Giffen/DeMatteis/Maguire Justice League International is almost definitely collected in some form or other. Dunno how in print it is though.

Thanks!
All the TPBs are in stock on IST, so that's awesome. I'll definitely pick those up at some point.

Good lord, the iPad Air is so perfect for Marvel Unlimited.

New Grendel??? and it's a The Shadow crossover?

must git.

Anyone here who is a fan of Matt Wagner read this yet? Does he do the story and the interior art as well as the cover??

Heavier? Was the previous gen lighter? I upgraded from an iPad Mini.

i could have worded that better, ipad 3 is heavier than ipad air by about .44 lbs. (ipad 3 is 1.44, ipad air is around 1 lb.) but they both have the same screen resolution since Apple hasn't increased it in years.

I have an ipad 3 and it's great for reading on MU or Comixology. I'd upgrade at some point but it might be just for more space to store more comics!

I would say that the iPad Air might be the definitive reading experience for comics in general. The form factor of that device is just amazing.

And when you read books like saga that are digital to begin with on that screen?

It's pretty fantastic. I only have an IPad 3 though. I'll get the next air I think.

But the screen between the two (3 vs air) right? They're both retina displays with the same resolution.

13 issues.
Aww. :(

Seriously though, I'm envisioning a plot where the 3K League, now augmented by the Blue and Gold, have to dig up information on the past by locating someone called "the Archivist." To find him, they return to Takron-Galtos/Earth and track him down to the most remote, inhospitable location on the planet. And when they find him... they find that the Archivist is a wizened, withered looking alien. Green skinned. The last of his kind. The Archivist is unresponsive to their presence until Booster says "we got this, gang, just hold on a sec," and Beetle reaches into his utility belt and pulls out... a Choco. The last Choco in the universe, kept safe for a thousand years by the cryogenic slumber they endured. Beetle holds it out in front of the Archivist, whose catatonic gaze suddenly focuses intently on the snack. Tears welling up in his eyes, his body shaking in joyful booming laughter, J'onn rises from his chair and wraps Beetle and Booster in his arms, speaking for the first time in centuries: "My friends." Feels are had all around, even by Bruce. Even by Diana.

...

Then Clar- uhh, Superman says
"what's the big deal? It's just a stupid cookie" before using his super-speed to snatch the treat from J'onn grasping hands and shove it in his mouth, too fast for anyone there to stop him. "Ugh, it's stale even," he says with crumbs flying, as he chews and swallows the Choco, with everyone staring on in stupefied horror.

There were no survivors.

Booster and Beetle coming back and poking at the previously ironclad New 52 is great.

Read the Futures End Grayson story and that was an interesting read. I talked to Seeley about it at the con, just commenting on the polarizing reviews and he said that it was all Tom King. Tim did not think it was a good idea but Tom fought for it. I'm happy he experimented with the narrative structure for the gimmick month book, why not?

Grayson Future's End is about the only thing from the whole event worth a shit. Great, great issue. King is a smart dude if he pushed for it.

Speaking of, that might be when i upgrade, when 32GB or more is standard for the base model of an ipad, this 16GB stuff is ridiculous as is paying $100 extra for more.

I might get the next version iPad Air( currently using an iPad 4) since it's a little lighter

I have 3.6GB of comics on my iPad so far. More going in, but none going out. I deleted all the music and a bunch of apps to make room for more comics!

Anybody getting tired of what Slott is doing to Felicia? Give the fucking book to somebody else already.....

I'm kind of hoping
the whole point of building felicia up to be a legit villain is to have pete and her start hooking up (or at least admit they had feelings for each other) and then put pete through the emotional wringer of having him have to fight against her as spider man.

Slott's storytelling is just garbage at this point. The dialogue is really clunky and this whole Silk nonsense seemed like it moved a mile a minute. And all this really seems out of character for Felicia. I am excited for Spider-verse but Slott needs to move on after this. I hope someone comes in and fixes Spidey/Black Cat.

My wife just read All-Star Superman, her first Superman story and she loved it. She told me that Superman is "just a good guy" and she really likes him.

