So i finally got a legendary drop, and guess what... it's a Warlock item. What the fuck?! I have no interest in playing that class at all. All drops up until now have been Titan drops, but this one just had to be some random bullshit that I didn't even know about the game. Talk about major anti-climax.

Beast of a Titan you got there. As a Warlock, I wish we were given an option to trade.

What do you generally play? PVE Vanguard Strike? Regular PVE Patrol? PVP?

I'm quite annoyed that Bungie changed how loot chests worked in the beta because of some OCD-ridden dipshits. Worlds feel empty now, like there's nothing to loot at all.

Wait, how does it work now? I had a friend last night who already completed a mission I was doing for the first time and couldn't see a loot box that I could.

Polygon mentions that the PVP is unbalanced because of abilities and unlocks, which is

a. something we've seen in every multiplayer game since CoD
b. a point of contention, when several other reviewers have said the opposite
c. ridiculous, because I've played it and its mostly skill-based

At what point can a reviewer (or two) just not get it? Is that Destiny's fault for not putting up a prompt which explains how a sandbox multiplayer game works- and that just because someone killed you with the super you dont have does not inherently mean your super is worse or unbalanced?

All the other factions require Crucible Marks along with the reputation requirements. So you have to PvP.

This.

Factions reputation is gained from doing PVP bounties. Crucible marks are gained from just playing PVP (3 marks for a win, 2 for a loss).

So don't join a faction if you don't play a lot of PVP.

Don't know if this has been clarified since but yes, the Crucible Marks you need for the Factions are only gained through PvP so in the end you have to play PvP. But to increase your Faction Reputation you don't have to do just Crucible Bounties - PvE Vanguard Bounties also work towards Faction Reputation.

So, Marks (Currency) are tied to the game modes - Reputation (Experience/Rank) to your class item:
1. Vanguard Reputation = Vanguard Bounties with "normal" class item.
2. Crucible Reputation = Crucible Bounties with "normal" class item.
3. Faction Reputation = Any Bounties with Faction class item.

The lack of truly deep weapon customization is really lame. I want to customize my grips, rails, scopes, or even the damn color/camo. I don't mean a single scope for a rare gun here or there, I mean for every one.

Come on.

Its funny the eb and flow of this thread. It will be interesting to see where it goes but if Bungie can keep up post game support and listen to the user base I think we have something really special on our hands. Especially on consoles.

I know what you mean... it's like a fantasy novel: complete with light hearted comedy, dark periods and light at the end of the tunnel.

In terms of the game, most definitely could be something special, so many MMOs have slightly shaky starts feature/content wise, and slowly but surely work their way back into the good graces of the media/general gaming public.

Destiny isn't a MMO obviously, but I think the same determination to better itself needs to be applied here to smooth some of the rough edges and make the diamond really come out from the rough.

Proximity chat/Team chat would be a great start.. oh, and in-game clan management pls Bungie :D

All I want to do is a add a beard to my shotgun...is that too much to ask!?

Well I hit 20. Now it looks like a lot of the really good armor/weapons are based on continuing to crucible matches and raids. Hmmm. I'm not really sure what my next move will be. Might re-roll with Titan.

in 15 min or so I'll jump on my PS4 to get to lvl 20.

If anyone wants to do stuff, i am up for story missions on the moon and earth, the earth strike and maybe some PvP!

Just hit me up on PSN: Klyka1

I'm also totally up for running with some beginner players to explain stuff and have a good time

I just kind of wish there was a barber/appearance guy in the Tower. Not too fond of my Titan's face in the light of day.

The character models in this game can look pretty ugly (due to how the light hits their face). I actually found that the human side looks much worse than the Awoken for this reason.

Every single strike boss is really boring, I've enjoyed a lot of the engagements with the regular enemies during strikes but as soon as you get to that last boss it's just a boring bullet sponge that repeats the same attacks until it's dead, it kills any momentum you had before as they aren't really challenging and they go on for so long.

I just got a purple packet from the postmaster for leveling up the cryptarch. "chance for legendary and rare items"

Open it and get 3 blues, 0 purples. Decoded all 3, and got 3 greens.

Jesus christ.

Yeah. If the Moon boss wasn't surrounding by an ever-respawning horde of Knights and Wizards he'd be a cakewalk.

I understand the salt about getting worse engrams than their color and stuff. Personally, my gear is shit.

But then again the game has only been out for three days now. Do you really want to get the best gear already? Isn't it better that awesome drops actually mean something?

Guys, is damage normalized in every PVP mode? Just played a round of that capture the relic mode (I'm lvl 11), and every time I ran into this one lvl 21 guy, he'd take me out first every single time. Even if I started shooting first, I could barely take down his shield and it felt like he killed me with 2-3 bullets. Is he that good or is something else going on? Btw, that guy played Warlock, he had AR.

The frustration is that since drops in general aren't that common, when you get a rare engram there's this period of excitement. You have to finish the mission/strike/whatever, load up the tower, and run over to the guy to see what you got. It's massively frustrating, then, if it turns out that this rare drop you got is actually worthless.

I finally opened my pre-order copy, so it's time to give this one a go. The game better be good. :S Metacritic is getting interesting to say the least...

Any beginners (and others too, ofc), feel free to add. PSN: Kimmo_DSP. I'm in the EU.

The RNG gods weren't on your side :( Such a crushing feeling though, I think we've all been there. Usually means better luck is coming soon I think on the bright side!

WTF is up with loot distribution in this game? I go through a strike, get more than 2x the kills and more assists than the other players. I never died and they had to be revived multiple times.

At the end of the mission I get a blue engram that turns out to be an uncommon item but the other guys, at least 1 got a blur engram and rare armor at the rewards screen. Makes no sense.

It rewards the crappier players. Same in Crusible as well.

Same with pvp, the loot is given out randomly. I got two second places on a team that won, neither me or the top guy even got a drop.
