but it was fun.

Did you get decent loot? I'm wondering how many Strange Coins we'll need to buy anything decent from Xur.

so frabjous
That's awesome!

Hey I'll be back in 6mins. Making food.

Oh man, ever since I read that elemental damage has to do with shields, this makes SO much more sense.

Looking forward to carrying a weapon with each element and switching around based on what I am fighting.

Hey guys

Got a couple of newbie Qs

I'm a level 4 warlock

- Why can't I use the vehicle? I remember I used it when I first loaded the game and now it won't work for some reason! It tells me that it cannot deploy in the area!

- Mobs are really tough, I sucj at FPS games I know but the mobs are just kinda tough! Any way to reduce difficulty?

Do we know what hurts what yet?

Semi-related note, I feel that inventory management in this game kicks the shit out of Borderlands' system

It's disappointing when randoms don't accept fireteam invites - especially when we spend the bulk of the mission moving around together anyway!

The end parts are where I need a buddy!

I wish there was a way to signify that you'd like to join someone elses fireteam. Sometimes I'm just roaming around in explore mode and I come across someone doing an actual mission alone. I'd love to join them and help them out since I'm doing nothing in particular.

Except that there is no proximity chat and useless emotes. The only option I have is to invite them to my fireteam which cancels their mission.

Sending a request to join message might be a little annoying because then youd get messages popping up on your screen all the time, but perhaps R3ing a person and selecting "Request to join Fireteam" could have something obvious pop up above my players head or something. Something easily seen but also easily ignored.

I am of the opinion that the Crucible CAN be as fun as Halo when you're playing on a decent team that is coherent and knows what they're doing. If you're not, there are elements designed in the game that will just accelerate how fast you get frustrated which kills all fun factor, such as supers and heavy weapons.

I definitely think if Bungie can wring out as much of the PS4's power as possible to achieve a 16-18 player BTB style playlist with large maps and vehicles, they should at least try and do it. Destiny could really benefit from that style of PvP.

problem with Destiny pvp is it's not even. It's whatever armor and weapons each person has earned, as opposed to classic Halo which is "everyone starts with these weapons and this amount of shield/health.

K- is there any reason I SHOULDN'T make an awareness thread for www.destinylfg.com? Anything that would be against gaming side policies?
Do it. Do it.
Word. Thanks.

Guys, start using this- your experience will be improved, for seriously.

If their fireteam is set to public, you can just join from the R3-options menu without even needing to message them. But plenty of people don't do this.

Vehicle unlocks on a certain Earth story mission. Believe it is the 2nd one.

No difficulty setting. Just level up, get better gear and higher damage weaponry.

The current system is pretty silly. But I think you should always at least have a small chance to get gear. Maybe something like this for a 6v6 match:

Winning team:
1st place: 100% chance to get something, maybe 33% chance to get legendary.
2nd: 75%, 20% chance to get legendary
3rd: 50%, 10% chance to get legendary
4th: 50%, no chance for legendary
5th: 50%, no chance for legendary
6th: 50%, no chance for legendary

Losing team:
1st: 75% chance to get something, no chance for legendary
2nd: 50% chance to get something, no chance for legendary
3rd: 25% chance to get something, no chance for legendary
4th: 10% chance to get something, no chance for legendary
5th: 10% chance to get something, no chance for legendary
6th: 10% chance to get something, no chance for legendary

Sort of random number assignments obviously, but a system like this would be so much more satisfying.

Is this only at level 20? I played a match last night where everyone got gear except me, who was in 2nd, and the 1st place guy.

Damn son! What mode?

The game mode at the side of the destination map which is currently Rumble. Which is the free for all mode. What I don't understand is why it's at the side in the first place when it's also one of the four game modes anyhow. Yesterday it was definitely Skirmish because I remember sering it saying 3v3. So maybe it rotates each day and you get an extra reward for doing it, not that I noticed.

On a plus note.. I just cashed in a blue engram from a mission before and got my first legendary!
It's a Titan gauntlet :(

Great. thanks.. I've repeated the first mission 3 times now. and I'm barely at the level of the 2nd mission :(

Another Q. Can I sell stuff or just use the dismantle option?

