PlayStation Network Thread (Vita/PS3/PS4) | September 2014

I'm not saying it was a bad game, it has great art. The online only and f2p isnt really appealing still. will it even make out of japan?

It depends who's the publisher in Japan. The F2P of Destiny of Spirits is okay at first, but after a few hours, there is not much you can do.

I don't understand all the hype around Velocity 2X. I reached level 14 and I don't see why I should bother continuing, the levels are always just various permutations of the same 8-or-so obstacles. Does it get interesting later or is it just more and more of the same?

Apart from having physical controls it feels like a cheap iOS/Android game. I just don't see what the buzz is all about.
Thank you, I thought I was the only one

Q? Entertainment.

It probably won't come over if Guardian Hearts Online is anything to go by.
That game was crap.

I mean I'm not mad the game doesn't auto-save everything, but an auto-save after the opening credits would do a world of good.

Is there any JRPG doing that? I don't even remember.

Wrapped up DR2, probably will finish Island Mode when I have more time. Incredible game. I may have shed a tear or two when I reached the end.

Besides, you should remember to save regularly anyway.

The way she says this always cracks me up.

"Remember to save RWEGURLERLY."

Just beat chapter 5 of DR2. I uhhhhh think I'm going to be up till like 3 AM trying to finish this. I mean I can't just stop after what just happened.

I always made the same mistake, trying to play a little bit of DR2 before sleeping.

And then I see morning.

Another MUSYNC update today and now with a nice new icon!

After playing some proper DJMax Portable and a few MUSYNC updates I'm starting to develop some impressions.

  • The timing being different from DJMax is really going to cause problems if you try to learn both at once. In DJMax you aim for the bottom of the note as it drops, but in MUSYNC you aim for the middle of the note.
  • MUSYNC feels faster than DJMax with a steeper learning curve. Irregular note patterns all over the place, and more notes at lower difficulties. In DJMax I prefer standard speed but here I always set it to slowest.
  • 5K charts really throw a curveball, and I'm beginning to understand why DJMax Portable doesn't have 5K at all. Even though the inner keys control the same lane, often the pattern is designed so that one key works better than the other - the patterns force you to quickly react to figure out which key to use. This takes some getting used to.
  • They finally improved loading time between difficulties!
  • However, song loading time is still long. They really need to add a retry option to the results screen - right now it's faster to restart a song if you don't let it finish.
So far, it feels like the game hasn't quite matured yet - it doesn't really have its own mechanics, and we have seen that it is a work in progress. It feels like the original iOS versions of Cytus before they planned out what the structure of the finished game would be like. It is good to see that Inferno seems to be a very active developer.

Speaking of Cytus, looks like the Vita-exclusive prologue is coming to iOS and Android. I no longer need to get Cytus Lambda (where they never seemed to have figured out the loading time problem, unfortunately).

My biggest problem with DoS were the leading times. Seriously, I know those kind of games are time wasters but iyou spent like half the time looking at a load screen.

Is there any JRPG doing that? I don't even remember.

Is not usual to see checkpoints in JRPGs, but lately most I've played had so many save points that you could have just put it as an option in the menu.

Tales has a quick save option (1 slot, you can save anywhere) that is quite cool.

Thank you, I thought I was the only one

If it's as good and polished as the first one then I'll be amazed. What bothers me much more imo is the game's price. Going from a minis (4£) to 5£+ on the vita and then 13£ for the sequel with 2£ day one DLC, I feel the initial reception of the first game is the cause to milk the sequel more. I'm surprised no one mentioned a thing about pricing just because it's free on plus. Because of this I'm forced to wait until it becomes cheaper.

Isn't this heavily frowned upon?

Hey, if you want me to keep my mouth shut I can. I'm not getting anything out of telling you that a cool new game is coming out other than you guys getting hype about it and me being glad you're happy for Vita.

I can just as easily keep everything to myself and not tell you guys shit, spreading the love elsewhere if that's what you want. I thought a little insider information about something cool would be welcomed, but if it's not it takes less energy to type nothing than something and I'm cool with that too.

Also, for the record - I never said port.

I just want type 0 on the vita :(

Yeah I'd agree with your points. At this stage MUSYNC has some strange UI quirks that feel cobbled together and not as smooth as it could be given it's very nice presentation (especially when I compare it to some of the other PS Mobile releases). Given that the devs are Chinese how that subsequently translates to the song choices gives the game something to call its own even if it is at its core a DJMax clone.
I'm looking forward to how it progresses over time.

Started playing Dead or Alive 5 Plus today. Why have I never played this series before? It's so much fun!

You started with the best one since 2 so you aren't missing much. Pick up DOA5U(super cheap) or dl the f2p version if you get really deep into it since that's where the community is now if you or still have a PS3. New balance, characters, costumes, mechanics, etc.

Update? How do you update musync anyway?

Update? How do you update musync anyway?
PS Mobile releases usually download updates automatically and are installed upon opening the application.
I think the only indication of a version change is if you go into the Information page for the game and check the version number because PSM releases don't have a Version History page.
The latest MUSYNC version is 1.07

Just finished DR2. Wat do now

Total playtime was about 35 hours

Read the IF novel? I think you unlock it after completing the game.

I just think it's a number of people who hate tease on Gaf. I don't know the thought progress about that, though. It's not like the only thing they could do is sitting there waiting for the tease to reveal. I have too many things to do so tease is just a tease to get me hype for a moment and then I'm back to business as usual. That's why I don't mind teaser.

As long as I know something good is coming to the Vita, that's cool enough.

Well, let's not try to dig information out of him as it could get him to trouble later. As long as we know it's good for Vita.

...It has nothing to do with Sony, right?

It's not a AAA or first party title, it's not being announced for about two weeks (as far as I know) and it hasn't been announced for any other platforms in the past (it's not a port).

That's all I'm saying 'til I get the word otherwise, aside from the odd "it's not that" response and maybe one more tiny hint down the line.

Don't worry, I won't get myself in trouble. ;)

And it's western based, so it's an indie game (unless you mean localization).

I think it's either a sequel to a famous indie or a new game from a talented and respected dev. My bet is either Futurlab or Drinkbox new game... :P

But again, what does AAA mean for you? Not indie? Not Uncharted but kinda like Tearaway?

So.. seems like Sony never knew mojang was flirting with microsoft.

..or maybe they did know and that is the reason to why they haven't talked about it that much or announced a MC bundle?

I'm not sure if it will affect the Vita's version of Minecraft in anyway, but if it does, isn't it kinda hilarious (and sad) that Microsoft's move didn't manage to hurt the PS4 but somehow deal a blow to the Vita instead?

It won't, with regards to the release at least.

Updates are another story, and it would depend what's in the contract.

Finished Wolfenstein minutes ago. Holy Crap what an amazing Game, really enjoyed it and i don't even like FPS Games. Now back to Danganronpa!

Not a port eh?
Looking forward to the announcement :)
