Wow I just finished the Moon Strike mission for the first time as a Level 16 and I didn't like that final fight at all. It's just a battle of attrition. There is no strategy whatsoever. I thought the bosses in the beta were bullet sponges cos it was the Beta and the beginning of the game so I overlooked it but this one was just annoying and the constant wave of Wizards and Knights didn't help either. Frustrating.

I know the feeling. Makes me question the "level" playing field. How people can melt me with 3 auto rifle bullets I'll never know

So it's not just me! *sigh of relief*

Sounds like you were killed by a machine gun. Also, if you were good in the alpha and beta, no doubt you'd be good in the final release.

My god, is anyone else constantly losing connection to the Bungie servers on PS4? It's so frustrating doing a mission and getting booted. Playing control on crucible and no warning I lose connection.

I don't think it's my internet because I don't lose connection to PSN and my NAT is type 2.

#notlikethis

This happened to me a lot. Today I got booted 5-6 times, once few seconds before end of a Strike. T_T

However, my reported error was "no internet connection" that also booted me out of my PS4 Party Chat session. Because of that I suspected that the culprit is my router who maybe does not like "low bandwidth state" that PS4 maintains with PSN/Bungie servers. This type of disconnect never happened on my PC. So I just activated some torrent to work in background to maintain some bandwith, and..... that gave me 2 hr of Destiny time without any disconnect. Strange... but it worked. I will need to test it more though.

If it's anything like the Warlock glide if you aim down sights it should cancel it.

I will try that as soon as i get home, thanks

(Would be a weird mechanic, but i'll take it)

Edit: Thanks guys...press jump again. Not sure why i didn't try that once in the last 15 hours of gameplay.

do the toughness, recovery, and agility modifiers used in these codex toggles have any effect in standard MP? how about the damage boosts guns get when upgraded? It would be nice to know what exactly is normalized and what isn't.

Not understanding vanguard marks.

I do bounties. The dude gives me marks, and I check my inventory and I have no marks. What gives?

Yeah some rare armor I've gotten from the crucible randomly has had light points so there's definitely that way. The speaker's items are purely cosmetic and have no stats whatsoever. Just capes for hunters bonds for warlocks etc. that look really cool. So don't worry about those. The armor from the factions DOES have light which is why once you're 20 you should be doing bounties a lot to get rep and marks for the factions. Also the vanguard playlist you unlock at 18 will get you rep and marks as well as the possibility for high level gear.

you're awesome thanks!!

so now I'll choose a faction, stick with it, and do a lot of crucible, focus on bounties, and vanguard missions in order to increase the faction rank as well as crucible rank, and slowly get some light armor + cool weapons

maybe i should finish the story too! :)

It's not an excuse because these things should work/be right from Jump Street, but I have a feeling in like two weeks sooooo many things wrong with the game will be resolved.

I think here's where the hype did a huge disservice, because everyone wants to non-stop through the game, which is natural, because it is amazing. So we're like "Augh, this rots, why is there no matchmaking everywhere, why are there so few loot caches, why is it so hard to come across a Public Event?"

And nearly all of these things (and more) can be resolved with a few tweaks to the infrastructure.

Some can't, of course. I doubt they'll ever take away having to return to the tower, for example, but overall as much as I love this game so damn much right now, I feel like in a few weeks it's going to be like a severely remarkable experience.

A Warlock specced into Agility may as well have the ability to fly. All the Warlock needs now is infinite grenades without a cooldown. I dunno if the Sinsinger can do this, but it gets close to.

As long as the community is still thriving by the time the first chapter of my
fanfiction
story is out, then I'll be happy.

I've now had multiple people message me about my exotic rifle. This thing is a babe magnet.

just got an exotic sniper rifle from the crucible *0*

yay

I'm about to hit 20 and I still haven't unlocked Mars :3

So far, I think Destiny takes what's addictive about MMOs and shooters, and distills everything else, and leaves only those specific qualities.

Also, I'm surprised there's no open world PvP. Given the limited amount of players in an area, I suppose this makes sense. However, I feel gunfights would be amazing on all the planets outside of their respective PvP-dedicated maps.

I have a bad feeling they won't budge on mm. They've had complaints before release and still didn't change it, I think they are gonna be stubborn about it.

I think I have a problem with my ds4's right analog stick. Sometimes it doesn't do anything when I move it, and sometimes it jerks around randomly for a second or two. I had the same problem during the beta, but I thought maybe it was a glitch in the game, but the same thing is happening now, and in Resogun, too.

I hope Target is willing to exchange just a controller from a system, although I somehow doubt it. What is Sony's RMA process like?

I went in with a new character that didn't even have a super and I was still consistently getting at least 1.5 kdr each match, averaging around 2.0. I think it's balanced. Haven't gotten below a 1.2 kdr in a match with any character yet.

I understand the feeling though, I used to be kinda bad when I started playing Halo... but eventually Competitive FPS just kinda clicks and then you're good at all of them. Things like understanding sightlines, radar awareness and predicting opponent movement eventually become natural across any FPS game.

How is warlocks sun singer? Also.. Just how much more tanky is a warlock compared to a hunter ?

So far I like it. I only just now unlocked the special melee for it (sets enemies on fire if it doesn't kill outright). It's DOT oriented with the burns you do. Also, the super seems to make you stronger and faster slightly, gives you an extremely fast grenade cooldown, and every kill you get while your Super bar is draining drops at least 1 orb. It's great for support in strikes when you want your teammates to use their supers a lot.

Where does it show your reputation that you've earned? I am still not understanding this.

That reddit link just confused me even more :(
When you go to the vendor, there's a circle being filled with the faction symbol in the middle- that's how close you are to the next rank. How much you have in purely numeric terms doesn't really matter, it's all about getting to Rank 3 of a faction to be able to buy its gear.