It's all about the shields.

Arc does bonus vs blue shields. Void vs purple shields and Fire vs Orange shields.

So sa yyou fight a Fallen captain with a blue shield. use an arc weapon and you do WAY more damage, like 50% or something.

Apparently once you get into really high level lots of mutators missions (called "mythic" or something) enemies will gain all kinds of shields and elemental damage becomes super important.

I'm level 10, on Venus, and still just have the default ghost skin ><. I could have sworn I got one from a quest turn in, but it isn't in my inventory anywhere.

I need cooler ghost dag nabbit

Weapons are neutralized in PvP, I believe. Otherwise, a level 20 could steamroll a whole team of sub level 10s.

Who else did all of the missions on hard from the start alone? Was it do able? Did you have to do a bit of grinding to get through?

I have only ever played on hard but ever since the fourth earth mission I have been co-oping.

I can say that the first missions were not that hard though even as a lvl 2 vs lvl 3-4 enemies.
It's all about how you approach it.

This is just me saying what I think the reward system should be like. The numbers were kind of random, but the point was that I think because it's competitive, there should be better rewards for people who do better. But maybe it shouldn't be as much of a difference as I put, and maybe the chances shouldn't be that high for first place.

I have not yet encountered a single person in the wild with their fireteam set to public, in the Alpha, Beta or Retail. In threads online discussing the subject, it seems most people dont even know about that setting. And even if they change it, the game never remembers the setting and switches it back every time you start the game. It's crap.

I set mine to public every time I play. It really needs to remember my setting.

The only one I did co-op was the one before the last array, and that was RIDONCULOUS but super fun. I lost my squad after that so I decided there was no way I was doing the last array on hard alone considering how crazy and intense the previous mission was with 3 people.

Well I now i'm going into the first moon mission on hard so lets see how that goes.

Yeah, the left thing seems to be a rotating map/mode selection that has bonus XP/rewards.
Arc does bonus vs blue shields.
Void vs purple shields
Fire vs Orange shields.
awesome *Scribbles furiously*

I must amass a hand cannon arsenal for this

One of the modifiers I read about was like "All Arc Damage does 400%", so bladedancers become like ridiculous, but enemies that use Arc (dunno which these are yet) are super deadly too.

That game mode is the daily (weekly?) bonus mode. play it, it has some extra rewards for you, mostly extra XP.

It is frustrating that the crucible isn't performance based in the slightest 28/4 and I get nothing while a .63 kd gets this guy a legendary. Doing good doesn't even give bonus reputation. Just baseline for everyone who finishes the match.

I'm surprised more people aren't using HCs in PVP, they're so freakin' powerful and awesome. Don't tell people that, though :p

Let 'em keep using their ARs

They take too much skill to use effectively (imo?) for the majority of people to use them.

I haven't played a Halo multiplayer since 3 but I don't remember the guns having as much recoil as they do in Destiny.

Is there a Vault or something we can stash weapons/armor in? Since we only have a limited amount of slots.

Yes, when you reach the tower there are three pillars with consoles attached to them. You can walk up to any of the three to access your vault. The vault is cross character as well.

Are you serious, it doesn't remember the setting?! That's nuts. I thought I could set it once and just forget about it forever.

Ok, what is happening here? I haven't jumped into PvP in the final game yet. I'm seeing you decimate people with BladeDancer, which looks incredible, but then I see that they are level 11s. Is it matchmaking you with others that have yet to unlock their own subclasses? How is that balanced at all?

Well you only unlock the subclass at level 15, so I likely had as many abilities as the level 12 people. When you unlock the subclass you essentially start over with no abilities (no grenades, super, special melee, etc).

attack =/= damage

"Impact" is damage, attack is a rating that is being used against an enemies defense.
Attack and defense have no meaning in PvP cause they are standardized.

I could use a handcannon with max impact and 10 attack and you a handcannon with half impact and 5000 damage and I would do more damage to you than you would to me.

This blows my mind. Has Bungie written up anything explaining all the stat categories?
