Can't wait to start hunting light tomorrow

Would be nice to know roughly how far away mission objectives are when you pick them up on patrol. Sometimes they are really far away. Actually was a bit annoying when one mission took me to the spider tank area so I just abandoned it :/

I agree. I'm also somewhat trying to figure out what the different symbols stand for what type of mission. I need to pay closer attention lol.

I keep getting the Bee error code. I guess that means the game is saying, "Dude, it's almost one in the morning. Go the fuck to sleep."

But I don't wanna!

;~;

Morning all.

So hopefully I'll break into Bladedancer territory today.

Looking at all the skill trees, combined with the modifiers on armour and what not, it seems there could be some very interesting, and powerful, builds.

Bladedancer is the shit. It's great for PvP and PvE. I have seen some people say it is useless against bosses(and it is somewhat), but most of the the other supers are as well because bosses are bullet-sponges. It does give you increased damage resistance and the ability to quickly take out the trash mobs the accompany most bosses.

It is very satisfying to to charge straight into Oakland group of 3 or PvP players and slice them like butter. Trying to figure why I should ever use Gunslinger again...

Aren't they factions? Not sure how that all works yet, only starting out- should you join a faction immediately or wait for a certain level?

Basically either rep goes to Vanguard / Crucible, or it goes to the faction whose class item you're wearing. If you want gear from one faction, then just level that. You can level them all, so it's not like you're locked out.

Those Public Events are heavily dependant on the size of your Fireteam. I finished Venus on Thursday and I've been playing solo from the start and I've encountered only 1 Event the whole time. Yesterday my friends got their PS4's and we all made new characters and started from the beginning. As a Fireteam of 3, we ran into 5 Public Events on Earth in a span of 3 hours.

No, they aren't dependent on the size of your Fireteam.

Bungie adjusted the Public Events yesterday to make them more frequent.

"Public Events will erupt from the skies over your favorite destinations with greater frequency."

So I can now confirm fusion rifles are broken in multiplayer lol

Can also confirm. This just happened and I pretty much used a fusion rifle exclusively. I felt like such a troll afterwards lol.

They're strong but there are also Shottys that can kill in a single shot without the charge, so those two balance it seems. Don't know if there's a Sniper Rifle that can kill in one shot yet, but there's one that stealths you.. so that would seem to balance at least to an extent.

The shottys are different because you have to be pretty damn close for a single shot kill. As long as you do some recoil control with the fusion rifle you can be a pretty good distance away. Also, if you jump over someone's head with the FR it's almost a free kill.

Any one want to do the heroic strikes on X1? three of us level 22+ and we could probably knock it out.
anyone? can't sleep :/

Hit level 22. Light so RNG/engram dependent it feels. :(

Got two Legendary Engrams today, both were Blues that were downgrades.

One was a bond I already had.

THE THIRST FOR THE LEGENDARY IS REAL.

What are you guys doing for legendary engrams? I've yet to see one drop in Strike Playlists level 20.

I've been playing Crucible all day and this evening.. specifically after about 11pm Eastern.. I've run into some Shottys that not only kill at not "pretty damn close" distances in a single shot... I've gone heads up trigger-at-the-same-time with them and lost every time (with the specific players that have the beast shottys I spoke of before).

Not EVERY shotty does this... but they are out there for certain.

A nice detail put in is if you're crouched behind cover, which you can barely see over, if you aim (Atleast with revolvers) you poke a little bit up so you can see more. Edit-I'll try to upload a video of it.

Is there a good beginners guide? and do clans make it easier to team up in game? No matchmaking option for PvE is a real shame - especially when you can see others in your area heading to probably the same story mission location, and then they all disappear when you get to the darkness zone.

I don't get the shotguns in PvP, people seem to be able to one shot me with them pretty easily, I've tried equipping them and they're just not that consistent for me.

Any regular users of the shotgun got any tips?

I've been using the sniper as my secondary to go along with my auto rifle, but I am getting frustrated with a lot of the closer range battles.

Never had trouble turning off my fucking console before I played this game. Shit.
I can finally go to sleep. Gonna dream of Legendary gear and Exotic weapons.

Any tips on doing the weekly strike? Everyone on my fireteam was 21/22 but we got wasted pretty bad. The arc damage modifier is very annoying, and you can't respawn unless revived.

Clans are useless in the game, we went all that trouble to set them up before the game launched and it was all for nothing

Aim for the head.

Pray you don't miss.

Then, and only then, will Bungie-senpai notice you and award you the kill.

Define "sleep".

Your level makes a huge difference. I forget what the default level setting is, but make sure you meet or exceed it. Otherwise, just go in with arc weapons and wreck. I'd recommend finding a good spot to group up and shoot from in the first room with three waves. My buddies and I usually camp out by the big hive tunnel.

This might seem like a silly question but where are the faction vendors in the tower? I guess I might as well see which faction to go with, assuming I don't stay with vanguard

You'll need to be atleast 23 to attempt the heroic strike. Its tough, really tough.

I joined two level 21 buddies when they were already in the final boss, and we beat him much easier than the level 22 vanguard strike Nexus lol

Once my buddies are at least level 21 with me we might consider doing heroic strikes. Vanguard strike level 22 I didn't get jack shit level 20 though and that took us a while.

Dead orbit is near the vanguard quartermaster.

FWC is nearby ( can't reference the location)

3 words: Point-blank Range.

Like, you literally have to be within arm's reach of someone to one shot them with a shotgun. Try to find a shotgun with higher than average range to increase that distance, but also make sure it has a reasonable rate of fire, so you can get a second shot off if you need to. Normally, if you shoot a person with a shotgun at less than point-blank range they'll lose enough health to be one-shoted by a punch, so be sure to use a melee as a follow-up.
