Holy shit... okay just got to level 20 and couldn't find anyone to join my fireteam. The missions are so much harder by yourself just from the sheer fact of how many more enemies are coming after you. Oh and some of them are super aggressive. It is crazy, the game goes from Easy to You're Dead. I had to change my strategy on how to engage the enemy.

Is it possible? Sure. Is it suggestible? Hell no.

Your level makes a huge difference. I forget what the default level setting is, but make sure you meet or exceed it. Otherwise, just go in with arc weapons and wreck. I'd recommend finding a good spot to group up and shoot from in the first room with three waves. My buddies and I usually camp out by the big hive tunnel.

It's a level 22 strike and 2 of us were 22, 1 was 21.

Yeah we couldn't go past the first area, everyone had rare gear with arc damage but somehow we weren't doing close to the damage we should have been doing. AND DAMN THOSE FUCKING FUSION RIFLE SNIPER VANDALS!

Thanks, we'll try camping it out in the hive tunnels. Will switch fusion rifles to snipers.

Regardless, just hit 18 on my Hunter and 11 on my Warlock. Having a good time with friends...just have to set stuff up through invites.

I joined two level 21 buddies when they were already in the final boss, and we beat him much easier than the level 22 vanguard strike Nexus lol

I got mightily owned while trying the heroic strike at level 20.

I'm level 22 now hit me up if you want a go at the heroic strike later today.

It's basically a hit or miss for me, too. Sometimes, shotguns just wreck EVERYTHING, and then other times they're completely useless when I have an auto rifle of comparable attack rating.

It's mostly aiming for the head, though. Upper chest area probably works best, as well.

Just wondering how some people seem to be tearing it up with the shotgun.

You have to master that slide, shoot, melee combination in order to use the shotgun properly. If you're a Titan, you'll probably understand how powerful you are when combining fist of havoc, and the shoulder charge. I was playing Control and I wiped out five people with the shoulder charge and shotgun. Makes me want to make a montage of the crazy shit I do.

Switch on the fly? Blade for trash then switch to Gunslinger on the bullet sponges

I finally hit 20 today
I also did my first 2 strikes, my first one went horrible as the randoms that started with me just up and left before the final showdown and second I did the earth one in case it happened again and it went smooth as butter. I need to start leveling up defender so I have many options.

Sounds like you all just need to devise better strategy / team work. And maybe more patience? Don't be brash when those snipers are watching you, haha.

I am going to switch to blink for my arcblade hunter, should be useful in closing down the distance to the enemies as well.

Yes but both subclasses need to be leveled up for that, I stopped leveling up my gunslinger after 15 when I unlocked bladedancer.

Ward of Dawn provides for some pretty clutch moments in 3v3 and the Heroic Weekly. I started a Titan just so I can use it.

So I have made it to 20 and finished the story missions. Haven't felt like this about a game in forever in that I am truly unsure how I feel about it all. I do know I want to try the end game content out. Has Bungie ever stated why some they didn't just enable matchmaking in every aspect of this game? I can't see how that would provide a more negative play experience than not being able to raid or have a team for the weekly heroics. This is what I get for being antisocial.

I feel your pain I can never pull the trigger to send an invite to my dgaf friends. Really wishing the had a lfg tool in game so your friend/amazing clan knew what you were interested in atm. :/ I have seen other post things on the call wall I might give that a go.

There's no gifting in the game, so thank the game for your goodies.

My main issue with arc blade is that the hunter can easily be killed during it's use. Which is not the case with Titans and Warlocks supers.

When I realized that I couldn't shoot through my bubble shield ( don't know what I was expecting) I switched back.

I would take the ability to shoot through the shield for a lesser duration any day.

Random strangers you assemble on a forum outside the game are magically more competent and invested than random stranges you assemble via an ingame matchmaking function because MAGIC
