Destiny |OT2| The Last Guardians

Great post. Agree with everything. Destiny would feel so much better without ADS, or at least without those stupid accuracy penalties.

Run and gun >>>>>>>>>>>>>>> Run or gun

That said, I have to admit ADS in this game doesn't feel as bad as in most games, for some reason.

I've noticed the latter, too. I think they do some pretty great depth of field on the body of the gun to emphasize the sights. It makes the gun feel less obtrusive.

Yep, Bungie are definitely going to be supporting this game heavily. I assume The Queens Wrath is story content they're dishing out for free.

But of course, they said as much. People just jumped the gun because they went crazy fast trying to reach max level day 1...

Is there a reason to replay story missions on the level 20 challenge? None of them have anything under rewards, and I did two already and didn't get a single item for completing them. Seems like there's no carrot on the end of that stick to entice people to replay those missions on end game difficulty, except for the challenge.

No, Vault of Glass is the raid. This is the first we have heard of the Queen's Wrath...

Whoops, you're right my mistake.

Edit:

Well, they're faster than a strike.

Could someone please explain the difference between the 3 different PvP factions? Their items are all identical it seems and their gear looks the same. Is the only difference emblems and gear color (which is lost b/c of shaders)???

nope...i believe u will have the exact same chance for drops no matter what difficulty. scaling is kind of all messed up in this game

Well... It's not like that was a hard feat. Completing the story got you near level cap, and the story could be completed in a day easily.

Though I assume if they slowed down character progression, people would complain it's too slow to level up. It was a no win scenario with this small of a level cap.

I'm looking for more power. I'm a level 22 with almost enough light to hit 23. Does anyone have any tips for getting gear with more light? I'm a warlock and I have the new monarchy band on to get rep with them. I assume it must be possible to hit 26 without buying gear though. No one would be able to raid effectively if it wasn't possible to hit 26 before the raid unlocks.

Destiny sucks.

Just finished the story, co-op with my brother.
We had no idea that Mars was the last planet, it just seemed like the game was getting started because there were no real characters or villains or any type of story at all so far. When you kill 3 unremarkable enemies that came out of statues, that look the same as any number of enemies you'd fought before, and that's the end of the game -- it's so anticlimactic that we were initially confused as to what just happened or how the game was over already.

This is the most substance-less AAA game I think I've ever played.

now -- the idea that this is where the game really starts, as the npc implies -- you can't just pull that shit when it's not really an mmo. it's not really a persistent world. what do they want me to do, go run repeats on the same missions, (which will force me to watch the same cutscenes) forever? there's no WORLD to exist in, which is what makes the endless part of an MMO actually work. There are no quest, there are no real npcs, there is no ability to talk to other poeple, and you can't even name your fucking characters.

Sorry, but this game is a joke. It's a shiny, flashy, billion dollar joke.

Yeah sounds like bounty missions to me. Just like
that mission on Mars where she wanted that gatelord's head

Possibly, but hopefully some of them are inside the Reef itself. Such a beautiful location needs to be made better use of.

You might have noticed after you spoke to that NPC that no credits rolled?

So, I did a strike in the playlist today, ended up in Venus. The boss there was the biggest bullet sponge I've ever fought in a game, and the infinite adds didn't help.

Loving the game so far, got a Shingen-E (rare) today and don't want to chance weapons anymore, the thing is awesome in PVP.

I love the core mechanics of the game but the single-player campaign is absolutely horrendous. Feels like 3/4ths of it was either cut completely or held back for DLC. If it's being held back for DLC then Bungie should be ashamed of themselves for releasing such a half assed game.

Everything with Bungie is color based; The Crucible announcements are red and the Vault of Glass is Grey, but the Queen's Wrath is yellow... any ideas that that could signify?

Well, Public Events are yellow. And looking at the map of the Tower there seems to be special location/starting point for "Events".

sooo you havent played strike playlists, pvp, bounties, soon to come raids, etcs ? the game really does start at 20... sorry you cant see that.

Day three of IGN's review in progress is up. Between them, Gametrailers, and Giantbomb there always seems to be the guy that doesn't really like it, the guy that likes it, and the guy that LOVES it. I wonder how this will affect scoring? Do you error on the side of caution and pick the opinion of the guy in the middle? I mean with like a sports game you pick a guy who likes sports games to review it, but with Destiny just "Shooter fan" or "RPG fan" doesn't really dictate enjoyment/non-enjoyment of the game. Hmmmm....

U know u r done with this game when u have a badass looking level 15-20 character and u go online and get absolutely whooped by a level 6 character. Yeap. Fuck this.

The more I play, the more I really like the game. I think there are a lot of things I would've done differently with the game design, but at the same time, the more I play the more I enjoy it for what it is. I think a lot of people (including me) came in expecting/wanting this to be more Diablo/Borderlands, but it really is more Halo with some of those elements on top. And I love Halo/Bungie's combat, so I'm happy to have that, I was just expecting something a bit different than what they made. Also, I feel the game is a very slow burn for quite a while; they really back-loaded it with almost all of the good stuff being very far in.

Also, all leading up to release, I felt like the music from the trailers had been absolutely awful, but man, I am continually blown away by how great the music is in game, both during downtime and especially during the end-mission encounters. Some of the best music I've heard in a game. I really hope they can replicate it without Marty, or that a lot of it wasn't just done by Marty, because if future games don't have it they will be missing a very important element.

But that's because level strength is normalized in crucible. If you want your level benefits to matter, wait for Iron Banner next month.

I decided that today had to be the day that I had to beat the weekly Heroic. The Devil's Lair more than lives up to that name when the only enemy that can't kill you in less than a second is Sepkis Prime itself.

2+ hours later, and reconfiguring our strategy on what room to hold out in for Sepkis, and we managed to get it done. It was fucking insane, but we got it done.

Is there a section of DestinyGAF (North America West) that has a healthy population of Xbox One players?

Looking to join the DGAF clan for future raids, herioc strikes, etc. but not sure which group to apply for.

Left in the middle of a story mission, went to other planets, patrols, back to the tower, all that shit. Came back to that stage, and it dropped me where I left off.

<3

Gaf, recommend me some good pvp weapon. I suck soo bad but dammit stupid laggy mess...right now.

Warlock both classes and am level 20. I have 2 rare pulse rifles and a handcanon. One of the pulse has auto ability yet to unlock though.

I haven't used the pulse rifle since beta. Unless it changed dramatically cause I remember it sucking.

Handcannon is good if you can aim decently, otherwise auto rifles may be a good bet. For most maps, fusion/shotty are the the secondaries to use. Fusion is better if you have a knack for charge timing and quick aiming. You'll one shot over longer ranges than a shotty.

Yeah. Stupid skill being a stupid deciding factor in stupid victory.

/s

Haha. U don't get my rift. I mean that I am embarrassed that I look boss yet get whooped online like its nothing. I wouldn't have to be subjected to this sort of treatment if the game had a great campaign. The game is forcing me to play online and get smacked. Its hilarious. I look so intimidating yet I suck bad.