A new printing of The Incal is coming out in two weeks, anybody read this? It there a certain reading order? Is it like the best comic ever?
Interesting. Never owned any moebius work but have always been curious.

Attention crime comic fans! stray Bullets sale on comixology

https://www.comixology.com/Stray-Bullets-Sale/page/3389?tid=B140913001_Image_Stray_Bullets&utm_source=brick&utm_medium=sale&utm_content=B140913001_Image_Stray_Bullets&utm_content=Image

The full first volume and first five issues of the second volume are on sale. Buy. Read. Enjoy.

Just pick it up if you're interested. Moebius comics in English are a rarity and Humanoids stuff tend to be limited runs so you could probably just resell it if you really hate it.

Get her Superman Secret Identity next. That and All Star are the two best Supes stories ever.

Anyone read copperhead
I found the lead character to be obnoxious. I mean she is another "tough single mom who does things on her own" and I've become tired of this annoying trope. I was surprised since I usually like Jay Faerber stuf.

Anyway, for me Zero is at it's best when it focuses on the lead character which is why I found issue 9 to be the worst issue of the series. I don't give a crap about Zizek so that entire issue is a waste of space. FFS Ales, Zero > other characters in the book.

Btw people wanting to read more from Faerber check out Dynamo 5. I haven't read Copperhead yer but Dynamo I think is his strongest work

Woah whoa what?!!

I'm going to have to disagree with on that. There was a bigger message going on in that issue that went beyond the story.

Also it was the
birth of Zero

Best issue of the series, IMO

Harrier, hook me up with some Legion collections brah.

Legion Trade Reading Order

There is, unfortunately, something of a gap in the collections during the Legion / Legionnaires era where we had two concurrent Legion books. Outside of the older stuff I'd suggest Mark Waids Legion as a weird, quirky, but fun take on the Legion that starts with "Teenage Revolution".

Other suggestions: Legion Secret Origin, Elseworlds: Superboys Legion, Titans/Legion: Universe Ablaze.

Hot.

I wonder when we'll see some ComicsGAF slash fiction.

I got stood up for Destiny man-dates by both Korupt and Zombine*. Twice by Zombine. His message was something along the lines of, "Sorry breh gotta go bang and clang and then mix some sick beats afterwords".

*
In reality I just have terrible timing.

I've seen the choice in issue 9 play out so many times across various media and while I get what Kot was doing, the entire issue left me cold. I loved issue 10, it was really poignant and a nice change of pace from the previous 9 issues.

Yessss, D5 is his best work.

Worlds' Finest: Future's End.

Having read Paul Levitz, over time, it's kind of sad watching him descend towards the unspeakable depths of Nocenti Hell.

That said, Yildiray Cinar draws a gorgeous Power Girl. I also like her long haired look.

Deadly Class volume 1: Reagan Youth

It's amazing how this comic goes from genuinely hilarious moments - the beginning of the acid trip, arrival in Las Vegas - to some seriously messed-up stuff. It's violent, often sick, dark, fascinating. The art is striking and uniqe thanks to the colors and layouts. Subtle emotions of characters' faces and the way movement is shown also stand out.

Reading stuff like this always makes me realize how much of an easy - and at times definitely sheltered - life I've led. Like, I'm twenty years old and I've never even SEEN drugs harderd than weed. Meanwhile these foruteen-year-olds are doing acid and tripping like crazy. And then I hit the afterword in which Remender says that during his high school years he saw things like a guy getting his head blown off, people overdosing and commiting suicides.

At first I was a little bit confused by this. "No way people at this age are doing this kinda stuff! Come on, Remender, you could've at least made them all 16!" I thought. But then I began to realize that this is kind of the point - the world is a fucked up place for a lot of people. And being a teenager in a fucked up world is even worse. But there are still common points of reference, like Marcus' fascination with Saya. It's only a thing a person at this age can feel and it struck home because I have felt this way, too. Everybody has.

So yeah, I can't wait for more. A shame the second trade will probably hit in april 2015, but, hey, at least I got some other Remender books to read in the meantime. I'm so glad one of the first comics I've read was Uncanny X-Force.
